My wife had severe generalised osteoarthritis and was becoming more disabled. A friend mentioned Home Instead so we got in touch. Whole hour slots seemed impressive and the willingness to tackle almost anything sounded helpful. We were quickly aware of the reliability and helpfulness of their staff
even when she became weaker and eventually died at home. Empathy and willingness to help were evident to the end. I was partially paralysed after a stroke so I now knew how to get immediate and sympathetic help as I became less mobile myself. Without exception their service has been impeccable.

The manager arranged to assess my dad who has Alzheimer's and was very thorough and understanding of his needs and has paired him up with his carer who is kind and caring and includes Dad in all his conversations.
We are delighted with their service and could not recommend them highly enough.

We have been receiving care from Home Instead since July and have been extremely pleased with their service. Care was provided as soon as requested and the service has been reliable, friendly and professional. We are kept informed at all times and can use the excellent app for more detailed information.
Replacement cover has been provided for our regular carer's holidays. All the carers have been so helpful. We have never been let down and we cannot fault the company in any way and highly recommend them to anyone in need of a very caring service.
Reply from Mandy Aitken, Managing Director at Home Instead Beverley & HullThank you very much for your kind words. It really means a lot to us to know that you're happy with the support we're providing.

Home Instead Beverley & Hull have been providing care for my parents over the last 3 months. The carers are extremely reliable and provide a range of support activities in a friendly, professional and respectful manner. There is a brilliant app that helps me stay up to date with visit activities. The
office staff are very efficient and easy to contact. Most importantly my parents are extremely happy with the care they receive. I would not hesitate to recommend.

I feel so much more safe, and protected since joining Home Instead Beverley & Hull. I am just helped with hoovering and bed linen change each week. As I age and develop further needs for practical help it will give me peace of mind to know this can be arranged.
The helpers I have met are so reassuring
and warm-hearted. To be in a clean home is a morale booster that I'm enjoying so much. Arthritis makes it painful for me to do hoovering. Thanks to all involved.

I could not fault the team at Home Instead. After my father's stroke they were able to provide help almost immediately and their flexible service significantly reduced the worry for myself and my brother. We were very happy with all aspects of care and would not hesitate to use Home Instead in the future.
Many thanks!

After my father had stayed with us in April it became apparent that he would need some care and support in his own home, as we live some distance apart. Within 24 hours of contacting Home Instead, cover had been arranged for an almost immediate start. The carers are attentive and discreet, the mobile
app is reassuring and allows me to keep up to date with his care. There is excellent communication from the office and nothing has been too much trouble. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We have been delighted with the care and support Mum has received to date and as family we have felt re-assured by the competence and responsiveness of her carers and of the managers we have worked with, to set up our current package. The app is excellent and allows us to see exactly what has happened
on each visit. At the moment Mum receives two visits of an hour per week to help her with her personal care, a little meal prep and some light housework, however it is very reassuring to know that we can add to this should Mum's needs change. All the carers Mum has met have been kind, friendly and professional in approach and are clearly interested in getting to know her and establishing a good relationship with her. We feel confident that they are focused on her and her welfare throughout the visits. We are very pleased with our choice of Home Instead Beverley & Hull and have recommended to several people on the basis of our experience.
Reply from Mandy Aitken, Director at Home Instead Beverley & HullThank you so much for your comments. We are so pleased to be able to support your mum. She is a lovely lady who all the Caregivers really enjoy visiting. Many thanks!

When making initial enquiries we wanted to ensure that Home Instead could offer flexible support for Dad, ensuring his independence wasn't taken away but that he received the support he needed and the routines he was familiar with were maintained. Home Instead gave us time to talk through our queries
and concerns responding appropriately, always with our Dad's best interests at heart. They found a caregiver who was understanding and adapted to Dad's needs and recognised that time is needed to build a relationship of trust between the caregiver and dad, maintaining close contact with us to ensure visits run smoothly. We are very impressed so far with the professionalism and caring, patient nature of Dad's caregiver. For us it was important to find an organisation that put Dad at the centre of what they do, was reliable, flexible and responsive to our comments and dad’s needs and for this reason, we would highly recommend Home Instead.

In August 2020 my siblings and I decided that we needed more care for our elderly parents than we alone were able to provide. After speaking to several Care Agencies we decided that Home Instead were the best fit for our parents' requirements. The service provided by Home Instead; both by Caregivers
and the office team, has been efficient, professional and caring from the start. We are pleased that a fairly small number of Caregivers work with our parents in a very caring but professional manner. Seeing the same people regularly has enabled a good rapport to develop between our parents and the Caregivers. Our father has Vascular Dementia and our mother has type one Diabetes and the Caregivers have adapted and coped well with our parents' rather complex needs. Our parents are very happy with the support provided by the Home Instead Caregivers, and their presence at the beginning and end of each day is very reassuring for my siblings and I, as we feel that our parents are in safe hands.

