We are quite new to Westmorland Homecare, but have found everyone involved to be very helpful and experienced. The time taken to assess our needs was thorough and reassuring, and communication has been excellent. Every aspect of the care provided appears to have been extremely well thought out. The carers have all been friendly and relaxed. They are patient, observant, adaptable and highly professional - efficient in their work but never in a way that feels hurried or rushed. Thank you.
Whilst I was away, the staff at Westmorland Homecare looked after Mum just for a few hours 3 times a week. They carried out my suggestions & instructions so I knew my mother was able to go out with their help. I was kept updated after each visit by email, so I knew what Mum has done & where she has been & they fixed her heating!
Thank you so much for this lovely review, we are pleased to hear that you are satisfied with the support provided to mum. It is important for us that family feel comfortable enough to go away, knowing their loved ones are in good hands. It is a pleasure to care for mum and we are grateful for the...
I highly recommend Westmoreland. Each carer who has assisted my dad has been professional warm and caring. They take the time to also talk to mum nothing is too much trouble. The office back up is also excellent.
We have been and still are very pleased with the help and support always given by the carers. My partner, the client, has become accepting of the fact that he needs personal care, after initial resistance to the idea. It is very necessary to have a small team of regular carers with whom he can relax.
The care coordinator did a home visit and then a follow up with the team of carers who would be looking after my mum to meet her and familiarised themselves with the surroundings.
The attitude, behaviour and level of care and empathy shown by all the carers was exemplary and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
Excellent service, including understanding and patient carers. Timely visits, good understanding of needs to be met. High standard of care provided.
Bloody fantastic, staff excellent.
In the period since Westmorland started helping my mother to look after my father the staff have been nothing but brilliant. They are friendly, reliable, on time.
My dad doesn't have dementia, but is infirm and almost deaf due to catching covid last year, but they have never showed any irritation or exasperation when he is slow to understand or sit/stand when they need him to while tending to his needs.
They are always happy to help out in other ways (cups of tea, toast, washing up) and always offer to help my mum with other household tasks, too.
And just as importantly, my mum likes all the carers, and has said so several times.
If you want a care service that puts the person first no matter how complex there needs this is the one for you
Excellent service from caring and professional staff.
I have found the staff very reliable & trustworthy, nice & friendly. Would recommend them.
We have received help from Westmorland Homecare for 6 months. My husband is a very private person but the carers gained his confidence right from the start. He and I feel entirely happy with his care by the regular carers. Having familiar people is a great plus point for my husband, who has dementia. The carers have also helped me with housekeeping and everything asked of them cheerfully and at a high standard. They are mature people who understand our situation. We cannot praise Westmorland, their management and staff enough.
Everything is very good.
Review went very satisfactory - my wife (the client) and I (husband) have been very pleased with all the staff visited on care and punctuality. I told a staff member I had passed a Westmorland brochure to another potential client, who has since been visited by an Westmorland employee. The family were very pleased with what they had heard and read.
We have found all dealings with this company in regards to my Dad's care very efficient, friendly and helpful. He especially finds one carer in particular has a good sense of humour plus two other staff members in particular show plenty of initiative in helping around the house. Their visits perk the day up for him and help my Mum's domestic load. All the staff are lovely people who are happy to be looking after Dad. The office staff are very responsive too and look to sort out problems even going as far as contacting pharmacies to help sort out meds. Thanks guys. We all really appreciate you.
I have found the staff to be very efficient and helpful and have no problems with the service provided.
Very happy with all aspects of Westmorland's care, from the office staff who are helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The carers have all been matched to my father and mother's needs and we have a wonderful team of carers - they do excellent care and are always cheerful and respect both my parents' needs. We have no concerns with any aspect of Westmorland's care and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thank you to everyone at Westmorland.
We have had Westmorland Homecare support for just under 3 years and in that time Mum has received excellent care and support and has never been let down. 100% reliability and as a family we fully trust Westmorland Care. It is hard to allow carers in to look after a relative, but we need not have worried. Mum enjoys the visits from her carers and sees them as friends. Thank you Westmorland Homecare.
My neighbour/friend has been using Westmorland since 2019. As my friend's health deteriorated, I saw the carers more regularly, doing different things like taking her out. Previously, she had been doing things independently but was unable. The carers were so friendly; my friend enjoyed her time out with them. They arranged birthday parties for her and all the carers attended. I even got asked to go. She went to social events, and the impact it had on my friend was incredible. She had no local family, the only people she got to see were myself and the carers. She couldn't wait for their visits. I have put this review on because you hear many bad stories about care. I have heard many from other friends, but the ladies here always seemed cheerful and happy to help. One even assisted me in taking some shopping into my house. My friend sadly passed away at the age of 100, and all the carers attended her funeral, which I thought was such a lovely touch. They sure gave her something to smile about in her last years.
All carers and company are excellent.

Meet the Team (2)
When I started my journey with Westmorland Homecare I was new to care and it was something I had never done before. However, I quickly settled into my role as an HCA and loved my day-to-day duties, loved seeing all my regular clients and helping them stay independent.
After 12 months of being with Westmorland, I was offered a Senior position and my favourite duty was mentoring and guiding new HCAs. I loved this opportunity because it is really rewarding and there’s nothing better than seeing their confidence grow just like mine did.
After 18 months I found out I had been shortlisted for an award at the Great British Care Awards for ‘Newcomer to care’! Needless to say, this was a huge surprise!
I am over the moon to have been promoted to Care manager leading our very special team.
I have always been passionate about Health and Social care since being in high school where I did my work placement in a Care Home looking after people with dementia. I loved the aspect of making a positive difference to people and always trying to enhance their lives, reflecting on this I then decided to go to college and study my Level 3 in Health & Social Care. During my education, I had the pleasure of completing a work placement at the hospital looking after the elderly and in a care home.
Post College I then completed 100 hours of work placement combined working as a student nurse at Clifton hospital giving rehabilitation to patients enabling them to safely get back to living at home and at the day surgery unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Doing work placement and working in lots of different environments allowed me to work alongside lots of different people and gain lots of experience and confidence.
I have worked full time in a Care Home with Dementia residents and this opened my eyes to how much great, person-centred care can impact the individuals lives and their families too. It made me want to be the best carer I could be and give them the best quality of life. I then moved on to Domiciliary care and eventually found my way to Westmorland homecare as a carer. I have loved every minute of working for this company and loved building relationships with the clients and treating them as if they were my family.
I am now a Recruitment Coordinator for the company, and I want to do everything I can to recruit the best carers to ensure the clients are getting the best care possible, whilst ensuring the carers receive all the support they need. I look forward to chatting with you.
