I have worked with many home care providers over the years, and Home Instead stands out in every respect. Their carers and management team consistently deliver an exceptional standard of care, combining professionalism, compassion, and genuine dedication to client wellbeing.

Communication is excellent;

they keep me fully informed through various methods, ensuring reassurance and transparency at all times. I have complete confidence and peace of mind whenever my client is in their care-whether at home, attending social activities, shopping trips, or holidays away.

Although their fees are higher than some providers, the quality, reliability, and attention to detail more than justify the cost. I would highly recommend Home Instead for their outstanding service and commitment to excellence.

While Dad has only been in receipt of help from Home Instead for a few weeks, I cannot fault the care and assistance provided so far. The carers arrive promptly every day and help with dressing, personal care and catheter management leaving Mum time to get herself ready for the day. After spending a
long period of time in hospital and then respite care we weren't sure whether Dad would be able to come home and Mum would be able to cope - with the help of Home Instead our worries have been put aside, Dad is so much happier and enjoying life again, Mum is reassured that she has the help she needs and as a daughter living many miles away I have been able to relax a little and cut down on the trips up and down the M1. It is good to know that we can step up his care plan as and when this is needed. Thank you to all the carers who look after Dad with such kindness and respect.

My wife suffers from Lewy Bodies dementia, which was formally diagnosed some 5 years ago, and increasingly requires managed care. Currently this is in the mornings to help her with getting up tasks and then generally some social contact by walking into Beverley centre for a coffee and to provide some
respite for myself.
The process leading up to this level of care was very well managed, our needs were understood and the matching of carers to my wife well conducted. Home Instead really do understand the impacts that this form of dementia has on the person affected, and indeed on those around that person.
The degree of care provided by the carers that have been matched to my wife's needs is very good.
I have absolutely no qualms about recommending this carers organisation for others in similar situations.

My aunt has had Catherine as her main companion for nearly 2 years now I think - and she's brilliant. She is as attentive and considerate of my aunt as we would be ourselves, and my aunt always says she's had a good giggle and natter. Catherine aids my aunt with shopping and little trips out and any
little jobs in the home she may have time for. The ability for my aunt to be able to get out is the priority for us, as her mobility is really poor and most of the family work so don't have the capability to get her out so regularly as we'd like to. My aunt has always been sociable & a keen talker - Catherine is very patient and very quickly got the measure of my aunt. The partnership works great.
My aunt loves the monthly social gathering, and has found the staff to be super helpful ensuring my aunt knows when it's on.
Everyone in the office has always been helpful and quick to reply to messages.
Zero complaints - very happy clients !!
Reply from Mandy Aitken, Managing Director at Home Instead Beverley & HullThank you so much for the lovely review. The team have really enjoyed supporting your aunt and getting to know her even better at the socials.

My mum has been having carers for over a year now. The help and support they give my mum has been invaluable. She has become very fond of all the carers, and always looks forward to them coming. They have taken on a lot of the roles I had been trying to fulfil, but with living over 80 miles away it
was becoming increasingly difficult. She has daily visits apart from a Sunday. They are so lovely to her, and both the carers and mum are in a good routine now. Mum's eyesight is rapidly deteriorating and with the help of the carers we are still able to keep her safely at home. Thank you team, you will never realise how appreciative we, her family are!!

Decided on Home Instead as they were highly recommended, to provide a couple of hours care a week . In order to give a bit of respite care for the main care giver and myself . The whole process is friendly and very professional . All questions were answered thoroughly . The initial meeting at home was
great . Home Instead were very careful to match their Carers to the person needing care . We have found this a excellent service, their Carer matched is amazing, always finding new ways to interact . Fantastic match . I cant recommend Home Instead enough . All staff are highly trained, and the care given is amazing .

Home Instead was recommended to me by a friend, who was a relative of a service user and what a great recommendation it was too. My Mum first starting using them in April 2024 just for an hour in the morning to get her up and dressed and ready for the day.
Her health unfortunately deteriorated and
she had a spell in hospital in July and could only be discharged with a care package of 4 visits a day which they set up at very short notice. My Mum soon formed a close bond with all of the carers and they looked after her with care and compassion in a friendly yet professional way. Nothing was too much trouble and mum, as well as myself, always felt reassured by their presence. The staff in the office were also very friendly and efficient and kept me informed at all times of any changes. They also immediately implemented any changes that I wanted. The App is an excellent way of keeping me up to date about every visit and activity and I thoroughly recommend them.
Reply from Mandy Aitken, Managing Director at Home Instead Beverley & HullThank you so much for your review. The team felt privileged to be able to support your mum to fulfil her desire to remain at home.

Home Instead have been just brilliant at supporting Dad as he moved back home after 6 months of being in hospital and respite care. They have helped him with everything from managing his catheter issues and administering his tablets, to his personal care and keeping him on track with daily life, whilst
also managing to keep the house tidy and clean, no mean feat with Dad! All of this is done with such professionalism, kindness and patience, showing great respect and care.
The App is fabulous and helps me to see how Dad is doing each day, enabling me to address any issues but also as a daughter who doesn't live that close to Dad, gives me peace of mind that all is well.
The head office staff always answer the phone and are so helpful. I have changed the hours Dad has a few times over the months to match his needs and they always do their upmost to accommodate me. I have not met a more caring bunch of people than this team of individuals - I'm so grateful I found them!

