The staff at Ashwell are truly remarkable. From first contact, when we had a visit to discuss needs, to our first visit earlier this year and now weekly visits, they have been lovely people to interact with. We have a lady who does Mum's shower each week and she is so good, gentle, caring, respectful. Of course, she can't always come if on holiday or unwell and the other ladies who have come have also been wonderful. It's so heartwarming to see people who love their jobs and are so caring with my mum.

I can definitely recommend Ashwell's.

From the first telephone call I made to the care team, all requests and appointments were up to and over expectations. Appointment times were met with punctuality which for someone who works within the service industry is an absolute must and as I know not easy to achieve.
From the initial consultation, it was made very clear on my mother's behalf that the care at home would not be a long-term requirement as my mother prides herself on her independence and at 87, a force to be reckoned with. However, this was accepted willingly by the team and gave me more confidence with the flexibility of care.
I know that Mum is happy and has already said that when she needs care (if!) she would only be too happy to contact Ashwell Home Care Services again.

We wish you all the best for the future. (I actually live in Spain) and Mum is in Malvern and to have updates etc all the time is great. Thank You.

Dealing with the team was very good and carers have been excellent. They have in all cases been kind and considerate. The management has been friendly and introduced any new carers to my wife prior to them starting.

Overall Experience

My mother has been having twice weekly visits (since August 2024) by Ashwell Home Care Services to help her put on compression stockings. The carers have all been very good and always leave her comfortable. She also enjoys the social side of the visits especially now she is housebound and has few visitors. She has had a number of different carers but Ashwell makes sure the new carer is introduced to her by someone she has already met. Very pleased with the level of care to date.

Unsure whether or not care at this stage was actually needed, we started home care for Dad for nothing more than half an hour of 'doing random things' two months ago, as he was simply getting annoyed at not being able to do everything for himself (like hoovering and changing the bed). Ashwells met us all, explained what they could offer and what we (and Dad) would like, and - amazingly - instantly set up a regular, reliable daily half-hour 'check-in' for Dad with the carer (who deserves a mention) plus just a handful of other carers, all of whom Dad is just bowled over with - they just do so much in so little time and there's been a few occasions where Dad has had to nudge them on to their next job because they just love doing these things and are in no rush to go!

From our experience, Ashwells is 5-star for anyone who wants - or needs - just a teeny bit of help or someone to pop in and say 'hi' when (in our case) Dad is still mostly able.

Overall Experience
We acquired Ashwell some months ago for my dad's care. He has 4 visits a day and all involve personal care. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are always kind to Dad and treat him with dignity. Beyond that though, they notice any changes in his health and mood and escalate as needed.
They are also brilliant with their communication. Not only are their daily logs detailed but they will call and/or email if they have any concerns.

I don't think my dad could be looked after any better. He adores them, always a good sign!

Overall Experience

Ashwells started looking after my in-laws nearly 12 months ago and we were impressed with the quality of service compared with a previous agency. They always came when they said they would and did what we asked. There were no missing visits due to staff absences which was very refreshing. The consistent team was friendly, respectful, and proactive. My in-laws have recently moved into a care home as sadly their needs became too much for us to safely manage in their own home (Parkinson's and Dementia). Ashwells were helpful during this transition period, in particular picking up shifts at the 11th hour when the move date changed at the last minute. We wish we'd found them sooner and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality care for their loved ones at home. Thank you Team Ashwells.

Ashwell advertises caring for your relative as though they are part of the family and this care agency does succeed in having the personal touch that makes you feel you and your loved one are more than just a number.
The app they use is an excellent way of knowing what care has been given and how your loved one is on that particular day.
Any changes in the care are updated quickly and efficiently to the app, so notify all staff.
Staff in the office are friendly, supportive and approachable.
The carers we have notice things you would as a relative and address them, and don't just leave things. This may include leaving notes for me or via an escalation to the office, or notes on the app.
They take the time to chat with your loved one which is as vital as the physical care they receive.
The apartment is always left immaculate and Mum with plenty of snacks and drinks to keep her going.

When there was an emergency and an ambulance was called, the carer was outstanding.

I cannot praise Ashwell enough, from the managing director and the care quality director helping us work out my mother-in-law's care needs at the beginning through to the great care team who were kind, patient, and very caring with my mother-in-law. She liked every one of them very much, even if she couldn't remember their names! Recently my mother-in-law had to be taken to A&E, on release we reached out to Ashwell for help, they didn't hesitate and 'pulled out all the stops' to arrange some extra care visits within hours of our call. Not only can you rely on Ashwell to take excellent care of your loved ones, they are also there when the wider family needs help and support. Thank you 'Team Ashwell'!

We have felt fully supported by the excellent service Ashwells has provided for our family since we first approached them a year ago. Our relationship with the managerial staff and carers has helped provide effective, timely, and above all kind care. In addition, the manager's knowledge, from their expertise over many years, has signposted us to other services which has been invaluable. Our parents have live-in care which is further supported by Ashwell carers. They have consistently, seamlessly, and respectively fitted in. This service provider has been paramount in my mother's well-being and care, always willing to go that extra mile and supporting her with a smile and professional care. My mother looked forward to her visits and care and looked upon the team more as friends than just a care service.

My elderly mum has always been fiercely independent, wanting to stay in the family home she loves. Last year Mum was really struggling. It was taking her hours to get washed & dressed in the morning. Mum finally agreed to help but didn't want lots of strangers turning up, she has a Stoma and needs specialised help with it. We got in touch with the manager at Ashwell Home Care. She came out to assess Mum's needs. The manager was practical and immediately knew how she could help, setting up a care plan. She introduced us to two wonderful members of staff.

