Home Straight Partnership provide care for my father who is in his 80s. The carers are friendly and professional and make sure that his care requirements are catered for efficiently and effectively, attending on a daily basis.

The Home Straight team provide an excellent and flexible service, which my family and my father appreciate greatly. As well as helping him to prepare meals, to clean and wash and iron clothing, the carers also provide much-needed social interaction for dad too. The service helps him to remain independent and live in his own home.

A few months ago, the existing care provider for my mother ran into staffing difficulties and had to cease providing care at short notice. This left us in a very difficult situation. We were lucky enough to find Home Straight. From the outset, they have been great! They understood the problem facing us and went out of their way to find a workable short-term solution until a more permanent one could be put in place. Their assessment of my mother's needs was very professional and thorough. During the first few weeks of providing care, they regularly checked to make sure everything was working smoothly and made minor changes when needed. From my experience from the beginning of the year to now the care provided by Home Straight has been excellent. The staff at head office have always responded quickly and have done their utmost to accommodate my brother's needs. The carers have been great, with obvious consideration of their client's needs. Home Straight has been proving a care service for my 100-year-old father for several years. At first, all he needed was someone to help him run his house and prepare meals as he lives alone. However, in recent months we have had to increase the level of care due to his failing mobility so now, in addition to the daily visits, he has a sleeping night-time carer. Throughout this time the service has always been excellent and above expectations. The carers are all very proficient, friendly and empathetic. My father was always against someone living in his house at night but now says he cannot live without them. The carers do not just provide a care service for my father, they engage with him, and provide comfort, support and reassurance when needed which relieves the loneliness of living on his own. He genuinely looks forward to their visits and I could not recommend the company and the carers more highly.

The care staff who have been kind, thoughtful, reliable and always good company for her and have on occasions 'gone beyond' to address a need as it arose. Regular communication from the careers is via the online notes system, this is really helpful especially as I live quite a distance from Mum and allows me to be in touch without interrupting the care call daily.
The administrator of the carer rota is a wonderful soul who has always been able to provide support when we have needed to make changes.
The management of Home Straight have been very helpful and approachable as Mum's needs have increased over time, always putting her and her support at the centre of things.
I would definitely recommend the agency to another family who may need support for an elderly relative.

Home Straight came highly recommended. They have been wonderful and we couldn’t have coped without them. They look after my parents who are 90 & 95 years old, each with quite separate needs. The team include the same group of people, so we all get to know each other, which makes a huge difference. They are caring, chatty, considerate and have good practical knowledge, experience and oodles of common sense. If there’s a problem, it’s sorted, but they keep me updated every step of the way via a phone call and also through an app, which records each visit. They make a huge difference to my parent's health, well-being and quality of life. For our family who provide care and support, we get a huge piece of mind and know my parents are safe and cared for when we’re not there. A huge thank you!

We have been with Home Straight for several years and can't recommend them too highly. I feel that their aim is, to not only provide the best care possible for my husband, but to support me too. We have the same carers every week which is important for someone with dementia. We've tried different options. When I leave my husband with Home Straight, he's relaxed and chatting, with others he clings to me and asks me to not be long.

Homes straight cared for Mum over the last year (2021) before we finally moved her into a care home in December. Throughout the time we engaged Home Straight they were excellent. They have high-quality competent staff; an excellent back office team; a caring, courteous and compassionate approach to their work. We couldn’t have been happier with the care and support they gave to my mother. Would highly recommend them without hesitation.

My experience with Home Straight has been mixed. The service they have provided has ranged from excellent to poor. One carer my Dad has had has been excellent the rest have been average to poor. Jobs not completed when asked and a lack of communication. For instance, one carer could not gain access and went home. My Dad is deaf and disabled with dementia. There is a key box for them to let themselves in. My Dad could have fallen or died. Nobody alerted me or did anything to find out what was wrong. They removed my Dad’s care today without notice or adequate explanation as to why. They are unreliable and difficult to deal with. The management is patronising and unhelpful.

Meet the Team (6)
I have worked for Home Straight since 2017, when I moved to Rutland.
I started as a support worker in 2017 and progressed with Home Straight to a Registered Manager in 2025.
I have been working in the care sector since I left school and have worked in care homes and hospitals. I had a brief break from care when I had my daughter, and then found love for care again when I moved to Rutland and found Home Straight... I haven't looked back since.
I have worked in the care sector for almost a decade and have been with Home Straight for over 10 years. I started my journey as a carer and progressed to becoming a Train the Trainer expert in Moving and Handling, before stepping into my current role as Deputy Manager in 2025.
I believe no two days are ever the same in care, which is one of the things I love most about the job. Making a positive difference to our clients’ lives is incredibly rewarding and something I am very passionate about.
Outside of work, you will usually find me nurturing my allotment, where I even grew the flowers for my wedding.
I’m excited to be joining the Home Straight team/family and managing the live-in service, which will ensure we provide a high-quality, personalised service for people who wish to have full-time care at home.
Personally, I cared for my grandpa in his later life and fully understand the pressures faced by family and carers who provide care to a loved one.
I have a long career working in H&SC, starting by taking initial referrals and assessing eligibility for small packages of care for the local authority. I then moved into care management and began visiting people in the community and hospital to assess for ongoing H&SC services. Began specialising in Dementia care, conducting capacity assessments and multi-disciplinary team working. This then led onto a role working under the contracts and assurance service whereby I led on the annual audits, un/announced inspections, and portfolio management of regulated services. Most recently, I managed the community equipment service for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
I joined Home Straight originally as a carer, and now I manage the rotas. If you call us to discuss your invoice or rota it is often me you will speak to.
I live locally with my family and my dog. I enjoy gardening and walking and spending time with my family.
I began my journey with Home Straight as a cleaner, and now I’m thrilled to be serving as their Community Engagement Officer. I’m passionate about connecting with our community, empowering individuals to realise they can receive exceptional care at home, and showcasing the amazing work we do.
When I’m not championing Home Straight, you can find me enjoying the great outdoors at local parks or having fun in soft play with my son.
I’m Amander, and I work part-time as a Community Engagement Officer for Home Straight and have been with the company for six months.
My role is to spread the word within the wider community in Rutland about home care in general. As part of the community team, we set up and attend as many events as possible across the region to let people know about the services Home Straight offers. Our goal is always to support Rutland people to live well at home for as long as possible.
You’ll find us handing out our goody bags and leaflets at all kinds of community events and at venues like garden centres, village halls, churches, markets, street fairs and much more.
