Reliable good carers and they know what they are doing. I have no complaints about Bluebird Care (Edinburgh).
I always know which carer to expect to come and help me in the morning. The carers know my care plan and follow it. I have just had my annual review and although a few things have changed they will quickly be in place by next week. Carers are good sdtaff in the office are also very good. An alround thumbs up.
Delighted that you are happy with everything, I will pass on your kind comments to the staff, thank you.
Our first experience with a care company for mum was summer 16 and it was not good, therefore following another lengthy stay in hospital my sister and I did our homework. I met with Bluebird prior to making our final decision and once we confirmed, we met again to go over, in fine detail, mums needs. The deputy manager came to meet mum in the hospital as did her 2 primary carers. There was also training to do as my mum is PEG fed. Bluebird liaised with the hospital ensuring the staff were trained appropriately.
Our aim was to ensure mums safety and comfort allowing her to stay in her own home. We have increased her "package" but 3 weeks in, my sister and I are reassured by the care mum is receiving and knowing she is safe and comfortable. It is a huge relief for us.
The staff are building up a good relationship with Mum. From this first 3 weeks, we are reassured mum is safe and well cared for. Communication between us, the management team and mums carers has been excellent.
Thank you for your very kind and thoughtful comments, I will pass these on to the team.
Bluebird have never put a foot wrong despite complex and rapidly changing needs- my husband has young onset Parkinson's. The carers have been of an exceptional standard and training. The administration flexible and very efficient. Bluebird is a bit more expensive than others but is worth it.
Thank you very much for your very kind comments. I will pass these on to the relevant staff involved in the care of your husband. We will continue to work extremely hard to maintain these high levels and we appreciate the faith you place in us.
after developing cracked vertebrae through osteoporosis. They have tried to match my two carers to my demands and especially that I like the same people it establishes trust, saves time so we can have a coffee together whilst putting the world to rights, very important for someone living on their own.

Meet the Team (10)
Jane Perry started her home care journey with her husband, John back in 2008 when she purchased Bluebird Care Edinburgh.
Over the years, Jane has worked tirelessly to ensure she has a good team around her with the same passion for delivering high-quality, person-centric home care.
She got involved in the care sector as when she was looking for home care for her grandmother in Glasgow back in 2008, she was appalled at the lack of knowledge, services, and general attitude of the companies she contacted. This set off a ‘light bulb’ moment.
After extensive research, she chose Bluebird Care as they shared her ethos of providing a good old-fashioned service along with the ongoing support required to get her business up and running.
With Jane’s strong leadership together with her management team, she ensures that the interests and well-being of all customers and her team are met. Working with multidisciplinary teams and integrating with other leaders in the Social Care sector, Jane is as driven now as she ever was, to deliver the best, home care services possible.
Outside of work, Jane lives in the South of Edinburgh with her husband John. She loves listening to music, good food and wine, spending time with her family, and let’s not forget taking her dog (and best friend), Robbie for various walks to the woods and the beach.
John has worked in customer-facing and account management roles for over 35 years and is acutely aware of the importance of good customer service and the impact that it can have.
With John’s knowledge and experience, you’ll normally find that he’s the first point of contact when someone is looking for care for themselves or a loved one. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about providing a solution for every customer who is looking for a care package. He always takes the time to understand the customer’s needs, ensuring they have all the information required to make an informed decision about who cares for either themselves or their loved ones.
His other interests are listening to to 70s & 80’s soul music.
Geraldine joined the care sector at the age of seventeen as a Care Assistant in a private residential setting working alongside adults and children with learning disabilities. She worked there while attending University to complete my Honours degree in Applied Social Studies. After obtaining her qualification, she moved to Scotland from Ireland and joined the Care at Home sector and states she has never looked back.
As Registered Manager, Geraldine spends her time empowering her team, and always ensuring the quality and compliance remains high. She is passionate about delivering high-quality homecare service to people within the community and is honoured to be a part of the Bluebird Care team.
Outside of work, you will find Geraldine spending time with her family, returning to Ireland as often as she can, reading and yoga.
Ashley has a deep passion for working in the care sector, and what she loves most about it is that no two days are ever the same. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities, which keeps her engaged and motivated. She finds immense fulfilment in being able to help people remain in their own homes, surrounded by the comforts and familiarity that make them feel safe and happy. To her, the ability to support individuals to live independently, while maintaining their dignity and comfort, is incredibly rewarding.
Outside of work, Ashley leads an active and fulfilling life. She enjoys spending quality time with her children, exploring new places and creating lasting memories together. In addition to this, Ashley has a passion for horses and often spends time on the yard caring for them.
Ashley’s dedication to her work and her personal life is a testament to her strong work ethic and her commitment to the people she cares for. Her enthusiasm for helping others, coupled with her ongoing professional development, makes her a valued member of Bluebird Care Edinburgh and an inspiration to those around her.
Aoife began her career with Bluebird Care in 2022, shortly after relocating from the west of Ireland to Edinburgh. She started as a Care Assistant and quickly demonstrated her dedication and passion for the role. In July 2024, Aoife progressed to the position of Care Supervisor for the North East of Edinburgh, a role she finds incredibly rewarding. What Aoife loves most about working in care is being part of a team that makes a real difference in people’s lives. She takes great pride in helping individuals remain in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, where they feel safe and supported. For Aoife, the opportunity to contribute to someone’s independence and wellbeing is both meaningful and fulfilling. Outside of work, Aoife enjoys travelling; whether it’s revisiting favourite spots in Ireland and Scotland or exploring new destinations further afield. She recently returned from a trip of a lifetime across South East Asia.
When she’s not travelling, Aoife loves sea swimming, cooking, and relaxing with a bit of reality TV. Aoife’s commitment to her role and her enthusiasm for helping others make her a valued member of the Bluebird Care team. Her journey from Care Assistant to Care Supervisor is a testament to her hard work and passion for the care sector.
Currently working towards her SVQ Level 4 qualification, Chelsea is constantly seeking opportunities to enhance her skills and deepen her expertise in the care sector. Her "Tetris brain" allows her to thrive in her coordinating role, as she enjoys the complex challenge of organizing people and resources to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients and colleagues alike. The joy she finds in problem-solving and optimizing processes is matched only by her genuine love for helping people—this is the foundation of her work and why she remains so passionate about the care industry.
Beyond her professional life, Chelsea is an advocate for charity work and giving back to her community. She has a history of taking on physical challenges to raise money for important causes, including shaving her hair for Cancer Research, completing the Pretty Muddy 5K, and in May 2025 she is walking 83 miles for Alzheimer Scotland. Chelsea’s commitment to making a positive impact extends far beyond her job, as she strives to create a better world both at work and in her personal life.
When she’s not coordinating, you can find Chelsea enjoying music, exploring new food experiences, and embracing the outdoors. She values maintaining a healthy work-life balance while continuing to contribute to the wellbeing of others in everything she does.
John has worked in the care sector for over 18 years; he has worked in private, residential and care at home. His journey started as a support worker with ILS where he progressed to senior carer.
He completed his SVQ level 3 and then moved to Hansel Alliance where he worked with young adults with complex care needs. During his time here, he progressed to coordinator and later the manual handling trainer.
After that, he moved on to be a personal assistant for a young man who was nonverbal with complex autism, but he missed the training side, so he moved to Carewatch where he was training manager for 6 years.
He enjoys training because he feels he can give people the best knowledge and understanding to provide high-quality care. Learning from his experiences, he likes to laugh during training to ensure that it keeps fun to allows people to retain more.
In his spare time, he likes to play pool, and clay pigeon shooting, and he does dabble in buying and selling antiques and collectables.
