We have been using Bluebird Care for a year now, and as time as gone on my mum has been treated with care and kindness. Some of the carers have gone out of their way to help. there is good communication when any problems occur and we are informed about relevant changes.

My 94-year-old mum lives on her own and her successful independent lifestyle is due, in no small measure, to the care, support and TLC provided by her two Bluebird carers who visit three times a week. The carers are extremely professional but also personable and friendly and Mum really looks forward
to their visits.
The fact that Bluebird allocates the same two carers week on week provides important continuity and gives me every confidence that the agreed care plan is being effectively implemented. The best thing I've done in the last few years was contact Bluebird.

Wonderful carers who always start with a big smile. Positive attitudes and an unhurried manner add to their professionalism. I cannot express the happiness that I feel knowing my Dad has this care when the family are not around.

My brother has been cared for by Bluebird for approximately five years.
Excellent communication with staff and office re his welfare. Unlike other care providers he had, Bluebird works with teams of carers and only occasionally is a new carer substituted in an emergency as continuity is vital for his
severe condition.
Carers provide thoughtful extras, e.g. helping out in their own time bringing in shopping. As judged by me, with my brother's input.

Thank you for taking the time to complete our review form Shona. Bluebird came into our lives at a very difficult time when my mother was very poorly after a fall and diagnosis of vascular dementia.
We needed support quickly and efficiently and from my initial contact with the manager, to initial assessment and implementation, the staff have been sensitive and
very supportive.

The carer visits for 6 hours every Thursday to let my dad go walking with his pal. Mum and her carer have visited art galleries and botanical gardens which my mum loves. She is imaginative and varied in her socialisation activities and we have seen an improvement in Mum's cognitive abilities reduction of anxiety and improved communication as a result.

Thanks to you for your support.

Extremely pleased with Bluebird Care. My very first phone call months ago went well, as the manager took plenty of time to explain the service and get to know my needs. There was no pressure to sign up, just a genuine willingness to be of service. We had a few follow-up phone calls so I could take
my time thinking this decision through, and what I needed exactly. They mailed a very informative brochure and when I was ready, a lovely representative came to my home and went through the paperwork with me. The caregivers they sent were all very professional and compassionate. Whenever I needed to change the timing, they were happy to accommodate me. It has been a very pleasant working relationship with all the staff I've gotten to know it is a comfort to know they are there for us. I felt the rates were quite reasonable. I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to enlist their services again! Thank you so much!

Bluebird provided excellent and accommodating care support (provision of lunch meals) for my father who suffered dementia and was forgetting to eat.
The staff were always kind and caring to him. As and when needed effort was made to accommodate changed requirements, even at short notice.

Our first experience with a care company for mum was summer 16 and it was not good, therefore following another lengthy stay in hospital my sister and I did our homework. I met with Bluebird prior to making our final decision and once we confirmed, we met again to go over, in fine detail, mums needs.
The deputy manager came to meet mum in the hospital as did her 2 primary carers. There was also training to do as my mum is PEG fed. Bluebird liaised with the hospital ensuring the staff were trained appropriately.

Our aim was to ensure mums safety and comfort allowing her to stay in her own home. We have increased her "package" but 3 weeks in, my sister and I are reassured by the care mum is receiving and knowing she is safe and comfortable. It is a huge relief for us.

The staff are building up a good relationship with Mum. From this first 3 weeks, we are reassured mum is safe and well cared for. Communication between us, the management team and mums carers has been excellent.

Bluebird have never put a foot wrong despite complex and rapidly changing needs- my husband has young onset Parkinson's. The carers have been of an exceptional standard and training. The administration flexible and very efficient. Bluebird is a bit more expensive than others but is worth it.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.650 for Bluebird Care Edinburgh is calculated as follows: ( (43 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.65

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Bluebird Care Edinburgh is based on 9 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4.9
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
