Has been of benefit to myself, allowing me to meet up with family to shop, have a meal and it gives me some time for myself as I am sole carer for my husband and this is quite difficult at times. The four hours I receive help with my mental and emotional state, giving me time to recharge.

Carer call times are good, always someone to call. Carers are very efficient and caring. Office staff are easy to speak to when required. Been with them a long time don't think another Company could do better

I find the staff excellent. They are kind and helpful. However, the management is quite poor. Despite being assured on several occasions, when I complained, that the promised time schedules would be kept, carers are often told to either arrive too early or too late and as this effects the timing of
my medication, this is important. Also arriving too early restricts my social life which is important for my mental health.

My husband and his siblings have been relying on John Jasper to look after their mother who has Alzheimer's for the past six weeks. The initial visit to establish her care requirements went really well and we were all optimistic that the care package offered was very good and would give them peace of
mind and relieve the stress they had previously endured caring for their mother over the last few years. Unfortunately, this has not worked out as well as they hoped. They have experienced a number of issues that have continued after numerous calls to the company. To name just a few.
1 Door left unlocked
2 Door locked with key left in on outside.
3 Missed meals
4 No help getting dressed when it was clear their mother was struggling
I could continue with many more occasions where care has fallen well short of even minimum expectations. Watching their mother struggling with this debilitating disease is heartbreaking enough without having to be constantly checking on her care.

Thank you for your review, as discussed with your family members, there was an unfortunate number of matters that needed addressing during the start of the care. These had been rectified before this review had been published, and before we were aware of the review. Senior staff have been liaising to make sure everything is continuing to run well. We are aware this is the first time you have recieved support in the home and unfortunately there can sometimes be a settling in period, related to clients with additional needs, alongside managing a hybrid staff team. We acknowledge that a carer had not met our high standards in one incident and a disciplinary was completed. Although we understand your frustrations, improvements were made before we were aware of this review and we would strongly recommend any client to allow us the time to get to know clients, and make positive changes where needed. As a current client, we look forward to working together to support your loved ones' needs.

Appears to have been a lack of administration/communication for problems following takeover of another company. Some of which have not been fully addressed; i.e lack of progress on obtaining agreed private contract; plus contract with local council.
Understand difficulties providing rosters on weekly
basis and maintaining communication with clients over any changes.
Would be helpful for new members of staff to be introduced to clients. Unnerving to have someone enter home who don’t know and ID not shown.
Would like to say that staff have always been polite, helpful and respectful on visits. Listen to instructions and ask questions if unsure of anything.
Reply from Lee Robinson, director at JohnJasper Care

Thank you for your honest review, You have expressed some concerns online which we were not previously communicated to management, we were not aware of your request for a copy of your contract as we were not passed this information on. Your contract with the previous provider is still valid. We were not aware the previous directors had removed the contract. A copy has now been sent. The majority of your care is commissioned through the local authority, so these contracts are between the provider and the local authority, therefore the contract cannot be shared due to GDPR. Your charge rates are provided to Johnjasper from the local authority through their contract, these are significantly lower than all private care calls. All employees are informed the importance of this showing ID for 1st visits, supervisors will robustly monitor this. If you have any concerns in the future, please do not hesitate in passing these on during your regular discussions with our management team.

Castrian Group was recommended to the family by the social work team following an extended stay in hospital for a relative. As we are not local to the area we had very little knowledge of care providers. Our experience has been fantastic. Castrian has provided wrap-around care for our elderly relative.
The care is bespoke, providing the level of care and support necessary to allow our relative to remain in their own home. From physical care to emotional support, Castrian have provided the care required. They are responsive to our concerns when raised and communication is excellent. The team have taken time to get to know our relative whose aim is to remain in her own home. Castrian has allowed this to happen. As a family, we have peace of mind knowing that the team are caring for our relative with professionalism and to a high standard.

My mum has been with Castrian Group Ltd since the very start, the lovely team are always so helpful to Mum and take every care to do everything to fit to her needs and routine. It’s a friendly team and the directors; who also are involved on a weekly basis with caring for Mum, clearly strive to provide
a very high standard of care offering flexibility and understanding of changing needs. I’m so glad that my mum had the fortune of having Castrian as her care provider.

Castrian has been looking after my auntie, who has dementia, for almost two years. They have been consistently caring and effective throughout this time. They visit four times a day, plus one day when they take her out. The staff have a great attitude, and my auntie enjoys their visits. I do not live
close by, but their communication with me as her next of kin has been excellent, keeping me in the picture and liaising as appropriate with her GP.
I am confident that it is only because of the excellent care they have provided that my aunt is still living in her sheltered accommodation that she loves, rather than having to go into a care home. I would have no hesitation in recommending Castrian to anyone.

We have used the Castrian Group team for a few months now for a companion service for my husband who has dementia. The office and management staff have always been very polite and courteous as well as the carers who take my husband on a different outing each week. They always provide options to suit
my husband and the weather! They have been very supportive to me and this is much appreciated. The guys are very punctual and caring with a very positive outlook. This gives me peace of mind. I would not hesitate to recommend their services.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.994)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.994) out of 10 for JohnJasper Care is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.094 for JohnJasper Care is calculated as follows: ( (29 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 64 Ratings = 4.094
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for JohnJasper Care is based on 9 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4.9
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Care Co-ordinator & Training Lead Joined: 2023

If there’s anyone who truly understands what it means to grow into a role with heart, it’s Victoria! Before joining the world of care, Victoria spent an impressive 10 years at Sainsbury’s, climbing the ladder from Customer Service Assistant to Store Manager. But it was a deeply personal experience—caring for a close relative during their final days—that opened her heart to a new calling.

That moment of clarity led her to us at JohnJasper, and we couldn’t be more grateful! It didn’t take long for Victoria to shine. Within just six months, she stepped up as Field Care Supervisor, and another six months later, she took on her current role as our dedicated Care Co-ordinator.

Victoria brings warmth, empathy, and a brilliant sense of organisation to everything she does. Whether she's scheduling visits or supporting our care team, she makes sure every client is treated with the kindness and dignity they deserve.

When she’s not orchestrating top-notch care services, you’ll find her enjoying the simple joys of life—camping, taking long walks, and embracing the great outdoors with her family and their beloved dog.

We’re proud to have Victoria as part of the JohnJasper family, and we know our clients feel the same.

Say hello to our wonderful Field Care Supervisor, who swapped spreadsheets for support visits—and hasn’t looked back since!

Formerly a Bank Manager at Barclays, he made the bold and beautiful leap into care over 13 years ago. Why? Because, in his own words, “helping people in a meaningful way is the most life-changing kind of work there is.” And we couldn't agree more.

Since stepping into homecare and community support, he’s been a compassionate force across various care companies—until he found his perfect fit with JohnJasper Care, joining us through the acquisition of the Castrian Group.

His passion? Client satisfaction and exceptional service.
Or as he likes to say: “It’s my bread and butter!” Whether it’s smoothing out the small stuff or orchestrating outstanding care plans, he takes pride in making a real difference every single day.

And when the day is done?
You’ll find him adventuring with his grandchildren, in search of the next exciting play park. (Rumour has it, he’s on a mission to test them all!)

So whether you're already part of our JohnJasper family or just getting to know us, rest assured—you’re in expert, enthusiastic hands.
