The manager whom I contacted was professional, knowledgeable and experienced. She interacted really well with my uncle at our first meeting and understood his initial hesitancy in having carers. My uncle felt reassured and he agreed with the idea. He hasn't looked back since and thinks he's very lucky to have such friendly carers going in each morning.
The whole team is fantastic, the managers are contactable, helpful and flexible. The App that family members have access to provides us with valuable daily details about each carer's visit, highlighting any problems or needs. This has been extremely useful.
Thank you so much for your feedback. It is always a privilege to work alongside family members with the care and support of their loved ones. Care professionals always look forward to visits as well.
My mother is in the early stages of Alzheimers and lives in her own retirement flat. Since lockdown, she has been unable to go out on her own and is now looked after by caregivers who visit several times a day. We are grateful for the excellent care that Mum receives, enabling her to stay in her flat.
Thank you for the positive feedback. A big thanks to the team supporting, everyone going the extra mile and once again have built an excellent person-centred relationship & care. A privilege to support such a wonderful lady.
Home Instead (Stoke Newington, Leyton and Wanstead) have been fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble and they have been such a support for me and my mum. It has meant a lot to be able to share a little of the responsibility and be able to ask for help. They are flexible and able to adapt to my mum's needs at short notice. I really appreciate everything they have done to help us.
Thank you for your positive feedback. Your mum is a lovely woman and we enjoy supporting you and your mum.
A caring and concerned professional service that is able to adapt quickly to changes in circumstances and need. They are well managed and staffed with well trained and experienced caregivers. Their service allowed me peace of mind that my sister was in good hands.
Thank you for your kind review. It has been a real pleasure supporting your sister and so glad to know that we gave you that peace of mind that she was in good hands.
I was worried about having a third-party organisation paid for my uncle's care. You hear horror stories of jobs not being done or of care not being provided for the full time that is being paid for. I am confident that Home Instead have done their jobs and spent the time with my uncle that they are paid for.
Thank you so much for your review. Your uncle is such a kind man with a good sense of humour, and our caregivers really enjoy being with him.
Cheerful and friendly. Loves my cats.
I had a hip replacement and live alone as my family can't visit.
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback. I am so glad we have been able to support you after your hip replacement.
From the moment I called, the manager was so reassuring and helped me feel safe. This was the first time I had ever looked for a part-time carer for my mum, and it was really nerve-wracking. I was able to discuss my mum's needs and meet the carers before making a decision. Any problems I had, I felt comfortable discussing with the manager and resolving them. Believe me when I say, they really care.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback. Caring is our passion (office staff and caregivers)
The care team were delightful and every effort was made to tailor the support to my specific (and changing) needs. A very positive experience and very friendly. Not easy to invite strangers into your home to care for you but the team made it very easy.
A really lovely lady, thank you so much for your feedback

Meet the Team (3)
My name is Shumana Akhtar, and I am the Care Manager at Home Instead Stoke Newington, Leyton & Wanstead. I have worked in the care industry for over 5 years starting off as a care worker, promoted as Assistant Care Manager and now a Care Manager. I have experience in residential, extra care, and domiciliary care. Whilst working as a Care Worker, I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Wellbeing, achieving a 2:1.
To me, working with Home Instead isn’t a job, it is a family. The ethos of the company really caught my attention, somewhere that recognised the value of personalised care and improving quality of life.
Outside of work, I like to socialise and spend time with family and friends. I like to go on adventures, the gym, love mini-golf, watch Netflix, spas and going to restaurants.
I have the pleasure of saying that joining this fantastic client-focused business, has been one of the most humbling experiences in my career. As it gives me an opportunity to give back to the community where so many people desperately need my help and personally, brings me back to my roots; being born in the area over forty years ago makes my work so rewarding. Every client is treated like family and given the best care of the highest quality.
I love my job and I love what we do. Not surprised when one of our Care Professionals mentioned to me that doing what we do doesn't feel like 'work'.
I am the support coordinator, my main responsibilities are supporting our care professionals and maintaining contact with client families, as well as general admin duties. I studied healthcare at university and worked in care before this role, which has left me with plenty of experience in healthcare.
The high quality of care that the carers deliver is what attracted me to this role. I am so proud to be part of a team that really cares about others and truly wants to make a difference. Improving the quality of life for others and putting smiles on other people’s faces is something that really resonates with me.
