My mother who passed away recently had been cared for by Christies Care for over four years. We could not fault the service provided by Christies. They are very professional in their service, the carers were always well trained and suitable for the job. Christies constantly monitored the carers and frequently visited my mother’s home to assess how the care was going and to check on the carers and to see if we had any causes for concern. They also regularly carried out risk assessments on my mother’s home to check that is was safe both for my mother and her carers. I cannot praise them enough for the service they provided. I would highly recommend Christies to anyone thinking of employing a live-in carer.
My Father felt that he would be able to look after himself, but I persuaded him to continue having the support of live-in carers from Christies - just for the next three months. That turned into over ten years. Ten years during which my Dad could continue to enjoy the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his books. And ten years during which we could enjoy visiting him, without having to worry about his health and wellbeing.
Christies have had the marvellous knack of choosing, almost without exception, just the right person for both my Mum and my Dad. I highly recommend them!
This is my first foray into the world of home care. From the very first moment I called Christies, I received exemplary care. The head office communications were outstanding as was the area manager who did the assessment, each of the carers assigned to look after my mum as well as the processes in place. I would be happy to offer any prospective clients a personal reference based on our experiences. The carers really went the extra mile and helped our family through an incredibly difficult time. I also learnt a lot from them too.
Live- in care is a very specialised area of care requiring carers (and care agencies) to have flexibility, empathy, resilience, problem-solving abilities, exceptional people skills and humour. The Christies carers exhibited these qualities most of the time. They were certainly streets ahead of a major competitor.
You provided an excellent service at short notice and a carer that my rather reluctant and sceptical mother-in-law thought was wonderful.
As a family, we found that the carers slotted into the running of the house extremely well. They were all trained very well and knew exactly what to do if any emergencies or urgent needs were required. They were very sensitive to mum's needs and, whilst trying to keep mum as independent as possible, they knew when and where to help her. Christies were excellent when dealing with any problems or queries. My sisters and I felt that mum was in very safe and capable hands. It meant that we were able to keep mum in her own home until the end, which was very important to her.
