Over all time Christies Care Ltd has 206 reviews.
My mother has had a live-in Christie's carer for about two months now. She was initially very reluctant, but soon responded to the well-trained, tactful, discreet, and friendly carer. After two weeks she had to move to another pre-arranged booking and we were very sorry to lose her, but the new lady was equally good and had to cope with a deterioration in my mother's condition after a fall while out with my brother. The carer has been very flexible and has been quick to find ways to calm and reassure my mother. She has also been very tactful and flexible in her dealings with the wider family. Christie's new client team are quick to respond and have provided very sensible and useful advice. I chose Christie's because of their commitment to training and their outstanding CQC rating. The carers also report that they are well looked after and I am sure this is reflected in the care they are then able to provide to much loved family members. I have been very impressed.
I am so happy to hear this, and thank you very much indeed for the review. I am particularly glad that our carers were able to overcome your mother's quite understandable reluctance and make it a success.
It's been a strange year since my dad passed away leaving Mum on her own in their house. However with these guys giving Mum the best possible care and attention it's been a bit easier. Having the updates from the care team has put our minds at rest on countless occasions. They've shown compassion and the highest professionalism many times. I can recommend these guys enough.
Thank you so very much for such a kind review, especially having gone through a difficult time.
The carer was a perfect fit for this client!
I am very glad that the carer was empathetic and easy to be around - that's something we pride ourselves on and carefully select and train the right people.
I cannot fault the service we received from Christie's. Both carers they provided were very well matched to my mother's temperament. They were good company for my mother but respectful of her wishes, in particular understanding that they were living in her house. They dealt with her medication correctly and knew when to seek help when her condition deteriorated. We all loved having them around. The Christie's team was always easy to get hold of on the telephone and checked in with us on a regular basis though not too often. Would definitely recommend it.
Lovely to read. I am particularly glad that the carers fitted your mother's temperament. In fact we measure this success rate, which hovers around just above nine out of ten.
I've been a client of Christies for 12 years, in that time majority of support workers I've had have helped me to live my life on my terms. I have found most support workers to be well-trained, calm, empathetic, and understanding of my needs. On the rare occasion when I do have an issue office staff/local area managers are always keen to listen and understand what the issue may be and work with me to provide a resolution satisfactory to all parties. Support staff have made a real difference to me and many enable me to thrive not just survive. Most support workers provide a high standard of support that meets all of my needs including my wider emotional and social needs. What sets Christie's apart is their high-quality training, furthermore, I have regular contact with the office and local area manager and this is the key to a good working relationship, keeping those communication channels open. This enables me to be honest with them and know that what I say will be taken seriously.
Thank you very much indeed for this review. I'm delighted to read that your support workers have let you live your life on your terms; exactly what they should do!
The Christie's carer was very kind with a great sense of humour. She was very skilled at supporting my mother in a gentle and discreet way whilst making her smile. She also got on well with my mother's partner and was very good at providing detailed records which reassured me that everything was going to plan.
This is lovely to hear. I am particularly glad to read that our carer was good at giving gentle and discreet support; that's something we pride ourselves on.
A very good service would not hesitate to use them again.
Thank you very much for such a kind review. I am particularly glad that the team was able to get you a carer so fast; it is something we can pretty much guarantee, because people do tend to want care in an emergency and our job is to get them that care when they want it.
My Father had a waking night carer for two weeks. She was absolutely lovely and very friendly and caring. She always reported to me in the morning about how my father had been at night. I can thoroughly recommend.
I am so very glad that it worked and that our carer was indeed friendly and caring, thank you very much for this review.
From the beginning things weren't great, Christies kept reducing the hours they were prepared to work at night, and whilst two of the carers were good, the other three were not: one expected my mum to clear up after her; one let my dad have a nasty fall that was avoidable and spoke to him in a very uncaring way (right up in his face, pointing viciously and having a go at him - he looked terrified), and the third carer ignored him when he needed help.
