J and K Care Specialists

I am absolutely disgusted with this company. I had someone come to my house who had no idea why she was asked to come - she just knew my name and address. There was no plan put together and I felt uncomfortable with her and found it very difficult to make conversation which caused a huge amount of anxiety. I asked them if it was possible to see somebody else and they said it wasn't a problem. I then heard nothing from them and after contacting them, they said they'd referred me back to our local county council due to me 'refusing' treatment. I was re-referred back to J and K and again, I heard nothing so contacted them again who informed me I've been declined. The person I saw also claims we made a plan which wasn't the case at all.

I think it's disgusting that a 'professional' company could say it's totally fine for me to see someone else, which clearly it wasn't, then not even inform me they've discharged me from their services.

The previous carers were not reliable, rushed Dad and were impatient with him. He became quite upset and deteriorated. The carers in J and K have been marvellous, reliable, regularly the same carers, and they spend time with him. The change in his well-being is so improved that he now has the confidence to go out and about again. From the moment one lady came to introduce their service, they have been excellent - definitely recommend.

J and K have lots of very nice carers who always make me feel comfortable. They are always chatty and friendly. The office team are always helpful, and I know I can call them if I have any problems. Would totally recommend J and K.

I have nothing but praise for J and K Care Specialists. They have supported my son superbly for over three years. Professionalism begins at the top with senior management, and this sets the standard throughout the organisation. The genuine interest shown in personalising the support to match the client's needs is simply excellent. J and K provide an efficient yet caring service together with the willingness to listen to and act in the interests of the client. This has been particularly noticeable during the difficult circumstances under the Covid restrictions. Anyone looking for trusted care specialists needs to look no further than J and K for a first-class service. The managers are particularly receptive and willing to go the extra mile to ensure the client feels securely supported at all times in a caring environment.

My mum had to swap care providers quickly (as the one she was with was closing). This caused great anxiety all round. J and K were recommended to us, and I rang them, and we arranged a date for them to visit us. The two ladies that came were not only professional but kind and caring. Although I was there with my mum chatting about her ongoing care needs, they were very focused on mum, and not only on her needs, her likes and dislikes and what was important to her. I realized then, that they were very person centred, and this put Mum (and me) in a very positive frame of mind. We have now been with them for over a year, and my mum is very happy with J and K. And when I visit Mum (as I don't live in the county), I can see she is being looked after well, is having good support with her care needs and has built bonds with her carer.

I have been with J and K now for over 6 years and been more than happy with their service. They interviewed me and asked my care preferences as to whether I wanted female care only or not fussy. Also whether I wanted any specific age group, ie. young, middle-aged or whatever. I stated my preferences and have been more than happy that all my requests have adhered to. All the girls/ladies that they have placed with me have been excellent and treated me with respect, and respected my dignity. If one of them has had to cancel their attendance with me through sickness or holiday cover has been sorted out very quickly even when I had an accident the office member came to the hospital and made sure everything was OK. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

J and K Care Specialists have provided support to first my sister who has downs syndrome and more latterly my elderly mother, over many years. I could not have coped through the last few years without them. They have shown great understanding of the needs of mum and my sister, have been flexible to the changing needs of the family and gone that extra step to provide what is needed. They have always found additional support in a crisis including overnight help. Most importantly both my sister and mum loved and welcomed their company.

I would totally recommend J and K Care Specialists to anyone and everyone. My daughter receives the highest quality care that I could truly hope for. I know J and K Care Specialists cover a wide spectrum of clients with many different needs. My daughter is severely autistic, non verbal, doubly incontinent and she also suffers with anxiety and behaviour issues. I completely trust every single carer who comes in to our home and take our daughter out in public, dealing with her every need, with the professionalism and dignity she deserves. They have also been amazing throughout this whole pandemic. The support my daughter has had has been second to none, it’s beyond words! I would highly recommend J and K Care Specialists, they are an amazing hard working front line company.

I have received care from J and K Specialist for over ten years, the care has been personal, responsive and supportive. In later years as the company has grown, communication has become more formal rather than personal which I preferred. Some of the newer rules are restricting especially the two week notice period for change of care. However, the individual carers remain approachable and flexible, meeting my personal needs within the constraints of a social service contract. I have always been treated with respect and dignity.

J and K have provided social and personal care for my son who has very complex needs for many years now. They are always consistent and punctual, friendly and adaptable and have a variety of very knowledgeable staff. My son has always been treated with the utmost respect and patience. They have supported us as a family and been a great help to us all over the years. Nothing seems too much trouble and I couldn’t be more grateful to have had and continue to have their support.
