I have found that the service is very amenable for requests for particular help for my mum. Their visits to her do help her, both in the practicalities and perhaps even more importantly, the social aspect. She does enjoy chatting to the carers.

Carer team was punctual, diligent and courteous. All the carers were kind and considerate in treating a fragile, 87-year-old female patient. I have nothing but praise for them. The carers were well-trained and were familiar with the method for changing the catheter and protective pads of a patient with double incontinence. They adhered to a strict hygiene routine at all times.

Third Hand Care have been supporting my son for several months now. They have worked hard at getting to know him and his needs and are now considered family friends. They are always punctual, helpful and willing to support him in whatever he does from dance classes to swimming. The office staff communicate well and are always helpful and friendly in dealing with them. We trust them implicitly with our son and the respite they provide is immeasurable.
I have no hesitation in praising the exceptionally high standard of the carers provided and the overall support service. The carers are most encouraging always cheerful, kind and gentle in particularly helping me to get into bed and out, using the zimmer frame, also helping me to dress and help with personal hygiene including using a commode. They help and encourage me and are present when I do my physio exercises. The carers arrive promptly subject to the weather and the traffic. They do try to get back to me to let me know if they will be late. One small point it would be helpful to have their names before they are due to arrive.

Unfortunately, we've noticed a deterioration in the level of care that a couple of carers provide. I want to stress that this is not all of them but 2 specifically. 3 or 4 times I have come home after the carer has attended to Mum and the back door has been left wide open. There is one particular carer who only spends 10 minutes washing Mum and I know that this isn't sufficient time. Blood is left under Mum's fingernails where she's had a nosebleed. There are other issues that I will raise separately. But again I wish to stress the majority of carers are great and we enjoy seeing them and the care they give.
