My father was looked after by three lovely carers - continuity is the best for older people. They all carried out their duties over and above and were respectful at all times. Nothing was too much for either of them - I had actually written a check sheet for them - there was no need they did...
My father was looked after by three lovely carers - continuity is the best for older people. They all carried out their duties over and above and were respectful at all times. Nothing was too much for either of them - I had actually written a check sheet for them - there was no need they did everything without me suggesting it! Experience was the subtle difference as they knew what they should be doing for safety, health reasons and also for Dad for his personal being eg. talking to him on arrival (even though he was so hard of hearing) asking about his day etc. The last duty call that was made was carried out amazingly and with such compassion - he could have done no more. If you are looking for a Care Home I would recommend them. Thanks given to all staff.

Carer did not provide the care that was required.
He did not give my father a shower or even talk to him to convince him to have a shower. Did not show care or friendliness.

The carer job is to provide care to my dad, but instead he put my vulnerable 80 year old parents who's first language is not English at risk.

This review is not correct and very misleading. Our carers only attended to this gentleman once which was on our first visit, on our arrival at the property, there was no heating in the house and it was very cold. There was no hot water either, as a result the gentleman declined to have a wash due...
This review is not correct and very misleading. Our carers only attended to this gentleman once which was on our first visit, on our arrival at the property, there was no heating in the house and it was very cold. There was no hot water either, as a result the gentleman declined to have a wash due to the cold home environment which was understandable. The carer tried to contact the next of kin but unfortunately they did not respond to the calls. The gentleman then asked the carer to help him by calling someone who could help which the carer did. The carer acted on the gentleman's best interest. The daughter then phoned the office complaining as to why an engineer had been called when they had cover and she wanted a full refund from the company, She was advised that attempts had been made to contact her 1st without success, she then advised us not to send anyone who was African/Caribbean and we advised her that we would not tolerate it. The emails were responded to.

We find the carers from Merit Care very good and have no hesitation in recommending them.
They are always cheerful, kind and caring. They are most efficient at washing, changing and physically taking care of my husband who is now bed-bound, doubly incontinent and suffers with various health problems - needing very careful moving and handling.
They are always cheerful, kind and caring. They are most efficient at washing, changing and physically taking care of my husband who is now bed-bound, doubly incontinent and suffers with various health problems - needing very careful moving and handling.
They have a way of making him feel special and usually lift his spirits, bringing a smile (or a laugh), to his face.

Overall Experience
Merit Care are caring, helpful and encouraging people to keep their independence, no matter how small. They treat me with respect and if there is a problem you can talk to them. If its solvable it gets solved and if not the will work with a client to get it solved.
