The team provide care for a range of specialist conditions to enable elderly and vulnerable people to continue living independently at home. Every carer is DBS checked and required to complete an industry-leading training course so you can be sure of the highest quality care in Southampton.

The hourly care team can help you with a range of domestic tasks to help keep your home in order, such as:

My wife received just over Five weeks of care from Walfinch Southampton which was at its commencement thought to be long term but in the event she took a downward turn and passed away in early September, During that time the carers gave her exemplary care in sometimes difficult circumstances as she
appeared to be in a lot of pain and often attempted to fight them off. I would like to express my gratitude to all those that attended to her for their professionalism and compassion. Those that looked after so well were Angela the Manager, Shannon, Nyara, Rose, Selina ,Charmaine, Saffron and Debbie. I was particularly pleased to see members of the team at the funeral and the wake. Their presence was very much appreciated .

Once again I cannot thank Walfinch Southampton enough for the care given to my mum. Also the attention and support given to my dad whilst I went away with my husband to spend quality time. This is the third time we have used Walfinch and definitely wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the near future

I'm incredibly grateful for the exceptional live in care provided by Walfinch Southampton to my father in the past 8 months since they took over his care from another provider. From the very first consultation, the team demonstrated compassion and professionalism, taking the time to understand my father's
needs and preferences. My father's two carers are not only highly skilled, but they truly go above and beyond to ensure his comfort and well-being. Because my father enjoys the continuing service from just two regular people, he has built up a lovely relationship and rapport, and is thriving in his home life. I needed full-time care after a fall. Walfinch have been the perfect answer. The preliminary assessment was friendly and thorough. The carer assigned to me fulfilled all my needs. She was always available to help when I needed her leaving me to do as much as I could manage on my own. Remaining at home

Three staff members in particular are thoughtful and forward-thinking in the planning and care of my wife, her needs are not straightforward and care needs to be taken when moving her. The care team are also excellent and I have had no moans or groans from them when completing the task of coping with
her catheter bag change or her bowl incontinence (clean-ups can be extensive I know).
So to summarise my review if you are looking for thoughtful and compassionate care of a loved one I can wholly recommend talking to this team.

I phoned Walfinch in an emergency giving less than 24 hours' notice. They were extremely helpful and met me to do an assessment later that day, to start providing care the following morning.
My uncle had the consistency of having the same carer mostly every day, (where possible).
They were kind and
thorough and provided excellent care.
The company were very flexible and though my Uncle's care has now ended, we wouldn't hesitate to use Walfinch again, if needed.

The Walfinch Southampton team were marvellous when my family were moving Mum from a respite care home back to her own home. All the carers who visited her were professional and patient. Mum was looked after very well.
The Walfinch team were really helpful and I would be very happy to recommend them

I cannot speak highly enough of Walfinch. I needed one-off care for my nan to attend my wedding following a stay in hospital as she needed some extra care/help. After speaking to numerous care agencies none seemed interested in helping as it was too much effort for one day.


Walfinch however spent

time and resources to come out and meet my nan and ensure her needs were met. The carer on the day was excellent, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Knowing that someone was coming to see me every day whilst my daughter was on holiday made me feel relaxed and confident that I was supported and cared for. My carer was a friendly delightful companion and I looked forward to seeing her every day. She was helpful and proactive in her visits. The other

Excellent care provider for my elderly mother. Nothing is too much trouble and they definitely go the extra mile with her care. They even contact her doctors for me if I'm getting trouble getting through to them to recommend antibiotics etc. I used this company last year for 24 hour care up until November
2022 and my mother has made great progress and has built her confidence up so much, after this date we just have the care twice a day from then onwards. The app they use is really good so after each visit I just log in to check everything is ok. What food she's eaten/confirmed medication has been taken/her mood etc. The carers are always on time and Mother looks forward to seeing them. If they have any concerns about my mother they will contact me immediately. This company has taken the pressure off of me enormously in worry/caring for my mother. I have used different care companies in the past and this is definitely the best care company I have used. I would highly recommend them.

All the carers that visited Mum were caring, kind, and knowledgeable. Always entered Mum's happy and smiling and nothing was ever too much trouble. Mum's allocated carer became more of a family friend that couldn't do enough for Mum which meant I could be Mum's daughter again.

if any problems occurred whilst they visited. Management were always available to answer any questions.

Mum has the same two lovely people come to see her which has enabled her and my dad to form an excellent relationship with them.

We were very impressed by the phone calls, emails, introduction to the excellent carer and the great cost for the 3 days and 2 nights.
The carer was lovely and my mother really enjoyed her being here they had lots of chats about travel and she left the place spotless, watered my mother's plants and

Found those working for care provider Walfinch very experienced and caring and they soon bonded with my mother who now looks forward to her daily visits.
Gradually she has let them do more for her which has been a great help to my family knowing first thing in the morning she is being looked after

Laura

Laura Pego Pineiro

Job Title: Managing Director Joined: 2021

Laura is the Managing Director of Walfinch Southampton. Laura gained a name for herself at a young age in the Catering and Hospitality industry running the kitchens for several top-class establishments before opening her own restaurant. In later years, she moved over to working as a Chef Manager in local care homes. Laura always made sure that she went the extra mile to talk with and establish a personal rapport with the residents.
More recently, she has run the recruitment and administration for another local care company before joining Angela to launch the local Walfinch branch in Southampton.


Laura also engages in caring duties as she likes to be hands-on. This allows her to train new professional care support team members and understand those who are in need of Walfinch's assistance. It is important to remember why we are professional care supports in the first place- the human element is key for Walfinch Southampton.

Angela

Angela Harding

Angela has worked in the care sector for over 20 years with extensive experience in community and residential/nursing homes. She holds a Level 5 QCF in Leadership & Management, as well as being an End of Life & Dementia Champion. In a recent role, Angela achieved an Outstanding CQC rating in the Caring category and it is this continuing dedication that ensures Angela and her team deliver outstanding individual person-centred care to every single client who needs support in their own home.


Establishing and maintaining trusted relationships allows clients to reach their own level of potential while maintaining independence in the happiness of a familiar and safe setting.

Robin Boulter

Job Title: Deputy Manager/Care Coordinator Joined: 2022

Robin has previously worked with Angela and has a wealth of experience which is adding great value to our team. He has come into Walfinch with an infectious personality and a ton of Ideas.


"I have worked in the care industry for over 22 years and have a varied background in Brain Injuries, Dementia, Mental Health and Learning disabilities.


I have experience as a Mental Health First Aider supporting colleagues and clients, being able to signpost them to health professionals. I have worked in partnership with many GPs, District Nurses and Client Advocates and lots of community-based projects"


Robin is also one of our trainers in Basic life support, Moving & Positioning and Skin integrity/Pressure sores, he is also hands-on with the support visits when needed, this gives him a greater insight if the client's needs have changed and also if the professional care support team need extra training.


Robin's other roles are making sure all of the support visits have a professional care support team member allocated to them. As well as bring on new clients, completing their assessments in their own homes.