From the very beginning of our relationship with Home Instead it has continued to be excellent, professional and flexible. The Management and caregivers have gone above and beyond our expectations in providing care for our elderly father. We appreciate their hard work, particularly during these covid
restrictions.

Home Instead have been providing care for my Dad since July last year. We are delighted with the support he is getting. A team of 4 lovely CareGivers visit and all 4 provide an impressive combination of warm support and professional care. Dad really appreciates the way that the Carers look out for
him, providing useful reminders around his medication, helping him keep his shopping list up to date etc. As a family, we could not be happier with the way that they have fitted in and the relationship they've built with Dad.
I'm also really grateful for the responsive management of the service. Whenever a query arises, or a change is needed to Dad's care, the Care Manager has been fast to reply and to make a change which gives us a lot of confidence for the future as his needs evolve.

My Mum has been using the service for daily visits for 4 or 5 months now. She suffers from a debilitating condition which means she is housebound and needs help getting out of bed, with personal care, preparing meals and going to bed at night. She receives 3 visits a day and benefits greatly from
the care provided. Without it, she would not have been able to remain in her own home. The carers are all lovely people who make a real difference to her life. They are friendly, efficient and clearly care about their clients.

Home Instead has given me peace of mind that a kind, professional carer is checking that my dad is OK every day when I live 2-hours drive away. It means that my father can remain in his own home (which is what he dearly wants) in his older years. It means too that if Dad's support needs change that
the package of care can be easily flexed to accommodate these changes. Home Instead has been totally professional and supportive in their care. They communicate well and consistently. I would not hesitate to highly recommend them.

We have used Home Instead for approximately the last 3 months. The ladies who visit mum are very courteous, arrive on time, and are very good with mum. Mum really looks forward to and enjoys their visits. I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead to anyone. They undertake regular reviews
to ensure mums needs are seen to, adjusting as necessary, for example, due to the darker evenings. Personally, I find the app very useful, this allows me to see how mum is, activities can be modified to suit any changing circumstances.
As stated earlier, I would highly recommend them to anyone. A friend recommended Home Instead to me as they were being used by his parents, this is how I became aware of their excellent service.

my expectations. The quality of care and the sincerity of the caregivers made Dad's last days special. Leaving close family with fond memories.

I began using Home Instead care about a month ago after having been in hospital. At that time I was still very week and needed help with washing myself and general household upkeep. The carer allotted to me is wonderful in so many ways. She makes me feel comfortable about being washed (which I was dreading),
she vacuums, dusts and cleans so cheerfully so that I am never made to feel as if I am imposing by asking for this help. My garden had become pretty weed-infested whilst in hospital and she cheerfully cleaned it all away. I feel truly blessed that my daughter hired Home Instead to help me at this new stage of my life. Furthermore, my carer fetches my medicines if the pharmacy cannot deliver and Home Instead have helped me locate a reliable professional who can fix a safety rail by the back steps. I really recommend them most highly!

Mum has dementia which has got gradually worse since Dad passed away. As myself and my sister work fulltime, we needed initially someone to come in and check on Mum in a morning to make sure she was dressed, had breakfast and taken medication. Mum was reluctant at first but has very quickly got used
to her caregivers and looks forward to seeing them. The mobile app works well and informs us what Mum has been up to and if any foods are running low. Mum particularly enjoyed recently making pancakes with her caregiver. The system works well because you can gradually tailor the care package to suit your individual needs.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.935 for Home Instead Beverley & Hull is calculated as follows: ( (102 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.935
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.5 Points for the second and third Positive Reviews, 0.25 Points for each of the next two Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.05, 7th = 0.05, 8th = 0.05, 9th = 0.05, 10th = 0.05, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Home Instead Beverley & Hull is based on 18 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4.95
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hi, I’m Mandy, the Managing Director of Home Instead in the Beverley & Hull area. I was born and raised in the U.S., then married a Yorkshireman so have lived in the UK since 2005. After many years of working in the financial services sector, I was very eager to find a way to do something that would benefit my community. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to bring the outstanding standard of care provided by Home Instead to our area. I love the values of the company and the positive effect we can have on the lives of our clients and their families.

I will use my years of experience in project management, human resources and training to establish an incredible team of compassionate individuals who want to hit the ground running and provide the care we would expect for our own families. We take our time on calls to make sure that as well as providing much-needed assistance, we can also spend quality time building trusting relationships with our clients, so that we can help them to continue to live their life in the way they want, regardless of their age.

Hi, I’m Caroline. I was born and raised in Beverley. I have a love of animals and I enjoy reading and baking (although I am not up to Bake Off standard!), but I often try out new recipes on my friends and family.
After 10 years of working in the pharmaceutical company, I made the big decision to have a complete change of career, enter Home Instead! I am thoroughly enjoying my new role. It is wonderful to work for a company whose ethics are clearly seen from how they engage with their staff to the care they provide to our clients, even to have a small role in that is extremely satisfying. I love spending time with my own grandparents and appreciate the special part they play in family life. This encourages me in my work, because I know I am supporting a service that looks after our clients the same way we would look after our own loved ones.
