Standard of care provided by Care Worker exemplary however internal Promedica communications does require improvement between both Client and Promedica and Promedica and Care Worker. Once this aspect is improved then rating would move to top level.

All of the managers with whom I have had contact have been very good and very helpful, and have always responded quickly to my mails.

Unfortunately we started with a number of different carers, none of whom returned after their first work period. Most were good, but one was poor - poor English and a poor level of care. One carer who has returned has been excellent, and the current replacement is also excellent so we are very pleased with the current arrangements.

The service has provided my mother with a new lease of life and at 96 years of age, she has been provided with the opportunity of living in her own home with all the benefits of independence, the alternative would have been to move into permanent care.

We have been using Pro-Medica to live in and care for my father since August 2015. The whole approach and understanding of care required is excellent. Two carers share the role and do 6 weekly sessions. They both provide excellent care and companionship. They undertake light chores in the house as well as provide total care for him. One small downside is they have 2 hours a day free time. This has sometimes been a bit of a problem to organise as the family do not live close by. Overall this is the best option to enable him to stay in his own home, his wishes.

I started working in care over 15 years ago. My son was two and a half at the time and I needed a job that would fit around being his mum.

I started as a Care Support Worker and quickly found that I really enjoyed being part of a care team. Hearing people's stories, and being able to be a small part in ensuring they still knew they were valued and that they still had a lot to offer this world gave me a sense of knowing that this was the career path for me.

I believe starting as a Carer and then working my way up has allowed me to see the different processes and given me a better overall understanding. I am passionate about good person-centred care where the person is always at the heart of everything we do. I worked my way up over the years studying as I went along.

I worked as a Carer, Admin Support, Trainer, Locality Manager, Client Relationship Manager, and Care Manager and after completing my level 5, I have now moved up into the Registered Manager Role.

Working within Promedica24 has given me a great sense of teamwork, of the importance of supporting your team, and a great understanding of how putting the people who use our service first has great benefits for all.

I hope to lead with a servant's heart and enable my team to achieve their goals. Care is where my heart lies, and being able to be a part of a fantastic care company in a leadership role is a challenge I am looking forward to, and one where I will give my very best. I will uphold our values, and work hard with my colleagues to ensure we deliver the best possible person-centred care.

I choose to work in the care sector because I meet lots of amazing people all the time, from the people we support to other like-minded colleagues who genuinely care.

Working for Promedica24 has given me the opportunity to really make a difference to people who prefer to stay in their own homes, at a time in their lives when they feel a little more vulnerable.

Jonathan Exley Job Title: Care Manager - North Team Joined: 2020

I have worked in care for the last 28 years in the community and residential care with elderly and special needs children. I personally feel it is the best job as I get to help people either to learn and develop or to remain in their homes safely and well. Developing relationships with them learning about their past and their wishes, likes and dislikes to meet their needs.

I have met people who worked with Laural and Hardy, and a dancer who was with the Russian ballet. You never know what people have done till get to know them and ask which I feel is what makes the work so interesting.

Gary Derbyshire Job Title: Ribble Valley, Lancashire and North Yorkshire Regional Partner
Gary Derbyshire
Hello, I’m Gary - your Regional Partner for North Yorkshire and Lancashire. I launched the Promedica24 Lancashire office in 2016 with my partner Gill, before expanding our services to North Yorkshire, offering people a genuine alternative to residential care. I’ve previously worked for the Met Office on its Healthy Outlook Initiative, supporting the NHS and Primary Care Trusts to help keep people with respiratory health conditions to live well at home at times of poor weather, whilst also helping to avoid hospital admissions.

A common theme throughout my career is my desire to help and support others. Whether through my community fundraising initiatives with local charities such as Dementia Forward or through raising key issues with decision makers in health and social care – I am passionate about ensuring the people of Lancashire and North Yorkshire can live independently and well in the comfort of their own homes.

In my spare time I enjoy playing golf, walking in the countryside with Gill and our dogs, and watching my favourite football team, Manchester United – though that's not been too enjoyable in recent times!

Mark Muller Job Title: Dorset and Hampshire Regional Partner
Mark Muller
Hello, I’m Mark – your Regional Partner for Dorset, Hampshire & the New Forest. I joined Promedica24 in 2015 to provide people with a genuine alternative to residential care. With over 15 years of experience in the care industry, I continue striving to help meet the real need for live-in care in the southwest.

I am convinced supporting people to remain in the home they love is the best environment for people who find themselves needing support. As life chips away at our capabilities, we will all need some level of support. This varies greatly from preparing meals, providing a means for people to remain active in their communities to helping couples remain together. The relationships I have witnessed and the changes we have enabled show me that we are making a positive impact in people’s lives every day.

In my spare time, I act as a non-paid driver for my daughter ferrying her to various clubs, and I occasionally get out for a bike ride with friends. With two cats, a dog, a hamster, fish, and frogs, there is always something to do. Walking our dog Thor keeps me fit whatever the weather and I’m fortunate to live in a lovely area with the beach and forest not far away.

