GoodOaks Homecare - New Forest

My father was taken ill on a Friday evening, GoodOaks Homecare called 111 and then an ambulance was arranged to come. The carer stayed with my father for several extra hours. This then gave time for me to travel down and have peace of mind that my father was not left alone. I am happy with the care that GoodOaks provides for my father.

The staff that looked after and cared for my father did a first-class job. All of them took time to ensure his welfare was looked after. GoodOaks were very responsive to any request I made and helped out all of the time. I was impressed that they were able to change rotas to suit my father's needs. A very easy company to work with. She then moved to daily visits and again found all the carers to be friendly, professional and caring. A misunderstanding regarding the terms of the contract was quickly and professionally resolved, as always with the elderly it is important to confirm they understand what they are asking for.

Mum has been benefiting from having live-in carers from GoodOaks Homecare for about eight months now. Without exception all of her carers have been kind and caring, coping with Mum's multiple problems with patience and understanding. After initially being adamant that she would never have someone living in, Mum's growing anxiety, caused by the prospect of being unable to continue to live in her own home, has now been alleviated and she is generally much more relaxed and happy.

Surprised to find staff left to make own Covid and flu arrangements. I, and I'm sure many of your clients, are classed as vulnerable.

Again, I cannot rate Good Oaks carers highly enough, they are natural, happy, fun and professional.

GoodOaks Homecare have been providing home care for my 98 year old mother who was widowed 7 months ago. The care provided has been extremely good and much appreciated by her family members neither of whom live in the same area. GoodOaks carers provide meals, administering medication etc 7 days per week, twice a day and had to fill in over the Christmas period when we were unable to visit and care for mum due to ill health (a virus). We would have no hesitation in recommending GoodOaks to any prospective customers.

Living a great distance from Dad and unable to visit very often, I have to trust that a care agency will fulfill our requirements. Good Oaks is reliable, caring and adheres to the regulations. Communication is good and easy and problems or actions required are notified to us promptly. Dad is well cared for and likes the carers. The care app is useful to see the carer's visit reports and to get more of a feel for what is happening with Dad. Due to dementia, he is unable to tell us how things are himself.

Our experience with the team at Good Oaks while caring for our elderly relative, on the whole, has been very positive. I can hand on heart say they are very friendly and trustworthy and although I sometimes got frustrated that not everyone did things the way that I would have, they still had his best interests at heart. Throughout the time with Good Oaks, the needs changed and they were very good at discussing and auctioning it. Before Covid, the three-monthly review meetings were a good way to focus and refresh the care package and get any concerns out in the open. Like anyone in this position, it would have been impossible without a strong team like Good Oaks and I would suggest anyone get a system like this in place as early as possible, it will really go along way to helping the individual requiring care in the future.

The staff looking after my mother were always attentive and caring, anticipating problems and suggesting solutions that we're mindful of the situation. Her individuality and dignity was beautifully managed with thoughtful and relaxed assistance provided. The office staff were easily available and responded quickly to any questions.

My father's condition had been deteriorating rapidly over the past couple of years and care has been extended at each key stage-gate. We started with Good Oaks having an hour or two per day and when the time came for arranging the live-in care, their professionalism and genuine care meant that we turned to them. It has been an enormous relief to have this in place over the past eight weeks and with our father's lifetime wish of never wanting to be put into a home, even with dementia, we will now work hard to sustain this care into the future. It is not an affordable option for everyone and we won't be able to afford it forever but this 5* service received recently has been so wonderful and has completely changed our relationship with our Dad for the positive. My sister and I feel very happy with Good Oaks. Super care and always keeping us informed how mum is getting on. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum is also reassured by the staff. As she can be difficult and get agitated. Their care during covid has also been very good.

Professional, friendly carers who established a warm relationship with my mother. As her disability worsened, causing challenging behaviours, they were always patient, calm and compassionate. The family always felt reassured in the knowledge that the Good Oaks carers were there.

Good Oaks have been caring for our elderly mother for the past few years. She is 92 and quite a difficult character to cope with. Despite this, the staff who come in every day to give her breakfast and get her washed and dressed show continued patience and kindness. They are professional, clean and cheerful and always do everything they can for our mother. Furthermore: whenever they have any concerns about her health they are always quick to contact us and keep us up to date, they have never let us down, by not turning up - even in these tricky times and every staff member is pleasant and approachable. Thoroughly recommend them.
