I cannot begin to rate Ashwell Care highly enough. The level of care that they provide for my mum is second to none, and living abroad, I have complete peace of mind that Mum is happy, healthy and looked after as if she is their own family member. In addition to this, I regularly use the app which allows me to download reports daily to see what Mum has been getting up to, check that she has been drinking enough and eating enough! Any time my siblings and I have had concerns that Mum is forgetting to eat or drink, the Ashwell team have provided solutions and put in extra steps in their care plan to ensure that Mum has everything she needs. They are extremely knowledgable, and they care for and love Mum as much as we do, and for that, we are extremely grateful. We cannot thank the team at Ashwell enough for the outstanding level of care they give to my Mum; they are an amazing team and truly the most lovely people.

Overall Experience

Like any daughter considering introducing carers into a parent's world, I was extremely conscious of ensuring my mother would be cared for, kept safe and treated with the kindness and respect she deserves. Ashwell delivered all this and handled our changing needs and short notice requests with good grace and good advice. The carers who visited mum were well selected and very professional, some of them even made mum laugh. The management team is experienced, knowledgeable and keen to help. I was always confident that if there was something we didn't like they would have listened to our concerns and worked with us to resolve it.

My family and I are delighted with the outstanding care our Mum receives from Ashwell Home Care services. They go above and beyond their duties, are compassionate, caring and efficient. Mum loves them all and through their empathetic approach has built great relationships and is now undertaking tasks she previously found difficult. The agency stepped in after Mum had a fall and really needed help. The regular staff are described as cheerful, lovely and "make her day". At a time when we are not able to visit or have Mum to stay Ashwell staff have kept Mum cheerful and given us reassurance that someone is seeing her each day and looking out for her. Mum became interested in a painting television programme recently and was very pleased that her regular carer talked with her about this. When she ran out of teabags they arrived the next day. Doing the ironing has been getting harder and harder for Mum. The staff have stepped in to help without any fuss. I think we struck really lucky with this agency!

Since being introduced to them, Ashwell Home Care Services have been nothing short of amazing! They are always at hand should any questions be needed, and the whole team are very easy to talk too. We get regular updates for my mum through the app provided, which is a great extra feature used by them. My mum loves the visits made by Ashwell, and they are always able to put a smile on her face! They definitely have my mum's best interests at heart.

My mum and myself are delighted with the service. Carers go above and beyond to make my mum's life comfortable - she would like to give them all gold stars! She has adapted well to having carers and it is all down to the friendly and professional service provided, nothing is too much trouble. Ashwell Home Care Services are excellent - I can't say it any other way.
The compassion, professionalism and person-centred practice of all the carers and the leadership team is astounding. Everyone 'gets it'.
We are all so grateful for their time and wise counsel at a very difficult time and their calm and methodical approach to solving problems is exemplary.
All the carers have formed trusted relationships with our parents - for which Mum and Dad are very grateful.

We are very satisfied with the care that my husband is getting. They are very caring. They are polite and nothing is too much trouble. Even the bosses are very caring and come to check on how things are going and if we are satisfied and make sure that the carers are doing their job properly, and if there are any complaints which I think that is the thing. This is our first experience of having carers for my Mum and I am extremely impressed with the professionalism of all staff at Ashwell Home Care Services. They truly put the client at the front of everything they do and are excellent at keeping the family updated with what is taking place. They have been incredibly proactive with also making changes and suggestions for the best of the client.
Mum was initially very resistant to having help, despite needing it. Since Ashwell Home Care Services have been assisting her, she has been so happy, positive and forward-leaning with their whole approach. They do their very best to keep her independent.
The peace of mind having them helping Mum is second to none. I would not hesitate for one second to recommend their services to anyone else.

The managers and their team of carers are fabulous and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
Punctual, efficient, hardworking, friendly, trustworthy – everything you would hope a care provider would be... BUT it’s the added service that makes them exceptional. They really do care and are so helpful as nothing is too much trouble – all with a smile and a chat.

If there is a problem, they want to solve it. They are dedicated to making their clients comfortable and happy. My mother is blossoming under their care and I am so grateful to them.

What inspired me to open Ashwell Home Care Services ?

Prior to my husband and I opening Ashwell Home Care Services I had been working as a Deputy Manager in a Residential Care Home. I realised that although the staff who worked there were competent and caring there were inconsistencies in the level of care and support given. My husband’s family had received care at home and the experience was not always good, this put pressure on us as a family as we weren’t involved or consulted by the agencies they used.

We felt that there was a real gap in the market for a care agency who wanted to transform the way that care is delivered in the community. Also, where the person receiving the care was made to feel like the most special person in the world and where we involved their families so that we could work together to improve the quality of the lives of those receiving the care. With this as our goal Ashwell Home Care Services was started and our journey began.

I started working in the Care sector over 20 years ago as a night care assistant and immediately knew that I had found my calling. My mother tells me that when I was a child, I wanted to be a doctor, not one who did injections or operations but one who helped people who weren’t feeling well and did what I could to make them better. It took me 2 children and a 17 year career working in the Travel Industry to realise my dream and now I spend every day making a difference to the people that we care for and support and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHAT WE DO!

I am passionate about working with our clients and their families to improve their quality of life and to keep them living in their own homes for as long as they can. I also love being a voice for clients who haven’t got any family to rely on to make sure that they get the care they deserve. It gives me a great deal of pride to work alongside my husband and our daughter as well as our amazing team to offer a truly family focussed and driven experience and to make a real difference to the people we support.

I know first-hand what it's like to have your loved one receive care that is sub-par as this is what happened when my mum needed care towards the end of her life. It's because of this experience that Ashwell Home Care Services was founded from a desire to provide a level of care that transforms the way in which care is delivered within the community.

I'm a Business Support Executive and part of the Ashwell family. As well as doing HR and Finance I sometimes go out into the community to visit our lovely clients. My name is Sandy Wisby, I was born in Hastings - East Sussex and have a younger sister.

I first started my journey in care at 15 years old visiting a local Nursing home and taking around tea after school and at weekends.

I then when I left school was given a full-time job there and while there, went and did Auxiliary training at the Royal East Sussex Hospital.

I have always worked in care for the last 45 years in various roles in a Hospice, I moved from East Sussex to Gloucestershire in 1989.

To work as a Manager both on a residential farm with Adults with learning disabilities, and then in various Domiciliary care settings.

Care is in my blood written right through me like a stick of rock.

My Career Highlights - Enabling positive transitions for adults with learning difficulties to move successfully from long stay institutions, to living active and positive lives within the community, supporting them to obtain work or work experience and achieve their goals preferences and wishes, with the opportunity for the ability to move onto supported semi independent living, and eventually where appropriate complete independent living within the community.

Enabling elderly and frail adults to be supported by carers delivering quality care, enabling and supporting them to be empowered to be at the centre of their person centred care, and to maintain their or increase their independence for as long as possible, so as to be able to remain in their own home for as long as they wish safely. Supporting and enabling End of Life Care to take place at home, and working alongside other professionals involved to achieve an individual’s and their family`s wishes, aspirations, preferences, choices and goals, for a positive end of life experience for all

I have a partner who used to be a flat race jockey, and we now have Appaloosa horses, whom we show, breed and are both ridden and driven, they are sports horses who do well in, Dressage and show jumping, and we also have an amazing but very old short legged jack Russell.

My Role at the moment is Care Quality Manager at AHCS

I am quite new to the company joining in January 2024 and I love the family feel of the company, the the care that is embedded throughout the company for not just the client but the staff as well. It's a real team environment with a great sense of humour and laughter at its core.
