When the parent not being cared for was found in a desperate state early one morning, the carer visiting stepped in without question and did what needed to be done, making contact with me once the situation was stable enough, seeking agreement as to the next course of action, which we agreed was further medical assistance. 999 called, the Home Straight Team stepped into action and provided a relay of constant care to my Father until I could get myself away from London and drive the 90 miles to take over the constant care that my father requires. I really do not know what would have happened if the Carer involved hadn't gone the extra mile to provide the most needed and tender support when she did. Not forgetting that the rest of the team juggled commitments to cover too. Thank you.

I have found all the carers very able, polite and efficient. They all seem well versed in the use of the various types of equipment that we have had to use progressively as my husband's ability to move has decreased. They always ensure he is happy with any new item used and is also made comfortable before they leave. I am always provided with a 'client rota' sheet so I know who to expect and timings. We have both been made to feel relaxed in their care and could not ask for any better attention.

Home Straight Partnership Ltd is the first and only home help service I've used and so far I have been very happy. After my father died I arranged daily personal care visits for my Mum. According to her, the visitors were all kind, considerate and willing to help with whatever my Mum needed. She's now settled into a routine and actually doesn't need as much help at the moment. I credit the Home Straight Partnership Ltd staff with helping her regain some confidence and independence. The team has been very accommodating when I've asked to check the visiting schedule and have made it clear that they understand how their client's needs can change over time. Definitely recommend!

Home Straight Partnership Ltd carers do a great job looking after my Mum who has dementia. They visit her twice a day, help her with her daily needs including medication and meals. I receive regular feedback as to how Mum is doing which has been invaluable during the recent lockdown.

The carers are like friends to my mother-in-law. She would not cope without them and looks forward to their visits. Home Straight have been wonderful, we have been really impressed by their thorough initial assessment and subsequent sensitive and sympathetic help they have provided my parents. They are flexible and adaptable being able to provide extra help if and when needed. They are helping my parents to stay independently in the home they love and to retain their autonomy. My father is 84 and has Parkinson's, but is still able to live independently with support. Two absolutely lovely ladies from Home Straight visit my father three days a week to cook his lunch, do any jobs such as his washing etc and then accompany him and his dog on his daily walk. My father looks forward to the visits and is very fond of both ladies. One, in particular, enjoys cooking and she prepares super lunches for my father - he is a 'foodie' so loves that. Both are good at anticipating his needs and the visits definitely lift his spirits on the days that he might feel a bit down. Thank you for providing such super support for my father.

I can't praise everyone at Home Straight highly enough. They have helped me so much with my father who is not the easiest person to deal with. We have been using Home Straight for about 4 years to help my father when my mother was in a home. She has since passed away and I have continued to use Home Straight for my fathers care. I have to implement more care as his needs become greater and Home Straight have been most accommodating. His carer has been with my Dad all along and has been a great source of comfort to him. Nothing is too much trouble for her which I greatly appreciate. Now he has several carers who have also become regular. All the staff are brilliant and so helpful, going out of their way a lot of the time. The office staff are great too. Always friendly and helpful. I cannot thank the whole team enough for the care my father receives.

Home Straight has looked after my Mother-in-law over the past year. They are an excellent company. The carers are very understanding, kind and dedicated. They really care about their clients, who are treated with dignity and nothing is any trouble. They make the client feel happy and special. When changes need to be made, the company follows up immediately. They have excellent communication skills and keep the family involved. Everything is very well run. Then came COVID 19 - but Home Straight made clear all the necessary precautions they were taking - and continued their visits without any fall-off in their service. Then Mother developed a foot infection that meant she was unable to walk and required help every day - 3 times a day - rather than just 6 visits a week! Again Home Straight responded immediately making their staff available including weekends until the infection was gone.
Everyone we have come into contact with have been helpful, responsive and cheerful and my mother has benefited greatly. Thank you Home Straight.

We are full of admiration for the carers. The work is not always easy as one would expect with an elderly person with serious physical and mental health issues. However, the carers are unremittingly cheerful, dedicated and caring. They all work hard at the practical side of the care and the emotional and social support. We are in awe of their patience. They are particularly careful to preserve the dignity of their client.

Meet the Team (6)
I have worked for Home Straight since 2017, when I moved to Rutland.
I started as a support worker in 2017 and progressed with Home Straight to a Registered Manager in 2025.
I have been working in the care sector since I left school and have worked in care homes and hospitals. I had a brief break from care when I had my daughter, and then found love for care again when I moved to Rutland and found Home Straight... I haven't looked back since.
I have worked in the care sector for almost a decade and have been with Home Straight for over 10 years. I started my journey as a carer and progressed to becoming a Train the Trainer expert in Moving and Handling, before stepping into my current role as Deputy Manager in 2025.
I believe no two days are ever the same in care, which is one of the things I love most about the job. Making a positive difference to our clients’ lives is incredibly rewarding and something I am very passionate about.
Outside of work, you will usually find me nurturing my allotment, where I even grew the flowers for my wedding.
I’m excited to be joining the Home Straight team/family and managing the live-in service, which will ensure we provide a high-quality, personalised service for people who wish to have full-time care at home.
Personally, I cared for my grandpa in his later life and fully understand the pressures faced by family and carers who provide care to a loved one.
I have a long career working in H&SC, starting by taking initial referrals and assessing eligibility for small packages of care for the local authority. I then moved into care management and began visiting people in the community and hospital to assess for ongoing H&SC services. Began specialising in Dementia care, conducting capacity assessments and multi-disciplinary team working. This then led onto a role working under the contracts and assurance service whereby I led on the annual audits, un/announced inspections, and portfolio management of regulated services. Most recently, I managed the community equipment service for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
I joined Home Straight originally as a carer, and now I manage the rotas. If you call us to discuss your invoice or rota it is often me you will speak to.
I live locally with my family and my dog. I enjoy gardening and walking and spending time with my family.
I began my journey with Home Straight as a cleaner, and now I’m thrilled to be serving as their Community Engagement Officer. I’m passionate about connecting with our community, empowering individuals to realise they can receive exceptional care at home, and showcasing the amazing work we do.
When I’m not championing Home Straight, you can find me enjoying the great outdoors at local parks or having fun in soft play with my son.
I’m Amander, and I work part-time as a Community Engagement Officer for Home Straight and have been with the company for six months.
My role is to spread the word within the wider community in Rutland about home care in general. As part of the community team, we set up and attend as many events as possible across the region to let people know about the services Home Straight offers. Our goal is always to support Rutland people to live well at home for as long as possible.
You’ll find us handing out our goody bags and leaflets at all kinds of community events and at venues like garden centres, village halls, churches, markets, street fairs and much more.
