Walfinch Southampton is on hand to provide you with personalised hourly care as and when you need it. The team provide care for a range of specialist conditions to enable elderly and vulnerable people to continue living independently at home. Every carer is DBS checked and required to complete an industry-leading training course so you can be sure of the highest quality care in Southampton.

The hourly care team can help you with a range of domestic tasks to help keep your home in order, such as:

- Companionship Care – helping to alleviate loneliness and isolation
- Waking Night Care
- Light house-cleaning duties
- Laundry and bed-making
- Meal planning and preparation
- Pet care including dog walking
- Grocery shopping
- Running errands such as picking up a pension
- Help to organise and manage domestic admin, including paying bills

The carers are trained in all aspects of mobility support:

- Use of hoisting and lifting equipment
- Help and encouragement with physio exercises
- Accompaniment for outdoor exercise.

The tailored home visiting service is arranged according to your individual needs, providing regular assistance to help you retain your independence and continue to live life as you wish. Starting from as little as just one hour per week or as often as you need it. Services include:

- Companionship and or meal preparation
- Help to arrange and attend healthcare appointments.

The friendly staff and professional service give me peace of mind that my parents are receiving the extra support they need. The addition of the app is a helpful way of keeping on top of the visits they’ve received.

First class, relatable in every way. The carer has an excellent relationship with my husband who looks forward to her visits. She is very professional in her treatment of him - kindly and interested. Also, they laugh together.
I have requested some fairly last-minute additional 'slots' recently which
management has always been quick to sort out for me.

As far as I am concerned the care has been very good and what I expected, this is the first time we have ever had to use live in care.
The only criticism I have is the lack of information from the app which is provided for the career to use.

We are really pleased with the care Mum receives. The carers understand Mum's needs and have got to know her well. She normally has the same carers and Mum is happy with them all. They are happy to feed and make a fuss of Mum's dog. This is very important to Mum. They ensure Mum is well and always gain
Mum's consent before doing anything.
The company is well-run and very professional. They are happy to contact Mum's doctor, if need be. They will always inform me of this. We are so pleased that we chose Walfinch for Mum. It's such a relief for our family to know mum is well cared for and happy.

Extremely good care. Visit 8.45 am-9:15 am every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Always cheerful, it brightens my day, chatty and very efficient.

Laura

Laura Pego Pineiro

Job Title: Managing Director Joined: 2021

Laura is the Managing Director of Walfinch Southampton. Laura gained a name for herself at a young age in the Catering and Hospitality industry running the kitchens for several top-class establishments before opening her own restaurant. In later years, she moved over to working as a Chef Manager in local care homes. Laura always made sure that she went the extra mile to talk with and establish a personal rapport with the residents.
More recently, she has run the recruitment and administration for another local care company before joining Angela to launch the local Walfinch branch in Southampton.


Laura also engages in caring duties as she likes to be hands-on. This allows her to train new professional care support team members and understand those who are in need of Walfinch's assistance. It is important to remember why we are professional care supports in the first place- the human element is key for Walfinch Southampton.

Angela

Angela Harding

Job Title: Director and Registered Manager Joined: 2021

Angela has worked in the care sector for over 20 years with extensive experience in community and residential/nursing homes. She holds a Level 5 QCF in Leadership & Management, as well as being an End of Life & Dementia Champion. In a recent role, Angela achieved an Outstanding CQC rating in the Caring category and it is this continuing dedication that ensures Angela and her team deliver outstanding individual person-centred care to every single client who needs support in their own home.


Establishing and maintaining trusted relationships allows clients to reach their own level of potential while maintaining independence in the happiness of a familiar and safe setting.


Like Laura Angela is very hands-on and also involved in providing care.

Robin

Robin Boulter

Job Title: Deputy Manager/Care Coordinator Joined: 2022

Robin has previously worked with Angela and has a wealth of experience which is adding great value to our team. He has come into Walfinch with an infectious personality and a ton of Ideas.


"I have worked in the care industry for over 22 years and have a varied background in Brain Injuries, Dementia, Mental Health and Learning disabilities.


I have experience as a Mental Health First Aider supporting colleagues and clients, being able to signpost them to health professionals. I have worked in partnership with many GPs, District Nurses and Client Advocates and lots of community-based projects"


Robin is also one of our trainers in Basic life support, Moving & Positioning and Skin integrity/Pressure sores, he is also hands-on with the support visits when needed, this gives him a greater insight if the client's needs have changed and also if the professional care support team need extra training.


Robin's other roles are making sure all of the support visits have a professional care support team member allocated to them. As well as bring on new clients, completing their assessments in their own homes.