Six months later we can't speak highly enough of these two special ladies who take care of Mum without taking over. She enjoys every visit. When one's away a lovely third lady covers. Mum loves the consistency of knowing who is coming every day. They have exceeded our expectations. They treat Mum with respect and dignity and make her laugh in the process. I can't say how great it is to have such brilliant carers! Thanks.

The management team demonstrates an evident passion to deliver excellent, bespoke care. Staff are carefully recruited and much valued.

My 98-year-old dad was discharged from hospital still recovering from a severe chest infection, we the family were only able to give practical help, he needed more. I was lucky enough to be able to engage Ashwell to make a daily visit to help with his personal needs and keep the flat tidy. The Director, the Manager and the team have been wonderful, always punctual and reliable, easy to communicate with, and showing a genuine interest in dad's welfare. He has now made a good recovery, I'd like to give huge thanks for the care provided, and would wholeheartedly recommend Ashwell Home Care Services.

Ashwell Home Care is the platinum standard service other care providers should aim for. They select and recruit staff very carefully as a first point. Then no member of staff visits my parents' home unless they have been introduced to them and new staff always shadow another to learn about my father. They have robust documentation so that all carers know the individual care my dad needs. They respond appropriately to changes in his condition and treat him at every interaction with respect, dignity and compassion. My mother is his primary carer and Ashwell Home Care support her incredibly in this role and day-to-day. Ashwell provide respite care and shopping to my parents in addition to personal care for my father. The management is present and hands on which means they have a good working knowledge of the care needed and being provided. We are very grateful for their support over the last couple of years and they go above and beyond every day.

Exceptional! From the initial discussions with Ashwell right through to the day-to-day support they are now providing we have found them to be first-class. They were quick to meet the initial requirements that have rapidly turned into additional support morning and evening, 7 days a week. Ashwell have come up quickly with a plan that meets these increasing needs. 5 stars to the whole team, very importantly every carer has been professional, friendly, easily accepted and demonstrated that they really do care. The manager is really approachable, knows what she's doing and has built a great team under her both at the coalface and in the office.

What inspired me to open Ashwell Home Care Services ?

Prior to my husband and I opening Ashwell Home Care Services I had been working as a Deputy Manager in a Residential Care Home. I realised that although the staff who worked there were competent and caring there were inconsistencies in the level of care and support given. My husband’s family had received care at home and the experience was not always good, this put pressure on us as a family as we weren’t involved or consulted by the agencies they used.

We felt that there was a real gap in the market for a care agency who wanted to transform the way that care is delivered in the community. Also, where the person receiving the care was made to feel like the most special person in the world and where we involved their families so that we could work together to improve the quality of the lives of those receiving the care. With this as our goal Ashwell Home Care Services was started and our journey began.

I started working in the Care sector over 20 years ago as a night care assistant and immediately knew that I had found my calling. My mother tells me that when I was a child, I wanted to be a doctor, not one who did injections or operations but one who helped people who weren’t feeling well and did what I could to make them better. It took me 2 children and a 17 year career working in the Travel Industry to realise my dream and now I spend every day making a difference to the people that we care for and support and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT WE DO!

I am passionate about working with our clients and their families to improve their quality of life and to keep them living in their own homes for as long as they can. I also love being a voice for clients who haven’t got any family to rely on to make sure that they get the care they deserve. It gives me a great deal of pride to work alongside my husband and our daughter as well as our amazing team to offer a truly family focussed and driven experience and to make a real difference to the people we support.

I know first-hand what it's like to have your loved one receive care that is sub-par as this is what happened when my mum needed care towards the end of her life. I first started my journey in care at 15 years old visiting a local Nursing home and taking around tea after school and at weekends.

I then when I left school was given a full-time job there and while there, went and did Auxiliary training at the Royal East Sussex Hospital.

I have always worked in care for the last 45 years in various roles in a Hospice, I moved from East Sussex to Gloucestershire in 1989.

To work as a Manager both on a residential farm with Adults with learning disabilities, and then in various Domiciliary care settings.

Care is in my blood written right through me like a stick of rock.

My Career Highlights - Enabling positive transitions for adults with learning difficulties to move successfully from long stay institutions, to living active and positive lives within the community, supporting them to obtain work or work experience and achieve their goals preferences and wishes, with the opportunity for the ability to move onto supported semi independent living, and eventually where appropriate complete independent living within the community.

Enabling elderly and frail adults to be supported by carers delivering quality care, enabling and supporting them to be empowered to be at the centre of their person centred care, and to maintain their or increase their independence for as long as possible, so as to be able to remain in their own home for as long as they wish safely. Supporting and enabling End of Life Care to take place at home, and working alongside other professionals involved to achieve an individual’s and their family`s wishes, aspirations, preferences, choices and goals, for a positive end of life experience for all

I have a partner who used to be a flat race jockey, and we now have Appaloosa horses, whom we show, breed and are both ridden and driven, they are sports horses who do well in, Dressage and show jumping, and we also have an amazing but very old short legged jack Russell.

My Role at the moment is Care Quality Manager at AHCS

I am quite new to the company joining in January 2024 and I love the family feel of the company, the the care that is embedded throughout the company for not just the client but the staff as well. It's a real team environment with a great sense of humour and laughter at its core.
