Every carer who attends is patient, friendly, understand the care needs required and treats Mum with care and respect. The carers are rarely late and always have a professional approach and chat with Mum, taking her wishes and choices on board. The carers are great with the rest of the family and they
are treated as part of the family. We are extremely happy with the support and help the carers provide and the patience and understanding they give Mum.

A top-class service. The carers are always friendly and very helpful. My mum treats them like friends and enjoys chatting with them whenever they visit. Being on her own, she loves having company and, although her dementia is worsening, she is always very cheerful. In fact, I have never known my mum
to be happier in her life.

Over the past 12 months, my mum has been receiving twice-daily visits from the carers provided by Alcedo Care. All the carers were very friendly and made mum feel at ease. They were extremely helpful and supportive and carried out all tasks that were required. The quality of the care provided gave me
confidence that mum was able to continue living independently in her own home with their support.

My husband has suffered from multiple myeloma for over four years and when it became apparent no more could be done the NHS arranged for a hospital bed to be provided and your carers stepped in for the last 16 days of his life.
Words cannot describe the reassurance it gave me personally, and which
enabled him to die at home as he wished. Your carers never failed to turn up 4 times a day and the and the care they provided was professional and always carried out with good humour.

When my mother was widowed and needed a little help to remain in her own home the Alcedo staff stepped in. The staff were so lovely with mum and always chatted whilst helping her with not only personal care but help around the home. She looked forward to their visits which after having had initial resistance
to 'strangers' coming into her home was a real turn up for the books! As mum's health declined and end-of-life care was required, I didn't expect the care and support to be extended to the whole family. They helped in all manner of ways, practical, advice, moral support. All the staff both on the ground and in the office go above and beyond every single day. I would not hesitate to recommend Alcedo to others.

The whole team at Alcedo Care took such amazing care of my mum. They all arrived with a smile and always acted very professionally all whilst maintaining my mum's dignity. The carers really helped my mum to feel relaxed by being chatty and light-hearted during their visits. There is no greater comfort
for the family than hearing your loved one having a laugh and a joke with the carers who are in your home. I would highly recommend Alcedo Care.

Mum came to live with me and my family following a cancer diagnosis. Her wishes were for end-of-life care provided by her family, a hospice team, and other health and social care practitioners. Alcedo carers played a vital role in supporting both mum and my family. Her final weeks were happy and as
comfortable as could be expected. The empathy and kindness carers demonstrated in every visit made a difference to us all, especially mum. Thank you.

I cannot speak too highly about Alcedo Care Lancaster & Wyres care for my mother during her rehabilitation from a spinal compression injury. From the introductory visit (sensitive, respectful, comprehensive, unrushed, unpushy) through to the consistently high quality of care offered by all carers on
a daily basis, my mother has felt supported and encouraged to make excellent progress. To such an extent that she has been able, progressively, to reduce the frequency of care visits. More than this, the carers' interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence have had a profound impact on my mother's psychological state and sense of wellbeing. From previous experience, we went from nervously expecting some deterioration after a promising start, we wondered if punctuality and bedside manner might drop over time, but our fears have been entirely misplaced. In our opinion, Alcedo should be seen as the gold standard from which all care provision should be measured.

I am a nurse working for the NHS so am aware of standards required in providing good care to people. My mother who recently turned 90, fractured her spine and also ended up with major depression. She needed continued support in her recovery once the NHS support ended. This is where Alcedo Care Lancaster
& Wyre have been invaluable. Our family and mother (most importantly) have found every single carer to have been very professional, friendly, helpful, and punctual in assisting my mother in making a dignified and growing recovery. A huge weight off my shoulders knowing she was happy as I still work full time and don't live in Lancaster. The management team did a very thorough initial assessment and have been readily available throughout to make any adjustments required to her care. Well done team Alcedo - extremely grateful for your services. Highly recommended.

Living 70 miles away from my dear sister I am so pleased that Alcedo Care is responsible for her care. Since they have taken over her care she has improved in both body and spirit, regaining her vest for life. I have only met with one of Alcedo's staff but was impressed by the professionalism and the
empathy he showed her. Taking time out to provide exercises and despite what must have been a busy schedule, he was keen to converse and share aspects of his life with her. I am extremely impressed by this company and would recommend them without hesitation.

I cannot thank you enough for the care you provide for mum. The small team of carers are like extended family as mum enjoys their visits because they always make her laugh. The carers are proactive in finding ways to help mum and carry out tasks in a professional manner, whilst being sensitive to her
dignity. Any concerns about mum's health or well-being are recorded and followed up immediately. The care assessor responds quickly to any changes in support required and like the rest of the team, goes above and beyond what is required to ensure mum is well cared for. Thank you so much.

All the carers that I have met who visit my brother are really professional, kind and friendly. This morning my brother was unwell and a member of staff from the office rang to let me know. It’s really reassuring to know they keep me updated as I do not live at the address. The office staff I have spoken
to are also really nice and helpful and we want to thank them all. They all do an amazing job and especially during these difficult and uncertain times. Thank you.

I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years, only recently returning back to it after a break. I have mainly worked in mental health, working in care homes as a Senior Carer and now moved over to Home Care as a new challenge.


I have a very keen interest in photography and in my time off I am out with my camera, trying to capture the perfect shots. Nature is what I enjoy the most. I also enjoy horse riding and had a horse until two years ago.


I am an Administrator for a charity called Zoe’s Journey, which raises money for research into curing cancer in dogs. The charity was set up by the owner of a dog called Zoe who beat cancer and eventually passed away of old age. The charity is in her memory.
