Everyone from the daily carers to the team in the office supports Uncle with a caring and professional attitude, respecting his need to remain as independent as possible. As his needs have increased/changed Home Straight have been flexible and prompt in making necessary adjustments to his Plan.
My uncle is currently very excited about a day trip to a museum that one of his carers is arranging to take him on, something he thought he wouldn't be able to do again!

Home Straight has been helping my mum for a couple of months now, this has given us great relief to my wife and I as mum has Alzheimer's and would like to stay at home as long as possible, my wife and I still work although part-time, we have had a difficult year. Saying that Mum is more spritely and loves to see the carers (Home Straight) who take her to the lavender mill twice a week, and also keep the house tidy, the carers are lovely, well-presented, and go above and beyond and I know if I needed them in an emergency outside their regular care hours they would be there, the carers are also very patient will mum, this has been a great help to take some pressure off us both, and would highly recommend Home Straight care company.

Needed to increase my mum's care quickly. They managed it very efficiently, rang on Friday and on Saturday they created a full timetable of care for me. They considered the carers that my mum had and made sure that she had familiar faces.

I can't thank Home Straight enough for how flexibly and quickly they responded with a care package for my Dad when he had multiple falls recently. The owners, managers and carers are all really lovely and caring and in my dealings with them I always feel they have my Dad's best interests at heart and genuinely care about him. They communicate any potential issues with me and always have suggestions or contacts to resolve any problems. Sometimes they just provide a listening ear. Really lovely people.

I would not hesitate to recommend Home Straight. Dad has dementia and would have to go into residential care were it not for the support that he gets from Home Straight. He has 3 visits a day. As well as meal prep and housework, he has personal care (bathing etc) and trips out for lunch and to go supermarket shopping. I do not think he would have stayed as well as he has if he were not able to be at home. He still enjoys the independence of being in his own home with his own routine, pottering around as he pleases. He is extremely fond of all the carers, they are a wonderful team who genuinely care about his wellbeing. The visits are fully logged on an app so I can check after each call how Dad has been. When he has been unwell extra care has been provided to support Dad and the family. It has been a totally positive experience working with Home Straight.
I have used Home Straight for several years now, and I have always found them excellent. The carer always arrives on time, cleans the house very well and is always willing to help in any way she can.

Mum has been having Home Straight for many years now and they cannot do enough for her. Mum can be very demanding and tetchy at times but there are never any complaints. They take her to all her hospital/dental appointments and also arrange a lot of them for her. They have also been great support for me and my sister when mum was taken into hospital and often stayed later than their allotted time. we have no hesitation in recommending Home Straight for care in the home.

We feel fortunate to have Home Straight supporting my mother at home. She has been in frail health for some months and Home Straight have provided excellent care and companionship helping mum live comfortably at home. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The carers are always positive, helpful and kind and go out of their way to help. Home Straight is managed well, and there is definitely a sense that they are always genuinely seeking the best outcome for the client with any issue that arises. I cannot thank them enough for the kindness and gentle care they show to my husband. They have never let me down and have always found me someone should an emergency arise and I need extra help. My husband enjoys his carers and has a good laugh with them and calls them all lass, although he does have his favourite, he appreciates them all and we are both very grateful for all the help they and the management do for us.

We took on Home Straight to provide additional care assistance on the basis of two days a week; we have been delighted with their performance, and when further visits were required on short notice during the Christmas period, Home Straight managed to accommodate this without any hassle. We have only been using Home Straight for the last three months, but on the basis of this, we can fully recommend them.

Meet the Team (6)
I have worked for Home Straight since 2017, when I moved to Rutland.
I started as a support worker in 2017 and progressed with Home Straight to a Registered Manager in 2025.
I have been working in the care sector since I left school and have worked in care homes and hospitals. I had a brief break from care when I had my daughter, and then found love for care again when I moved to Rutland and found Home Straight... I haven't looked back since.
I have worked in the care sector for almost a decade and have been with Home Straight for over 10 years. I started my journey as a carer and progressed to becoming a Train the Trainer expert in Moving and Handling, before stepping into my current role as Deputy Manager in 2025.
I believe no two days are ever the same in care, which is one of the things I love most about the job. Making a positive difference to our clients’ lives is incredibly rewarding and something I am very passionate about.
Outside of work, you will usually find me nurturing my allotment, where I even grew the flowers for my wedding.
I’m excited to be joining the Home Straight team/family and managing the live-in service, which will ensure we provide a high-quality, personalised service for people who wish to have full-time care at home.
Personally, I cared for my grandpa in his later life and fully understand the pressures faced by family and carers who provide care to a loved one.
I have a long career working in H&SC, starting by taking initial referrals and assessing eligibility for small packages of care for the local authority. I then moved into care management and began visiting people in the community and hospital to assess for ongoing H&SC services. Began specialising in Dementia care, conducting capacity assessments and multi-disciplinary team working. This then led onto a role working under the contracts and assurance service whereby I led on the annual audits, un/announced inspections, and portfolio management of regulated services. Most recently, I managed the community equipment service for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
I joined Home Straight originally as a carer, and now I manage the rotas. If you call us to discuss your invoice or rota it is often me you will speak to.
I live locally with my family and my dog. I enjoy gardening and walking and spending time with my family.
I began my journey with Home Straight as a cleaner, and now I’m thrilled to be serving as their Community Engagement Officer. I’m passionate about connecting with our community, empowering individuals to realise they can receive exceptional care at home, and showcasing the amazing work we do.
When I’m not championing Home Straight, you can find me enjoying the great outdoors at local parks or having fun in soft play with my son.
I’m Amander, and I work part-time as a Community Engagement Officer for Home Straight and have been with the company for six months.
My role is to spread the word within the wider community in Rutland about home care in general. As part of the community team, we set up and attend as many events as possible across the region to let people know about the services Home Straight offers. Our goal is always to support Rutland people to live well at home for as long as possible.
You’ll find us handing out our goody bags and leaflets at all kinds of community events and at venues like garden centres, village halls, churches, markets, street fairs and much more.