I am also a Dementia Friend with the Alzheimer’s Society, raising awareness and understanding of what it’s like living with the condition in my community.

John Pughe Job Title: Chester, Cheshire and North Wales Regional Partner
John Pughe

Hello, I’m John – your Regional Partner for Chester, Cheshire, and North Wales. I launched the Promedica24 Cheshire branch just over five years ago to provide the communities I serve with a genuine alternative to residential care. I’m proud to say my live-in care branch is known amongst the Cheshire community as the go-to provider in the area.

Caring for people is part of my family heritage. My parents both worked in the NHS, my sister still does, and my children aspire to be dietitians and physiotherapists. As a teenager, I saw how hard it was for my parents to juggle their busy jobs whilst raising a young family and caring for my grandparents. I know what this pressure looks and feels like for people now.

Today, what my parents want from professional care in later life has radically altered. They wish to remain at home. To stay in familiar surroundings, with family and friends able to visit at any time. To keep their pets, their possessions, and routines. To live their own lives and have their own choices. I very much welcome a chat with you to see how we can improve you and your loved one's life if professional care is required.

In my spare time, you’ll find me in my garden or on a tennis court (I’m quite competitive). Maybe reading a history book - if I get any peace and quiet with teenage children around – which isn’t often!

Jonathan Hayley Job Title: Wirral and Cheshire East Regional Partner
Jonathan Hayley

Hello, I’m Jonathan – your Regional Partner for Wirral. I launched the Promedica24 branch in 2016 after identifying a real need for alternatives to residential care in the area. I was born in Clatterbridge and grew up in West Kirby before going to the University of Leeds to read Russian and Czech. I spent over 20 years in the IT and telecommunications sector, working across the UK and Europe meeting people from many different nationalities and cultures. I’m now married and live in Heswall with my family.

I am part of the Dementia Friends initiative, participating in Dementia Services Showcase events in addition to being a key speaker at Later Life Seminars with AgeUK Wirral. I look forward to working with you and seeing how we can best support you to live independently in the comfort of your own home.

As a keen fan of the outdoors, I was an active member and volunteer at Neston Cricket club for over 10 years and I’m now a volunteer and participant at both West Kirby and Dee Sailing Clubs where I sail with my children. In Wirral, we are fortunate to have an abundance of wonderful outdoor spaces on our doorstep and I hope people of all ages can continue to enjoy them for a long time to come.

Rish Amod Job Title: East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire Regional Partner
Rish Amod

Hello, I’m Rishard – your Regional Partner for Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire. I was born in South Africa and launched the Promedica24 Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire branch six years ago. Before this, I was a teacher and Head of Department for Speech, Drama and English Literature students in South Africa, New Zealand and the UK for more than 30 years. I hold a CELTA qualification and can teach English as a second language. I have also been a professional actor on stage and in the film both in South Africa and England, having appeared in numerous productions.

Running my live-in care branch has allowed me to use my life to benefit the lives of others. I especially feel a deep sense of gratitude when you assist a person who has spent months in a hospital bed, to finally be in their own home, to see the smile on their face as they settle into their favourite seat. I look forward to being of service to you, making your life more comfortable, and getting you home.

I’m an avid aviation enthusiast, photographer and videographer. I also have a love for travel and cooking.

Tibor Dusnoki Job Title: North Surrey Regional Partner
Tibor Dusnoki

Hello, I’m Tibor – your Regional Partner for North & West Surrey. As one of the very first franchise partners in the UK, I have been running my live-in care branch in Surrey since April 2014. Back in my home country, Hungary, I worked in PR and sales, before moving into the care industry and working as a carer for two years. Fast forward eight years, and I have helped hundreds of families across Surrey find the support they need.

I am passionate about making a difference in my community, and my role as Regional Partner is to ensure people have access to the support they need to live their lives. Whether your loved one requires help around the home, or you are finding everyday tasks just that little bit more challenging, we are here to provide you with the best possible care to live your life independently in the comfort of your own home.

For almost two years, before Covid, I supported the local community as a volunteer driver, taking vulnerable people to GP and hospital appointments. I have also been helping a local family with two disabled children for several years as a translator and interpreter to keep in touch with social services and healthcare professionals.

Chris White-Smith Job Title: West Sussex Regional Partner
Chris White-Smith

Hello, I’m Chris – your Regional Partner for West Sussex. I launched my Promedica24 branch in 2017 and for over five years have enabled people to live independently and well in the comfort of their own homes. Before this, I held several senior management positions and directorships, leading business development and sales teams within the media industry.

I strive to ensure the residents of West Sussex can access a genuine alternative to residential care. I’m motivated by a personal commitment that everyone should have the choice and ability to access high-quality care at home. Whether short, long-term, respite, or urgent care is required, the Promedica24 care team and I are on hand to provide the highest quality support for you or a loved one.

In my spare time, I enjoy gardening and attending auctions. I also play golf and cycle around the beautiful villages of West Sussex. I am also a key sponsor and volunteer at The Glamour Club, a local community event for the over-55s in Worthing which is on a mission to end loneliness and loneliness caused by social isolation in Worthing and beyond.
