Over all time Christies Care Ltd has 206 reviews.
She was very conscientious, caring and did her utmost to please my mother - cooking her tasty meals and massaging her painful legs and feet.
We could not fault her or the efficiency of Christies Care.
From our experience, we would not hesitate to recommend this company and our carer.
This is our second experience of using Christies Care and yet again we cannot fault the care provided. The carer fitted in with Mum straight away. They got on so well and we would not hesitate to use again.
My stepmother broke her arm and initially, after the operation, stayed in a nursing home for respite care as I was going to be abroad when she came out of hospital. As soon as I was back in the country I wanted to help her be back in her home, as she wished. I called Christies Care and they immediately swung into action and within two days of my call, we met at my stepmother's home so Christies Care could assess her needs and assess the living arrangements for a live-in carer. Three days later after our initial assessment meeting, I was able to take my stepmother home and the live-in carer arrived for a three-week booking of respite care. Everything went smoothly. I was less stressed knowing my stepmother was being cared for and helped. The carer was very aware that my stepmother needed her own space to just read and watch TV and was very good at judging when she was needed and when to sit in her room on call. I can recommend Christies Care.
A few days after Christmas, my 92-year-old mother had to go into a care home suddenly after a fall. The home was very well-appointed but when after two months she remained unhappy and missed her own house, I decided to try moving her back there and try a live-in carer. I found Christies Care through a neighbour and we started using them in March 2023. Since then, our experience of Christies has been uniformly positive. The initial paperwork and interviews, while searching, were sensibly paced and efficiently handled. The billing has been smooth itself, with clear invoices and statements - in marked contrast to the care home where I had to juggle four different accounts! The standard of the three Christies carers my mother has had, so far, has been excellent. They've been extremely kind and tolerant, yet efficient and flexible. We are building up an excellent team of carers who can be with her in rotation for the long term. So all in all, I am delighted with Christies.
Thank you so very much for your review, it is lovely to read and I am going to pass your comments on to all the individuals/teams you mention.
The last two carers have been the most superb, very professional in their attitude to the job but kind and sensitive as well as fun and part of the family. Mum's house has been spotless and so tidy, both ladies have been very good cooks and fed Mum excellent home-cooked food alongside being very organised with shopping. Mum can be very rude and unnecessarily sharp (partly because of not wanting to need carers) and they have handled her with patience, I can only admire them as I go home and leave them dealing with her ungratefulness. The office is very efficient to communicate with and, apart from the gulping cost of live-in care, I have no hesitation in highly recommending Christies.
I will pass your positive comments on to the right people.
Christies Care responded quickly and efficiently to my initial enquiry and was a big step up from another company I had used formerly. I will not hesitate to contact them again in the future and the family and my father would be extremely happy if the same carer was able to return.
Thank you so very much for the kind review and such kind words. I am very glad that the carer was such a success. I've just written to the carer to thank her - you are right, she really is a star.
Excellent carer, very kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and a pleasure to have her look after Mum. Ensured I was kept updated on any issues. Kept the house very clean and tidy. Hopefully, she will help us again in future.
I am very glad that our carer was so excellent and that she was so kind and helpful and kept you up to date. Just what we like to hear!
In early January my father came home from hospital with a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer, extensive secondaries and a relatively short-term prognosis. It became clear that the family could not cope even with the amazing help we were already receiving via the hospice and NHS. One of the local care agencies recommended Christies Care live-in carer as an option for us. From the first call, Christies has been extremely thorough, going through all our requirements in order to make sure that the carer they provided will be suitable for our needs. Everything was handled extremely sensitively and professionally and the carer started within a few days. I have to say that she has been brilliant in every sense, hit the ground running and was incredibly flexible in her approach throughout dealing with my father whilst supporting my mother. I would have no hesitation in recommending Christies to anyone who unfortunately found themselves in a similar situation to us.
I am so glad to see that our carer showed the right level of flexibility and that the team handled things so sensitively. Thank you very much indeed for your kind words.
I found what could have been a difficult process was made easier by the efficient and pleasant staff.
Thank you very much for saying so - we are proud of the fact that we can always start fast and I will pass this review on to the team who did it. I am so glad that the potentially difficult process was made easier by the team.
