My dear friend has been having visits from Visiting Angels for a couple of years now. She says she always looks forward to their visits and is confident that if she ever has a problem she can just give them a call and they will promptly provide a solution. The friendliness and patience of the carers is paramount and they provide that in abundance. They always leave her safe and comfortable. Their food preparation is excellent and all aspects of personal care is dealt with in a respectful and caring manner. I look forward to this excellent care continuing into the future knowing that the standards will remain as high as they have been.

I've used visiting angels for a few years now for my brother who has quite high levels of care needs due to learning difficulties, communication problems and now physical disabilities. Having originally searched around and tried various care agencies with a variety of concerns about the care provided, it's a pleasure to find an agency where the care has always been exemplary. Despite needing support from them multiple times a day for over 6 months now, I've not had a single problem with them, but even better than that is that the carers are always kind, compassionate, understanding, flexible and willing to go the extra mile so my main priase goes to those that come every day and help my brother live his best life, you're all amazing.

I've also used visiting angels for emergency cover when my PA's have had sudden short term absence and the managers have been so responsive and fast to find me cover and support at sometimes extremely short notice and have 99% of the time been successful

I've been using Visiting Angels since November 2024 for my 96-year old mother, who lives alone, has poor mobility and needs help with meals, getting up and going to bed. We currently have 14 home visits per week.
I've always found VA efficient and reliable, very human and flexible. Their communication and organization is excellent. They manage to adapt their schedule at short notice if asked, and have never let us down. As I live abroad, I need an agency I can count on. VA has ticked all the boxes.
My mum is prone to falls and these have happened when VA carers were present. They looked after her until the ambulance came, staying beyond their scheduled time, and phoning me with updates.
My mum can be forgetful and a bit difficult, but VA staff take that in their stride. I always sense they are taking an interest in her and would let me know if there was anything worrying.

Based on my 18 months' experience, this is an agency you can trust to do a brilliant job at all times.

I've been pleased with the level of service provided by Visiting Angels. The management are responsive to concerns and act quickly. The care team look after my friend really well, they engage with her in a professional way and they feedback any concerns to me in a timely manner. Over the two years that I've been using Visiting Angels to care for my friend, I've been pleased with the way they have interacted with me and my friend, the dignity and respect they've shown and the overall care and support they've given my friend. And I look forward to continuing the relationship with them.

We have found the service for my 92 year old mother in law, to be professional and caring.
The main carer (Emma) is truly excellent and always goes above and beyond.
Having Visiting Angels as an agency has given my wife and I a lot of peace of mind and improved the life quality for my mother in law.

We highly recommend them.

Visiting Angels has provided truly wonderful care for my mum, and I'm incredibly grateful for the support they've given our family during a challenging time. From the very beginning, their team has been compassionate, attentive, professional, and genuinely thoughtful about my mum's individual needs and comfort.
What stands out most is the kindness and patience they bring to their work. They take the time to make sure my mum feels comfortable, respected, and cared for, rather than simply rushing through tasks. The caregivers have been reliable, warm, and reassuring, which has made a huge difference not only for my mum, but for our entire family as well.

Communication has also been excellent. Any concerns or questions are handled quickly and thoughtfully, and I've always felt that they truly listen and want to provide the best possible care. It's clear that they approach their work with empathy and professionalism.

This Provider is incredible! (I filled in contact forms for others too online). But the head of Visiting Angels, Barnet called me that evening and said what I had written had connected to him and he had suggestions. Even before I signed on with them we were in crisis mode and they were in full help mode. They wrote me a superb letter which I printed and pinned above my brother's hospital bed. They helped me take a stand against a move for him which would have be totally wrong, and now we are in the happier place of them being able to visit him in rehab and get to know him, gain his confidence and together we can work out the best way forward. I am not in danger of being bullied or bamboozled into taking whatever option the facilities tell me is the only one for him. We have expertise and care. And they really do care, the questions and follow up are exemplary. And I have peace of mind again, and can get back into my world knowing Visiting Angels have got this situation covered

We had a positive experience with Visiting Angels during the onboarding and care setup for my dad. Rosie and Katie were our main points of contact and were both supportive, responsive, and caring throughout the process. The initial setup was handled well and communication was always quick whenever we needed assistance or had concerns. The carers used overall were professional, kind, and treated my dad with care and respect. Thank you to the team for your support during an important time for our family.

My mum had done incredibly well to reach her 90's and still be almost independent. Unfortunately several hospital stays and an eye operation meant she now needed carers. After contacting multiple agencies one stood out, visiting angels. Katie and Sarah took the trouble to visit Kath my mum in hospital to assess her needs and once discharged set up a visit schedule that suited us and was flexible. All of the carers were lovely with Kath and soon built a rapport, the support for us as a family was superb and took a huge weight from us. Despite the good care Kath's health deteriorated over the months until she needed 24hr care and then end of life care. The visits were increased but always mum was treated with love and dignity from the many carers involved , too many to name but all wonderful. Mum was able to end her life in her own home surrounded by people who genuinly cared for her in the true sense of the word and visiting angels made that possible.

