Not all carers are pleasant and know what they are supposed to be doing. Some do not introduce themselves and wear the badges so you know who they are.
Reply from gerry petts, Customer Experience Quality Officer at Lotus Home Care Calderdale and Kirklees

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're sorry to hear about these experiences. All carers should introduce themselves, wear identification, and be clear about their duties. We'll remind our team of these standards and work to ensure every visit feels professional and respectful."

All carers show understanding and compassion when interacting.
They arrive within expected time slots yet are flexible when required.

In our opinion you have an excellent care worker.
She is head and shoulders above the bust of the rest. She instantly knows and she's what is required and gets on completing the tasks. The majority of the rest seem happy to do the minimum and spend their time viewing their phones.
For example one
carer was quite happy to study bananas. We therefore consider month considerable increase pay and not just a bonus.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We're really pleased to hear how highly you regard your care worker and the difference she is making. It's clear she is providing an excellent standard of care.I'll make sure your comments are passed on to her, as well as to the wider team. We also take note of your concerns about other carers and their use of time, and this will be addressed to ensure consistency in the level of care provided. We really value your input, as it helps us improve both for staff and for those receiving care.

The times of visits should be breakfast 8-9, lunch 12-1 and tea 5-6.
The duration of the visits should be the same for both of us.
The council are in the progress of drawing up a 'care plan' of which we have never had a copy but hope to receive this very soon.

Thank you for clarifying the visit times - breakfast 8-9, lunch 12-1 and tea 5-6 - we'll make sure these are followed.I also agree that the duration of visits should be the same for both of us to keep things consistent. Thank you for your feedback .

Have had Lotus Home Care staff for the past 8 months. Seem to have settled into a core team that we see regularly with occasional others to support familiar faces if needed.
Love how staff engage with elderly Mum. She responds well to their engagement which is lovely to see and hear.
They have managed
and supported me as Mum's condition has deteriorated. Discussing their feelings about what's needed or possible but always leaving it to me to decide and I value their input.
Iv been able to engage with the office and have my requests clearly added to call duties. Interactions between the office, the carers visiting and me have always been good. Thank you

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.033 for Lotus Home Care Calderdale and Kirklees is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 30 Ratings = 4.033

Job Title: Care Manager Joined: 2022

I joined Lotus Home Care not knowing what career path I wanted to pursue. My family and friends always described me as a caring person so I thought this would be the perfect job for myself. I have only worked in care for 2 years and I joined Lotus Home Care as a full-time carer. Then I was offered a promotion to step up to be a Field care supervisor. Then I was promoted again to Care Coordinator to now being the Care manager at the Calderdale branch. I have worked my way up with my manager's support throughout my time with Lotus. Lotus as a company supports any extra training that is required to help our service users have the best quality care possible. I believe in delivering high-quality and person-centred care to the local community.

Always going the extra mile for our service users and providing an approachable, friendly and compassionate company.
