My Dad has recently passed away and I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all of the Home Instead team from the caregivers to the admin team, nothing was ever too much trouble for them all. My Dad had carers for several years and they became friends to him, he looked forward to their visits and enjoyed the fact that they were on time, he knew who was coming and the fact that they stayed an hour meant that they had time to chat, joke, do word puzzles with him, collect his prescription, water the garden cooking, washing etc. This was a complete turnaround from when he first had to have care and he was very reluctant to have strangers in his house, and so I am writing this review to reassure others in the same situation. From my perspective, it was comforting to know that Dad was so happy with his care team and when I had to cancel/re-install care due to hospital stays nothing was too much trouble when I contacted the office. So a big heartfelt thank you to you all.
I would just like to say how very pleased l am with Home Instead care for my mother. The care staff are excellent and always keep me informed. My mother was discharged from hospital at very short notice after a fall and trying to sort out a care home for respite care and a care package from hospital which wasn't going well and I seemed to be going round in circles. I contacted Home Instead to a very friendly voice who listened to what I required and within hours had come back to me with a full care plan for my mum, which was no mean feat on a bank holiday weekend, I really can't thank them enough.
I cannot thank the carers enough for looking after my mum for just over the last year. They spent quality time with her, chatting, playing cards and even bringing a fan round when it was warm, as well as doing the things that absolutely had to be done. They even visited Mum when she moved to her care home, to help her settle in. Thank you to the whole team for your support, it has been very much appreciated.
Lockdown isolation definitely had a negative impact on Mum and meant her usual social contacts all but disappeared. Displaying more than a few signs of age-related dementia but still an iron will that nothing was wrong, we contacted Home Instead to provide companion visits twice a week for some social interaction. Mum has readily accepted her lovely new “friend” and happily chats away. Home Instead we’re so helpful and professional. It’s very reassuring to know that Mum is getting (and enjoying) regular visits in between our own family visits.
A truly professional and reliable care company and we are very grateful to the whole team for the high standard of service they provide.
Really good and caring company, understanding of my needs and understanding of how people want to live in their homes as it can be scary for an elderly person to move out of their homes and also the staff care a lot for the clients and this is obvious.
I contacted Home Instead after my mum had been in hospital for 3 months and was being discharged to live with me for extra support. With my own family and house to run and my own job, Mum needed help with her personal care and daily needs. Home Instead were quick to respond with a Home visit to assess Mum, get to know her and her needs. The carers were very attentive with my mum even classing one of them like a daughter. If I had any problems, Home Instead were prompt in dealing with them and resolving any issues I had. Mum is now going into a nursing home but I would highly recommend Home Instead as a reliable, caring and supportive service.
The carers who were assigned to help me were very professional, friendly and extremely caring. I feel I have made very good friends. Should I need similar help in the future I would hope to have the same people to look after me, if they are still with Home Instead. Overall, I have been very pleased with the care given to me.
We were extremely grateful to Home Instead for putting care in place very quickly when our mother was discharged from hospital. Within a few days, they had assessed her needs working closely with the NHS team and put a support package together with highly competent and experienced caregivers. It has enabled mum’s return home to go smoothly and helped her get back on her feet quickly. The caregivers are lovely people and mum enjoys having them in the home and also importantly it helps the rest of the family to know that we have expert help at hand.
My caregivers are very attentive, confident in their approach to care and are polite and somewhat amusing which is good on the days when I am feeling down. If people around me are looking for care I would highly recommend Home Instead. You cannot put a price on good care. My caregivers know exactly what I need - they are intuitive and organised and have a great routine and are always willing to go the extra mile for me.
In the near future, I am hoping to have the same operation on my other shoulder and would have no hesitation in arranging for support again.
I have three carers who take turns coming in for an hour each morning to get me up and a full body wash and they are excellent; they are caring, friendly and I cannot praise them enough. Home Instead are excellent, they make sure you are suited to the carers and keep in touch to make sure you are happy with the service you receive. I highly recommend them.
Relevant, not too long and to the point.
Pleasant, friendly assessor who appreciated the circumstances.
Home Instead has provided absolutely invaluable support to my Mum since my father's death in July 2020. They not only make it possible for Mum to live independently in her home, but also provide me and my brothers with peace of mind that Mum is safe and coping when we cannot be with her every day. Mum's carer is so good and writes a daily report based on the care plan. She will also forward messages if there are any particular concerns. I would definitely recommend Home Instead to anyone needing care for their relative.