I cannot recommend Visiting Angels highly enough - particularly mum's main carer Emma. We've been with Visiting Angels since September 2025 and from the very beginning have experienced their service as professional, caring, responsive and flexible - with an overarching willingness to go above and beyond to ensure my mum (92yrs) and I are happy. It's not just the care that's provided (which in itself is of the highest quality), its the personal relationship Emma and the carers have with my mum. It often feels like family. The office team are also very good - responsive and flexible when there's changes/additional needs or questions. From a practical perspective, the app - and how much information the carers input there after each visit - gives huge peace of mind and reassurance. Highly, highly recommend Visiting Angels to anyone seeking professional and meaningful care for their loved ones.

Where do I start.

When I think of amazing I think of visiting angels. I needed care for my terminally ill brother my experience of carers was shocking especially when my brother went to respite in care home disgusting we had to bring him home so I did my own research and found visiting angels and told them exactly what I wanted and what I was not prepared to put with due to experience. Well I got exactly what I wanted and more Sara and Katie came to see my brother I could I see straight away that I was dealing with caring and professional people. The care my brother got was second to none they matched carers with his personality. Ant thank them enough he was very fond of them especially Emma and they made his end of life as good as it gets Bless you all your amazing.

My father has alzheimers and a number of complex health problems and has a strong wish to stay in his own home. Visiting Angels have provided carers who have got to know him, help him with his routines and supported him in a wide variety of tasks. Some even share his love of animals. We have been very happy with the standard of carers and the fact that this has allowed my father to continue to live safely in his own home

My 94 year old mother now lives on her own and after a fall earlier in the year we decided with her that she needed some extra help a couple of times a day. She has Alzheimer's so was struggling to take her medication correctly and as a family we had worries about her cooking on her own. I contacted Visiting Angels among other care services and was immediately impressed with Visiting Angels attention to detail. Since then Mum has had carers in the morning and at supper time. There is a core of 4 carers that visit and Mum gets on with all of them. Obviously there are others too, to cover holidays and sickness, but even those are regular replacements. As Mum's needs change we can easily contact the Manager to update Mum's care plan, for example she now has to have soft food, so they ensure her meals are suitable. One of the carers saved Mum's life when she was choking on a pill. We can't praise her highly enough for this, we are so grateful. (The medication was quickly changed)

Both of my parents require care and I was naturally concerned about bringing someone into our home. But from the moment I spoke to the manager and another member of staff i knew that I had made the right decision. Visiting Angels are just that angels. It's like welcoming family into your home and they care for my parents as if they are their own. I now feel as though I have more support and someone to share the highs and lows of looking after Mummy and Daddy. I can't recommend them highly enough.

My dear dad died recently. In our family there are a number of people with complex needs. My father was beloved by them and their carers. My mum of 90 years was totally distraught by my dad's death. She needed our attention at the funeral. We had at short notice to find carers for 3 adults. My son aged 57 and his friend who is 60. They both have Downs syndrome are non verbal and have profound learning difficulties. My foster daughter aged 23 who is blind, non verbal and has severe learning difficulties. I came across 'Visiting Angels'.
From the first contact they were friendly and accomodating. They met our family members. They spent a day shadowing the current carers, so that by the time of the funeral (Which went over 2 days) they were au fait with the care needed by our 3 adults. All three were happy when we left and when we returned. The 2 women were lovely. They were friendly, personable and good communicators.

I would highly recommend them and this agency.

My personal experience of carers and caregiving, both good and bad, has made me realise how varied the level of care can be and how confusing and worrying it is for families just trying to do the best for their loved ones. I am committed to supporting those who need to make difficult decisions and helping them understand their entitlements and options so that they don’t repeat my experiences.

I am also committed to providing the best level of care, in the home, with great carers who are looked after and because of that provide continuity.

And that’s why, after a successful career in both big and small businesses, including my own, I decided to change direction and do something with Visiting Angels that is more than just a job and gives something back.

My hands-on role is to run and grow the business and make sure that Rosie and her team have what they need.

I’ll also be working closely with them to see where I can add to the quality of complete care we provide.

Sarah Matthew Job Title: Registered Care Manager Joined: 2025
Sarah Matthew

I am the Registered Care Manager for Visiting Angels Barnet and Enfield, having completed my Level 5 Diploma in Adult Care Management in September 2024. I have 17 years of experience in the care sector, beginning my career in children’s services before moving into adult services. My transition into adult social care was driven by my personal experience as a family carer for my late father, where I witnessed first-hand the level of support required in palliative and end-of-life care. This has shaped the compassion, understanding, and dedication I bring to my role today.

My professional journey and lived experiences have enabled me to develop strong relationships with carers, family members, medical professionals, and local authorities. I understand the importance of a collaborative approach in ensuring every service user receives the right support while remaining in their own home and community.

I joined Visiting Angels in December 2025 to begin my first registration as a Manager and chose the organisation specifically for its ethos. Visiting Angels is truly care-centric—placing both service users and carers at the heart of every care package. This aligns closely with my own values and vision for high-quality, relationship-led home care.

I am experienced in supporting a wide range of care needs, including Dementia and Alzheimer’s, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, and Complex Care. My passion lies in supporting service users and their families by ensuring they receive compassionate, person-centred, holistic care that alleviates stress during what can be extremely challenging times. I am equally committed to guiding and developing our staff so they feel confident, valued, and equipped to deliver exceptional care.

I aim to continue championing the care-centric approach that Visiting Angels is known for, bringing high-quality, trustworthy, and truly connected home care to the Barnet and Enfield community.
