We had a fantastic experience with Elsie's Help at Home. The wonderful carer allocated to my dad was kind, gentle, thoughtful and reliable. He loved spending time with her and looked forward to her twice-weekly visits. His last few months were enriched greatly by her company and it was a great comfort to us that he was safe, happy and well looked after. Couldn't recommend them more as a company, thank you for all that you did for Dad.

My good friend was having problems with taking medication. As soon as we met the Manager we knew that her employees would be most appropriate to visit my friend. Should the carers be held up in traffic or delayed with a previous visit I would be informed. Often a thankless task the carers were always professional and appropriate.

We have been using Elsie's Help At Home for 10 months now. My Wife has had a number of mini-strokes and cannot do very much physical work. This means I have to run the house and garden. I find it very helpful to have the housework done for me by Elsie's Help at Home. All the Ladies who come to do the work are very friendly and do a good job. I would recommend Elsie's Help At Home to anyone who needs this type of service.

We have found the overall contact with the staff either in the office or out in the field is always a very positive experience. This is built upon years of experience with this company. Nothing is too much trouble and they always show a flexible response to the client’s requests and problems.

This is a very well-managed home care provider. I really could not fault it from the initial meeting to the companionship my husband received. Sadly our experience was short-lived as my husband died very suddenly only a couple of months later. He liked his carer very much. She was gentle and kind listening to him for five hours on and twice a week. His need was companionship at the time. He was not the easiest and resisted care but he was won over and looked forward to visits. On his death, I received flowers which was very touching given the short time. I have already recommended this provider of care at the doctor’s surgery in a help sheet to help others in my predicament.

Having not needed to organise care before I was unsure of the process and apprehensive about it. From initial contact to the present day the service and support have been exceptional. The Manager went through everything step by step and explained things clearly. Although they were very resistant to needing help, my in-laws enjoy the carer's company and we really appreciate the chance to switch off for a bit.

This was the first time we have needed care and support for my elderly mother. From day one, the staff at Elsie's Help at Home held my hand to ensure I understood the processes and what my mother could expect from the carers. Every member of the team treated my mother with utmost respect which contributed to her speedy return to her previous independent status. Should the need arise, I would definitely call on Elsie's Care at Home again. A big thank you to you all.

Elsie's Help at Home has been caring for my mother for just over a month. The staff have been very caring, friendly and helpful to deal with. They have been flexible and understanding. My mother finds the time spent with the carers enjoyable and she looks forward to their visits. It is reassuring to know that they are a regulated business and their expertise is demonstrated. Thanks.

The level of care that my father received from Elsie’s Help at Home went above and beyond anything I could ever wish to hope for. The girls who looked after him were wonderful, so caring and gentle. They made what was an incredibly difficult time for me bearable, I could not have coped without them. I can honestly say that the manager became a friend, we laughed and cried together, and she couldn’t have done more for me or my dad. It wasn’t just the manager, all the girls that came were fantastic, all selfless carers who I’d be happy to look after any member of my family.

The manager and her team of carers visited my dad for a couple of months before he sadly went into hospital. Every member of the team was great, they were nice and chatty to my dad when they visited, which he enjoyed. The timing was excellent and they provided an extremely professional, reliable and caring service.

Elsie's Help at Home has been supporting my family member for a few months.
The organisation has been very caring, friendly and professional to deal with in all respects.
The situation they have been supporting us with is quite complex and we have really appreciated their understanding about this and the respectful, client centred way they have of running the service.
It is reassuring to know that they are a regulated business and their expertise is demonstrated.

Thanks.

Hello, I'm Alison and have been a carer with Elsie's for the past 10 months. Previous to this, I have spent the majority of my employment working with people and supporting them in gaining the most from their lives. In capacities such as caring for the elderly, those with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours and in a special home for deaf people. I've also worked for the NHS as a theatre nurse and spent over 7 years in a pharmacy.

I am passionate that people should be able to access support when needed, and that they can continue to lead full lives wherever possible.

Of course, the most important things to me are my family, including Tommy the Podenco.

Sam Brown Job Title: Coordination Manager Joined: 2024

My name is Sam, I have 22 years of care experience and have worked for Elsie’s since June 2024 as a carer.

I started working in care at the age of 18, following in my mum’s footsteps. I have worked for the NHS, specialising in oncology and then went back into community care and expanded my knowledge in dementia.

I absolutely love my job and feel so happy to make a difference to people’s lives.

In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, especially my 15-year-old daughter and my 93-year-old Nan.
