Very efficient and very helpful. Carers are very suitably chosen and are all very accommodating, caring, thoughtful and easy to be with.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, I've passed on your comments to the carers and they were really pleased to hear your praise.
I have been in hospital three times during the past year. Each time we had carers from Christies to look after my husband (95), and without exception, they cared for him and the work of the house so well that I had no anxiety whatsoever. Thank you all!
We're really pleased that we managed to take the worry away for you. All credit to our carers who are delighted with your words. Thank you.
They were a professional and competent company to deal with and the carer giving the respite care was excellent. She was capable, friendly and efficient.
I was just like to say how happy my Mother was with her carer. She looked after my Mum for a week and I couldn't fault her care and work, my Mum was so pleased. Thank you so much. I would also like to thank Christies Care for their efficient work.
Paul, thank you so much for the review. I have passed on your praise to all the teams involved, including your Mum's carer.
Christies Care provided a live-in carer for Mum incredibly swiftly and efficiently, even though it was a bank holiday. The assessor was marvellous and submitted his report swiftly so that care could commence speedily. The administration and support by Christies Care has been extremely efficient, kind and caring. Both carers who have stayed with Mum have been absolutely exceptional. They are extremely gentle in their approach, attitude and speech, very respectful, friendly and approachable, whilst also being very professional and attentive to all Mum's needs. I genuinely cannot praise them highly enough, and the relief it provides, knowing such excellent care in place for Mum, is immense. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to praise us, Esther. We're delighted that you and your Mum found us 'absolutely exceptional'. Our administration teams work hard to make sure your experience is as smooth as possible at what can be a challenging time. Thanks again for sharing your experience of Christies. Kate
Once mum was in rehab, they also went out for walks together. We would both have her back in an instant.
Thank you for your review, Jean. We're really pleased your Mum got on so well with our carer and that she helped with her recovery. Let us know if you need us in the future. In the meantime, do pass on our good wishes to your Mum. Kate.
My dad has Parkinson's and has been cared for by my mum for over 15 years. It was becoming increasingly apparent that with the onset of early dementia, she needed assistance to care for him to enable them to stay together in their own home. However, they were both uneasy about someone living in their home. They needn't have worried. The carer took only a few hours to assess the care needs of my dad taking into account that he is still relatively able if given the time and patience and guidance to be so, but also she assessed my mum's condition and gave her the respect she needed so she didn't feel sidelined. With care for my dad being so wonderfully given, my mum was able to relax and enjoy time out with friends and family and also enjoy quality time with her husband. Thank you.
My mother was cared for by Christies from October 2014 to her death aged 98 in December 2018. Carers always arrived on time and made careful notes of the procedures necessary. They bought provisions and managed the household. They helped in asking for special equipment - for example, the hoist that was needed to lift her in and out of bed during her last three months of life. Her regular carer worked four weeks out of six and established an especially good relationship with my mother. Thanks to Christies Care, my mother was able to die peacefully at home in the presence of some of her family. She told me how lucky she was.
My son has used Christies Care Ltd for many years now and they have worked with me to ensure that the care he receives is suitable for him as he grows and develops. Christies Care Ltd always ask for feedback when my son has a carer new to them; there are now a couple of carers that have worked with my son closely that I would gladly regard them as part of my own family.
The carer has also felt supported by the person in the office who we can also feed back to. Working together as a team has enabled our mother to remain in her own home with her own preferences fulfilled whenever possible.
The carers can be very varied in experience and expectations and it can be difficult to find suitable ladies to care for my sister. Overall the choice of carers has been average to good.
It would be good to have a regular rota. I appreciate that it is difficult when it is the carer who decides when they want to work and control is taken away from Christie's but there are times when it just doesn't work. To be able to plan a holiday in advance would be great but it just isn't possible on these terms.
They have a diverse network of carers, each bringing their own skills and personalities.
It is also the only agency that I have been involved with that have allowed me to choose my own carers.
A few initial 'blips' but now in a pattern with two lovely ADC's/PA's/Batmen - we don't use the 'carer' word, not a description that is liked by my dad who at 91. He still feels he copes pretty well. Although...
The level of care provided has been excellent. Each carer has been kind, considerate and very competent with regards to Mum's care needs. The agency has listened to Mum's requests as to the type of person she would like to care for her, and in most cases this has been adhered to. Mum has got on better with some carers than others, but this is only to be expected and relates to differences in personality. In terms of the personal care provided, I believe each carer has provided excellent care. The agency has been very responsive in addressing any concerns or queries I have had.
Nobody could ask for more. Unfortunately, the quality of this sort of care comes at a price more than most people can afford, so those that can are extremely lucky.
We have had some very good ones, some very poor ones and some of a dubious character.
Christies in most cases fails to acknowledge this and gives the same old blah blah answer of "all of our carers are highly trained and experienced" which is most obviously not always the case.
Whilst I believe Christies do their best it is obvious they struggle to find staff who have the motivation and/or skillset to do this job.
Considering the amount they charge it is not good value for money but given the poor choices for care in the UK we are stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea.
The marks below are the average because as stated some carers are great, but the standard is very inconsistent.
This clearly does not apply to just one month, but I had to put a month in above (November 2018).
The constant stream of strangers is not good but some fantastic carers have been found this way. However, their availability becomes limited.
We have been very impressed with your company and the care and support offered to my Mother on the two occasions we have had live-in carers for her. We hope to book a carer from your company again in the New Year.
Christies have been providing a live-in carer for my elderly mother for more than a year now and we are very impressed with the service. The carers who come are friendly and efficient and have that perfect knack of respecting and encouraging mum’s independence whilst at the same time helping her as necessary. It is such a relief to know that mum is happy and so well cared for.