My dad was a lovely man and would do anything to help anyone; yet when he needed help he was treated so badly by Christies. When I complained to Christies, they said they didn't believe me and would do nothing about it, therefore these carers are still working within Christies. I cannot recommend Christies Care.
I am very sorry that you cannot recommend us. Thank you very much for letting me know your feelings. I believe you know my direct contact details, so if it would be useful, we can discuss our differences of opinion, whenever you want. It is extremely unusual that we have an unhappy client, so thank you again for sharing your feelings.
After being unexpectedly readmitted to hospital postoperatively in early March 2024 it rapidly became impossible for me to rely on village friends and thus I requested professional help with domestic, pet care, and driving. Christie's Care Company was recommended to me by two villagers already using care support. The speed with which I was visited, assessed, and then offered a carer was 48 hours, which I thought was incredible. My first carer arrived three days later. I was phoned by Christies Care on my birthday to congratulate me and I felt this was extraordinary attention. I have had three 24/7 carers to enable me during my convalescent stages and a couple more hospital readmissions. My needs have been managing the house and domestic responsibilities in my absence, which includes total pet care, and driving me whenever needed. The last two carers were lovely people - attentive, reliable, good drivers, easy company, and shared a similar sense of humour so we laughed a lot together.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review, I'm very glad that everything worked so well and that our carers were right for you.
Christie's was responsive and helpful when we contacted them and put all the arrangements in place with professionalism. We were very pleased with the service provided and have used Christie's in the past for our family.
I'm glad that we were responsive; it is something we have worked on for years, and pride ourselves on. And most importantly, I'm very glad that you were pleased.
Excellent service throughout. We were at first disappointed not to have a carer whom we had used before, but the 'substitute' carer was equally good - relatively new to Christies, but clearly well-trained. She adopted just the right approach to dealing with my wife, who has mild dementia.
Our carer was wonderful to my mother and father. They described her as 'perfect in every way'. She took time to get to know them both as people and what was important in the care regime to them and how they liked to live. She quickly worked out the deal breakers, the ways to a quick win with both parents and, as a family, we could not fault her. Big thanks to her and the Christies team.
Having previously used Christies Care to care for our neighbour, we had no hesitation in recruiting them again when my mother-in-law became in need of live-in care at the age of 98. Christies were incredibly efficient and helpful, managing to place a suitable carer at very short notice. My mother-in-law was extremely resistant to accepting care, but quickly appreciated the help, reassurance, companionship and care - both physical and emotional. Her carers were excellent, knowing when to step in, when to retreat, anticipating her needs and generally taking care of her, and she quickly became fond of most. Christies match clients with carers thoughtfully and monitor their clients' needs and any changes. They have high standards and expectations of their carers and will handle any issues professionally, sensitively and effectively. I was pleased that Christies lived up to our hopes from our previous use of them and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
I was concerned that my mother might struggle with a life in care but so relieved that mum has accepted the support and I can feel at ease that mum is being well looked after in my absence. The carers are professional and have shown my mother all their caring qualities. Excellent service, thank you.
I have truly impressed by everything Christies have done for our mum, from start to finish the care and support has been amazing. Our carer is a wonderful, kind person. I can’t recommend this company enough.
We have so far had two live-in carers for my mother provided by Christies Care. Both have been excellent. I live one hundred and fifty miles away from my mother and visit every three weeks or so. I have noticed a marked improvement in my mother's health. The carers are so kind and professional and they stimulate my mother and I can see how well-cared for she is. It gives me real peace of mind to know that she is safe (she was having frequent falls, which prompted the decision to have a live-in carer).
We have used this company several times and have always been impressed by their carers, administration and overall approach to looking after Mum. The carers have been kind, efficient and have built a good relationship with her and we look forward to continuing to use their services.
I was very well looked after and helped by both the carers who came. They were very patient and caring. I am most grateful. I will certainly be in contact with Christies Care if I need any help in the future.
My husband was very apprehensive about using an agency 24-hour carer. The carer is now considered a friend. He is a delightful man and goes above and beyond with his care. He is polite caring and very jolly. Nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly love to see him again the next time I feel the need for a break. Thank you.
