Mum was hospitalised two days before our carer arrived, however, she was an absolute marvel. Her visits to the hospital took the pressure off me and helped mum hugely. She amused mum with her stories, stimulated her, prompted her liquid intake and fed her tasty croissants.
Once mum was in rehab,
they also went out for walks together. We would both have her back in an instant.

My dad has Parkinson's and has been cared for by my mum for over 15 years. It was becoming increasingly apparent that with the onset of early dementia, she needed assistance to care for him to enable them to stay together in their own home. However, they were both uneasy about someone living in their
home. They needn't have worried. The carer took only a few hours to assess the care needs of my dad taking into account that he is still relatively able if given the time and patience and guidance to be so, but also she assessed my mum's condition and gave her the respect she needed so she didn't feel sidelined. With care for my dad being so wonderfully given, my mum was able to relax and enjoy time out with friends and family and also enjoy quality time with her husband. Thank you.

My mother was cared for by Christies from October 2014 to her death aged 98 in December 2018. Carers always arrived on time and made careful notes of the procedures necessary. They bought provisions and managed the household. They helped in asking for special equipment - for example, the hoist that
was needed to lift her in and out of bed during her last three months of life. Her regular carer worked four weeks out of six and established an especially good relationship with my mother. Thanks to Christies Care, my mother was able to die peacefully at home in the presence of some of her family. She told me how lucky she was.

My son has used Christies Care Ltd for many years now and they have worked with me to ensure that the care he receives is suitable for him as he grows and develops. Christies Care Ltd always ask for feedback when my son has a carer new to them; there are now a couple of carers that have worked with

We have been extremely happy with the quality of the carers provided by Christies. Despite dealing with some difficult situations the carers have been professional in their dealings with our mother and with other agencies including carers and nurses. They have also shown very caring skills responding
to the emotional and physical needs of our mother with much kindness and sympathy.
The carer has also felt supported by the person in the office who we can also feed back to. Working together as a team has enabled our mother to remain in her own home with her own preferences fulfilled whenever possible.

The office staff provide a good service, they are always there to help and resolve situations.
The carers can be very varied in experience and expectations and it can be difficult to find suitable ladies to care for my sister. Overall the choice of carers has been average to good.
It would be good
to have a regular rota. I appreciate that it is difficult when it is the carer who decides when they want to work and control is taken away from Christie's but there are times when it just doesn't work. To be able to plan a holiday in advance would be great but it just isn't possible on these terms.

In the eighteen years that I have been on a social care package, Christies Care Ltd have been the best agency that have worked with me.
They have a diverse network of carers, each bringing their own skills and personalities.
It is also the only agency that I have been involved with that have allowed
me to choose my own carers.

The level of care provided has been excellent. Each carer has been kind, considerate and very competent with regards to Mum's care needs. The agency has listened to Mum's requests as to the type of person she would like to care for her, and in most cases this has been adhered to. Mum has got on better
with some carers than others, but this is only to be expected and relates to differences in personality. In terms of the personal care provided, I believe each carer has provided excellent care. The agency has been very responsive in addressing any concerns or queries I have had.

The two carers you supply alternately are absolutely fantastic. Very different from each other but both first rate in their care.
Nobody could ask for more. Unfortunately, the quality of this sort of care comes at a price more than most people can afford, so those that can are extremely lucky.

The standard of the carers is very variable.
We have had some very good ones, some very poor ones and some of a dubious character.
Christies in most cases fails to acknowledge this and gives the same old blah blah answer of "all of our carers are highly trained and experienced" which is most obviously
not always the case.
Whilst I believe Christies do their best it is obvious they struggle to find staff who have the motivation and/or skillset to do this job.
Considering the amount they charge it is not good value for money but given the poor choices for care in the UK we are stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea.
The marks below are the average because as stated some carers are great, but the standard is very inconsistent.

By their nature, these forms tend to be very prescriptive. We have had first class carers, good carers, average carers and poor carers. Examples of poor carers are a few who could not cope with the job and wished to leave, to someone who was drinking alcohol, to someone who went to her room to smoke
quite often when on duty and ignored a client who needed her.
This clearly does not apply to just one month, but I had to put a month in above (November 2018).

The overall service is excellent but is let down due to the non-availability of the same carers.
The constant stream of strangers is not good but some fantastic carers have been found this way. However, their availability becomes limited.

Christies have been providing a live-in carer for my elderly mother for more than a year now and we are very impressed with the service. The carers who come are friendly and efficient and have that perfect knack of respecting and encouraging mum’s independence whilst at the same time helping her as
necessary. It is such a relief to know that mum is happy and so well cared for.

My mother has been cared for by Christies carers for over 2 years. Christies management is very thorough and communication is good and understanding. The carers have all been well trained and try to make my mother's life as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately so far we only have one regular carer
and we were hoping to have a rota of three regular carers by this time, however, in the last six months my mother has had 8 different carers and only one would she not welcome back again. I understand the rotas must be extremely difficult to organise because several carers are only in this country a few months of the year.
My mother's health has deteriorated over this time and both the carers and Area Manager were very helpful with suggestions of equipment which might help my mother's mobility.
Some carers are better than others about stimulating my mother e.g. taking her out in her wheelchair or helping her to bake and Mum thinks many of the carers need more tuition in old-fashioned cooking.

Great service and made all the better recently by regularly rotating Mum's carers. Going through a heck of a lot myself at present, whilst my own County Council seem to be planning to remove all of my Mum's care package and let her and myself suffer.
However, the staff I have met through Christies
are highly competent, friendly and professional. I'm not worried about my mum's level of care whilst Christies provide it. She has complex needs and I'm so thankful to Christies for looking after her so well and for so long. I WISH MORE THAN ANYTHING THAT IT CONTINUES.

Regular carers are excellent but I am unconvinced that sufficient effort is put into ensuring the regulars attend as often as possible with the result that we are apparently now faced with a series of new faces. Although a carer schedule for most of 2018 was provided early in the year this has not been
forthcoming for future months which is disappointing.

Carers are extremely well trained and very caring and competent. They have tried to stimulate Dad and are very patient. They treat Dad and the family with respect and are very pro-active in trying to improve his life. We have only had three so far - two, we would be happy to return, one, we have requested
does not, because Dad did not get on with her. It is still early days, but one problem seems to be a lack of drivers, which is important to us. We have also found that though our care team at Head Office is very helpful, we have not always had all the information we need. For example, we missed out on an important mailing, for some reason, which caused problems with cover.
