Alcedo Care are good, friendly staff. Carers always presented nicely. I look forward to my visits. The office staff are very helpful and will change things to suit my needs when possible. I would recommend Alcedo Care.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we are so happy we have made a difference in the care you receive. I will share your feedback with the team, thank you.
Absolutely nothing but trouble, constantly turning up three and a half hours late. Rudeness and abuse from two carers. One was swearing do you want to eat mouldy bread. When I have complained they cancelled my contract but it was meant to be in writing but I got it by telephone. I contacted the Area Manager on the 28th of April and she hasn't bothered dealing with it. The Manager at Preston has a lot to learn. The way you treat your staff is outrageous. No one will answer my complaints since early April they promised they wouldn't leave me without care. The best bit is the price you charged. I rang up a few times angry but that was down to my mental health issues and behaviour problems which I have been diagnosed with and I have emphysema. All this company thinks of is making a profit. But 95 per cent of carers I give 100 per cent great. Job is managed poorly.
It would be nice if management would stick to times as agreed, not what suits them. Whenever you ring up to complain about times agreed they say, 'yes, yes, yes', then revert back to what suits them. I don't have any problem with the carers, they all do a great job. My only complaint is with management.
Thank you for your review which we were disappointed to have received, we always strive to get things right but on this occasion, we have clearly failed to meet our own extremely high standards along with your expectations. We always try to do our best to accommodate our customer's requests...
My mum used Alcedo after going end of life. The office staff, as well as carers, were fantastic. Would especially like to compliment 3 very special carers - these girls are shining stars, though all the carers were fantastic, assured and kept my mum's care dignified, her comfortable and smiling (even when she was hard work at times), they not only supported my mum but also myself which was greatly appreciated. The office staff and management always only a phone call away if I needed and queries answering. I would highly recommend Alcedo Care Preston and thank the staff.
Thankyou so much for the review! It was a pleasure to have your mum under are care and provide the care and support to enable her to stay at home. I will ensure this gets shared to the carers. I hope both yourself and mum are doing well. Thankyou again. Chelsea Bryans
Whilst needing the service my husband was adamant that he did not want any carers in the house. That was unrealistic and a care package was set up for 4 carers per day. I was concerned (due to his illness) my husband could have been antagonistic towards the carers. However that was far from the situation, the very first carer we encountered was of a high calibre and everyone who followed was also. They are all very friendly, caring, competent, need minimal instructions on their first visit showing initiative with a can-do attitude. I have to say they have all exceeded our expectation of what it would be like having carers in the house and I can see my husband enjoys his one to one with them as they help him with his personal care because they make him feel significant as well as clean and groomed. I would most certainly recommend this care agency based on the very good service we have received.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we are so happy we have made the difference to your husband's well being.
I was absolutely impressed by the service provided, and how professionally everything was dealt with. From my first contact with the office staff, I felt reassured by the quality of business I was dealing with. The manner was professional, organised and made me feel confident and able to trust them. But most importantly I wanted to call out especially the quality of carers that we saw as part of Alcedo. The care provided to my uncle was outstanding, very thoughtful, compassionate and sympathetic. And of course, the primary concern is always the patient themselves, but sometimes it's more than that. The carers that Aledco sent, and one in particular, were actually a great comfort to me personally as well. For a relative, in a position like mine, having a person so kind, so empathetic and so caring arrive, well, that’s what was needed to lift my own spirits at a very difficult time. Thank you, sincerely.
Thank you so much Graham for your lovely review, we pride our service on not only supporting our customers but also their families. Our care standards are at the core of our service from our office staff right through to our carers.
My Mum who suffers from Dementia receives care. The Carers who attend to her are very professional and take care of all her personal care needs. My Mum was very reluctant to get changed and shower for the carers but now has built up a good rapport with a couple of them and is now more than happy to allow them to assist her. Any issues that may arise are always dealt with immediately by the managers.
Thank you for your lovely review, it is a pleasure to support your Mum.
Although overall the quality of care is good, there are a lot of staff changes and new staff coming into my home which is ok now and then but it happens regularly. This unsettles me as I need a high level of care. It stresses me out that I don't have continuous care other than from one member of staff who has to do everything, train as well as caring for me.