Having Home Instead visiting our mother twice a week gives us peace of mind. Both I and my brother live over 45 minutes away and her safety is our main concern. Putting these visits in place now whilst she is still quite capable of most things, means we can increase visits when the need arises without any stress, as a relationship has already been established. It is so helpful knowing that she has a caregiver twice a week to back up our visits and as they are regular, they can see if there is anything out of the ordinary and assist Mum if needed. The Home Instead team, have responded quickly and efficiently to all my queries and changes to Mum's care or medication. Mum looks forward to having her caregiver visits, especially during the Covid pandemic, as all of her clubs and activities are currently not open and this breaks up her week and gives her someone to talk to.
We signed up for our Care Plan for my mum, who has been diagnosed with dementia since 2017. She still lives in her own home and Home Instead has been a great asset to us for the past 3 months. A daily visit by the same carer, for 6 days of the week, and an alternative person on the 7th day, has provided great stability for Mum. She has a familiar person on each occasion who she has now built a good rapport. Her personal care needs are attended to on a regular basis and it kick starts her day. An hour a day is extremely well utilised, which leaves the rest of the family to spend time with Mum in other ways. Communication is excellent and we are always kept fully informed of any issues so that these can be addressed efficiently. I cannot thank everyone enough for their valued service.
Home Instead was strongly recommended to us by the local NHS community matron following some health issues that my mum was experiencing. It was soon clear as to why. Home Instead has been able to support Mum in a variety of ways, most importantly, with personal care and companionship, especially where I have experienced my own significant health issues. Mum has a great rapport and enjoys the support of our caregivers, and we do not know where we would be without them. The mobile app provides us with information on how Mum is and actions that we need to take e.g. medication issues. Home Instead has been instrumental in helping Mum to continue to live contentedly and safely at home. The whole ethos of Home Instead is to have care and companionship at the heart of everything they do, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs care support like my mum needs.
My mum was a strong and independent woman and at the age of 99 years old after an admission to hospital needed end of life care at home. It was very important to us as her family that we found carers who could care for her at home with love, respect and attention. We certainly found that in the care our mum got from Home Instead. The carers were amazing, always attentive to mum's needs and often anticipating her needs. This is clearly an organisation that is well managed who recruit a very knowledgable skilled staff. Indeed the staff always demonstrated their knowledge and professionalism to such a high standard which made a very sad and worrying time for us a lot easier to manage. Their ability to be calm, reassuring but always realistic and honest enabled us all to understand what was happening and was to be the final outcome. I would like to single out 2 members of staff in particular who were so kind and attentive to our mum, we will never forget this and will be forever grateful.
I cannot praise enough the professionalism and support given to my Mother from people who showed genuine care and concern whether they be a Manager or a Caregiver. My Mother's life was rendered so much more comfortable by her daily visit from a friendly, competent Caregiver for whom nothing was too much trouble. This latter kept me informed of my Mother's well being and alerted me immediately to any concerns, however small, via the excellent app used by the company. In this way, I felt really in touch with my Mother's needs and was able to intervene quickly if necessary to ensure her continuing comfort. The policy to assign a main Caregiver to a client allows trust and a relationship to be built. In my Mother's case this, along with the knowledge that the Caregiver would unfailingly arrive at the agreed time, gave her a feeling of security as she became less able to manage life unaided. I am happy to recommend this company to anyone seeking high-quality care for a loved one.
We have been very happy with the care provided to Mum at home since she returned after a fall. She has developed an extremely strong relationship with all of her carers who act in a very professional but also gentle manner. She has formed a strong bond to one in particular who is now just like an old friend. The Home Instead management are also very alert and efficient with regard to all aspects of the care provided.

Meet the Team (2)
We are the proud owners of Home Instead Senior Care Cuffley, Cheshunt & Harlow. We feel privileged to be part of such a remarkable network of people who share the same passion and commitment as we do to changing the face of ageing. We strongly believe that as a community it is important to plan for, embrace and view ageing positively as the next chapter.
The most rewarding aspect of our day-to-day roles is getting to know and understand the needs of our local community and seeing the impact we make in the lives of our clients by enabling them to feel empowered and live happy and fulfilled lives in their own homes. We love meeting our clients, hearing about their unique life stories and putting in place a support network to enable them to lead exactly the kind of lives they want to lead.
We understand that finding the highest quality care that is consistent and tailored to your needs can be a challenge. It is something we personally struggled to find when our family was looking for the right care solutions for our grandmother some years ago. This has inspired us to provide the highest quality care possible, whilst at the same time being flexible to each person’s individual needs and desires. This is the type of care that we wished was available when our grandmother most needed it.
As sisters, we understand the importance of family values and working with our clients to achieve their wishes and the wishes of their family. Neena is mum to a two-year-old son. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading and attending events in the local community. In her spare time, Anita enjoys mentoring, travelling, keeping fit and trying out new healthy recipes. Prior to setting-up Home Instead Senior Care, Neena was an employment lawyer for over 10 years helping clients from all walks of life to find positive solutions to complex and often even life-changing situations. Anita worked in the financial services industry.