From start to finish, our dealings with Christies have been top-class - professional, courteous and efficient. The process of arranging respite care to allow me to take a week's holiday was straightforward. Our Christies carer picked up the routine extremely quickly and worked effectively with our existing daily carers - it gave me great peace of mind that my mother was in safe hands whilst I was away. We would have no hesitation in using Christies again, nor in recommending them to others.
I am so very glad that you were able to have that peace of mind and a real break without worry. Just what we aim to do.
The changeover has been very smooth, and there has been someone to help me through each step. Just before Christies started, it became apparent that my mother would also need caring for. A quick call to Christies, and I was reassured that they could support my mother as well, no problem. Everyone is very helpful and understanding. Their telephone manner is very reassuring and helps you feel confident that the care will be too. The first carer started well, and my mother felt comfortable with her almost immediately. They provide an app, allowing you to read how care is being delivered to your loved ones.
We also needed carers who could drive due to the isolated location of my parent's house. Christies were able to do this.
It's early days, but the handover seems to have gone well, and my mother seems much happier with the care she is receiving.
Thank you so much for this review, and I am extremely happy to see that the change went well. The most important thing is that your parents are happy, and it seems that they are.
For us, this has been the best solution and I would definitely recommend live-in care.
Thank you for that lovely review and I am so very glad that the team's work was so efficient. More importantly, I am very happy indeed to hear that our carers have been able to help your father's health improve.
Excellent service provided by Christies Care, from the initial enquiry right through to the delightful live-in carers who look after my mother. Communication is timely and relevant by all members of the Christies team and I really feel that my mother's well-being, dignity and care needs are always at the forefront of everything the agency does. Christies Care has allowed me to return to being a daughter and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
I am so glad that our team were able to allow you to, as you put it, "return to being a daughter" - this is praise indeed, thank you very much.
Organisation/administration seems quite good. Regular contact from Christies Care. Only experienced two carers so far. It is taking some time to break the ice with my wife, who is resistant to outside help, but progress is being made as carers become tuned in to what is required - what approaches work and what do not. One carer is very limited in helping with cooking. Both have been willing and wanting to be involved.
In terms of the cooking help, this is very interesting and thank you for pointing it out. In fact, we have a programme looking at cooking and...
We have only been having a carer for my sister for five weeks, but I can honestly say that the carers are excellent. So far, we have had two for three weeks and one for two weeks; they have done everything that is required of them, and my sister is very well cared for by them.
I am very pleased that the carers are excellent and that they care for your sister well. This really shows that our efforts in recruiting the right carers and giving them the best training really do work.
For the last three months, my father has received live-in care with Christies Care. He is very weak and some days he finds it difficult to think and communicate. # I have been very impressed by the Christies carers. They are always there for him, they are skilful and patient and they give him time to communicate and listen to what he says. They operate with scrupulous honesty. We feel very relieved to have found this company.
Thank you very much indeed for your comments, you are right when you say that our carers are very impressive; they are the most important part of our team and we are extremely proud of them.
I have no hesitation in recommending Christies Care.
Thank you for such a good review and I am so very glad that the carers were so adaptable. We do emphasise this to them all but it is particularly lovely to see that it turns out to work in practice.
I would definitely use Christies Care again.
Thank you for such a kind review. You have said just what I hope people will say, that we take away worry. I know that when we looked after my grandmother, my mother said that it was the first time she hadn't worried for three years. I am so glad that we can do the same for others.
We had an overall good experience with Christies Care. Mum seemed happy with all the care given. The carers managed with a changing and sometimes challenging situation admirably. Christies communication was clear, easy and proactive. The app helped us all keep up to date with Mum's care. We have some nice memories from photos that were kindly taken. The company chooses the care carefully and fits to each person in need.
Thank you for the kind review, I am glad that our communication was clear and easy, as you know, communication is one of the most important things needed to make anything a success. Also, lovely to read that the carers managed admirably.
They not only kept me fully informed but were a great solace to my wife and I, in what were very trying circumstances.
My mother also had her beloved black labrador at home with her and again the carers looked after him with no hesitation.
I would recommend Christies Care to anyone who wanted live-in care of the highest quality.
I am so very glad that everything worked well and that your mother was able to be at home with her dog. Thank you so very much for such a kind review.