My dad's home care plan was all set up and active within a few days. My dad and myself are really pleased with what Home Instead Beverley & Hull have put in place. The work carried out is so much appreciated. Very friendly and helpful visitors makes life so much easier for my dad with each visit. As
I don't live nearby to my dad, I still can access what has been carried out etc using the very useful app. It gives a complete run down of all work carried out and raises any concerns the visitor may have. I would certainly recommend Home Instead Beverley & Hull to anyone who requires this type of service.

We are so thankful we chose Home Instead Beverly as the care agency to support my mum who has dementia. They are of course not only a support to my mum, but to my dad who is her full-time carer and to us, her children, who live such a long distance away. The manager and support staff are always responsive
and reassuring, you get the feeling they have done this many times before. If visits have to be changed or cancelled they have been excellent in their communication. The carers that visit my mum have been exceptional, particularly her regular carer who shows compassion and kindness and shares just the right amount of stories and humour to brighten my mum's day. Thank you to you all.

From the outset, Home Instead Beverley and Hull delivered exemplary care that allowed my Mum to comfortably remain in her home. Initially hesitant, Mum's trust was quickly won over by the carers' patience and gentle approach. As her needs escalated, so did the level of support, eventually encompassing
near round-the-clock care from a compassionate team. They adeptly managed daily tasks like washing, dressing, medication, and meal preparation, easing Mum into accepting help and building a strong foundation of trust and comfort. As Mum's requirements grew, the team adapted seamlessly, providing continuous care and nurturing her emotional and mental well-being, especially during the more difficult times. The support staff at the Beverley office were consistently exceptional, and always ready to assist, which was greatly appreciated. Home Instead's team deeply enriched our lives with their kindness and professionalism, leaving a profound and lasting impact even after Mum's passing.

The Home Instead team began caring for my mum following an operation in early May. Mum was a little nervous at first but as she says, she doesn't know what she was worried about! The carers are all excellent and the time and care taken with Mum is outstanding. Appointments are always bang on time and
nothing is too much trouble. The carers themselves say that it is the best company they have worked for so they clearly have everyone's best interests at heart, clients and staff alike. Home Instead is a first-class company and I can't praise them highly enough.

What can I say, this service is way beyond my expectations. I live abroad with my mum in the UK and needed peace of mind that she was being cared for after an operation. The manager put the care plan in place at extremely short notice and the communication has been exceptional throughout. one staff
member has been a wonderful carer to my mum, making her nutritious meals, helping her with exercises, and helping with duties in the house. The companionship has also been fantastic and I know they get on so well. Having an app to monitor what has taken place is brilliant especially because I live so far away, and the quality assurance of follow-ups and phone calls just shows how the company want to ensure their clients are happy with their care. I can’t praise you all highly enough, thank you so much!

The companionship service delivered to my mum has been first class. The people they send are always excellent, particularly her carer. The support from the office is always good and responsive to any questions or requests I make to them. They proactively keep me informed of any changes or any worries

As a family, we have never had any experience of home care and so it was a new adventure to be explored. Home Instead Beverley were extremely professional and supportive to us all and were able to put in place a suitable care package to meet the needs of my father in a relatively short time for which
I am extremely grateful.
I cannot fault the excellent level of care provided to my father and the patience and support given to my mother and I by the care professional team, as we got used to the changes in my father's health.
The notes made by the carers and available to read on the app provide useful information about my father from every visit, which is invaluable as I live a long way from my parents.
The office team are extremely responsive in dealing with queries and requests. It cannot be underestimated how important this is in reducing the levels of stress and anxiety that are related to having a parent with failing health.
I cannot recommend the team highly enough.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.935 for Home Instead Beverley & Hull is calculated as follows: ( (102 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.935
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.5 Points for the second and third Positive Reviews, 0.25 Points for each of the next two Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.05, 7th = 0.05, 8th = 0.05, 9th = 0.05, 10th = 0.05, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Home Instead Beverley & Hull is based on 18 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4.95
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hi, I’m Mandy, the Managing Director of Home Instead in the Beverley & Hull area. I was born and raised in the U.S., then married a Yorkshireman so have lived in the UK since 2005. After many years of working in the financial services sector, I was very eager to find a way to do something that would benefit my community. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to bring the outstanding standard of care provided by Home Instead to our area. I love the values of the company and the positive effect we can have on the lives of our clients and their families.

I will use my years of experience in project management, human resources and training to establish an incredible team of compassionate individuals who want to hit the ground running and provide the care we would expect for our own families. We take our time on calls to make sure that as well as providing much-needed assistance, we can also spend quality time building trusting relationships with our clients, so that we can help them to continue to live their life in the way they want, regardless of their age.

Hi, I’m Caroline. I was born and raised in Beverley. I have a love of animals and I enjoy reading and baking (although I am not up to Bake Off standard!), but I often try out new recipes on my friends and family.
After 10 years of working in the pharmaceutical company, I made the big decision to have a complete change of career, enter Home Instead! I am thoroughly enjoying my new role. It is wonderful to work for a company whose ethics are clearly seen from how they engage with their staff to the care they provide to our clients, even to have a small role in that is extremely satisfying. I love spending time with my own grandparents and appreciate the special part they play in family life. This encourages me in my work, because I know I am supporting a service that looks after our clients the same way we would look after our own loved ones.