Thank you for your review, our complaints policy exists in order to deal with issues such as what you have raised. We will investigate your comments relating to continuity of your support staff and our Deputy Manager will be in touch to discuss further. We have also listened to how you are feeling...
I had to attend a family funeral and was very reluctant to leave my husband, however, a friend recommended Alcedo. A member of staff came and did an assessment and as it was a short package of care she decided to come herself to give some consistency and assurance - my husband has a stoma and 2 nephrostomy which can leak etc. Everything went extremely well, in fact, my husband is now comfortable to have an assisted shower twice a week. I would not have got him to agree had it not been for this member of staff and the way in which she has supported him.
Alcedo carers have been professional and brilliant with my parents. For almost a year Alcedo carers have cared for both my parents and I’ve been very impressed with their attitude and professionalism. It is a very good company to work with.
Mum has a really lovely, friendly and cheerful group of carers. Alcedo is the third agency we have tried and at last, mum no longer dreads carer days. The team is open to ideas and working closely with the family, which is incredibly reassuring. Any concerns are dealt with quickly and effectively. This is the first agency we've worked with who really do understand dementia and its effects, not just on the person with dementia, but the whole family. We were very wary when we first signed up, after two agencies who claimed to be dementia experts but just didn't deliver. Alcedo are always ready to listen and it really feels as though family and carers are all part of the same team, working towards the same goals.
Hi Margaret, thank you so much for your review. We are so pleased you and mum are both happy with the care you receive from Alcedo Care. Thank you again, Chelsea.
I and my sister are wanting to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to all the staff at Alcedo who cared for our dad during the last weeks of his life. He was cared for with utmost professionalism, respect and kindness and nothing was too much trouble. It was that level of care and empathy that enabled us all to feel fully supported and cared for and went a long way in helping us all cope with the most difficult of circumstances. Your support was amazing and we are so very thankful for the role you all played in those last few weeks in terms of the care you showed not only to our dad but also to ourselves. We are forever indebted - you really were fantastic xx
Thank you for those kind words. It was a pleasure to care for your dad. He was a lovely man, so glad I had the pleasure to meet him.
Thank you again.
Alcedo Care Preston has been a great find after a very bad experience with another agency. Alcedo Care provides a great source of support and encouragement to my husband who has lived with head trauma/Alzheimer’s from the age of 59. A great match with the carer who has had a great rapport from day one. My husband waits at the window for him to arrive and might I add - has always been punctual. As soon as he arrives my husband immediately goes out to see him and I can switch off and have some time to myself knowing that he is in safe hands and he’ll have a great time going out to do sporting activities (as Covid allows), walks and reminiscence work. Engaging professionally, sensitively and caring throughout. The staff at Alcedo Care have visited to go through and create an appropriate care plan along with risk assessments. If I make contact with the Alcedo Care office they are very quick and react to any changes and additional support as required. I am extremely satisfied with Alcedo Care Preston.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, we are so happy you are finding so much comfort and trust in the support you receive. I will pass your kind words on to the team.
So far I am very impressed with the care given to my father. The staff are very clean and caring (having had an experience of poor care providers in the past as my husband has Parkinson’s and dementia).
Thank you for your kind words, your father is a pleasure to support.
Now my care needs are very complex and I require two carers every day from 7 am to 2 pm and then one carer until 6 pm. This is a long day in itself, but times that by six and the request for a single person with the personality and abilities to fit into a dynamic family-based care situation for a young(ish) quadriplegic male that needed help with everything, you are probably thinking they couldn't fulfil the request.
Well, I can honestly say that we are into our 3rd week of service with a hospital stay slotted in there too boot, and I can not thank the team enough for all their help.
My Alcedo agency carer is amazing, and I can honestly say that if she didn't already work for Alcedo, I would snap her up in a heartbeat. She and the team are amazing. I would write more but can't.
Thank you Anthony, what a lovely review. I am so happy we have fulfilled your expectations.
The carers who come are reliable, kind and extremely helpful.
It is reassuring to know that my mother readily accepts them and also likes them very much.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, it is a pleasure to support your mum and dad.
