Radfield Home Care have been caring for my husband, who suffers from a complex and progressive illness, for some time now. The carers who visit are all kind and very respectful of his dignity which I find reassuring. They always go the extra mile willingly if necessary.
His skin is in excellent condition
largely due to the diligent application of various creams and they are quick to point out any areas of concern. This is particularly important considering his lack of mobility.
As his illness progresses his care needs keep changing and these have always been accommodated to suit.
Whenever I have had reason to contact the office I have been dealt with promptly and efficiently which comes from the good management which is very evident.
My husband attends Radfield Day Centre once a week and though he contributes less and less due to his illness he is still happy to attend which is great for both of us.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Radfield if asked.

The experience of my aunt with Radfield has been excellent. My aunt finds the staff consistently kind, friendly and professional, and they enable her feel safe and secure in her own home. And we, her family feel very comfortable and assured that our aunt is safe and well looked after, and that Radfield
take care of her in the widest sense, and don't just deliver an agreed number of visits. Radfield are very responsive and proactive when we hit problems, responding flexibly and promptly.
We feel are very fortunate to have found Radfield, and we would recommend them to others.

Following a diagnosis of terminal bowel cancer in late September 2022, Radfield Home Care was employed by the NHS to visit my father three times daily.
My father was incredibly impressed with the professional yet friendly attitude of the staff. I wholeheartedly agree, the staff I met when visiting
my father were unfailingly professional and friendly and treated my father with great kindness until he sadly died on February 17th, 2023. Indeed my father spoke warmly of his carers. The admin staff were always very helpful when I called on them for advice.
I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the organisation.

Highly recommend Radfield Care, they have looked after my dad for the last year and the quality of the care provided was excellent. All the carers were so kind and caring toward my dad, it was such a weight off my mind knowing he was in good hands and well looked after. Too many carers to name individually
but they definitely went above and beyond! The office staff were great too, they always kept us in the loop and were always helpful whenever we called.

We both find the standard of care provided to be excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers who are always most polite and obliging. They are punctual, well presented and respectful. The girls work to a disciplined standard of principles and practice and go out of their way to ensure my wife
is being well looked after, comfortable and happy.
Upon arrival, they announce who they are, say a polite and friendly hello to my wife and myself and ask how our day has been. They then excuse themselves whilst they visit the bathroom to wash their hands and prepare for their rota. They then perform their duties, conversing with my wife and ensuring she is happy, satisfied and comfortable. They will share their experiences that day with us and always want to hear what my wife has been up to - being particularly happy and relieved if it is a day that has been without a fall.
When their rota is complete, they wish her a safe and happy night's sleep.

The team at Radfield are superb. Mom is very happy with all her support and care from the team. I can relax knowing she is looked after well.
The carers are kind, compassionate and helpful.
Mom also attends a day centre where she does arts and crafts, quizzes, gets to socially interact. Lunch and
snacks and transport are provided.
The best care company I have used and would recommend to everyone.

Due to the professionalism, understanding and efficiency of Radfield Home Care, my 90-year-old mum has been able to return to her own home within 24 hours notice. The Management team were superb, arranging a care package to holistically meet my mum's individual needs. The carers are fantastic, they
show empathy, patience and kindness in addition to a very high standard of care - nothing is ever too much trouble. Communication channels are excellent within the entire Radfield Homecare team - a vital quality to deliver safe and effective care. Thanks to Radfield Homecare I feel supported and reassured that Mum is receiving the best care as long as she is able to live safely at home.

All the carers were very helpful and friendly, and willing to do a variety of tasks, as requested. They were extremely reliable at coming at, or very near, the stated time. I am normally a very independent person, and the carers respected this even when they were giving me the help I then needed, as
I recovered from surgery.

When my mum came out of hospital after her stroke I wanted to find carers who would look after her in her own home, help her to feel safe and supported, and treated her like a person, not a patient. Radfield has given her all this and more. Their staff are kind and patient, they have taken the time
to get to know my mother, to give her space when she needs it, and to offer her company when she needs that too. They keep her flat tidy and clean. I thought that as such an independent person she would really react to having carers come into her home, but Radfield have made it such a reassuring experience for her, and for me.
Their communication is excellent. Living so far away from her I have so appreciated how reassuring and responsive they are - to last minute requests from me, and to any questions I have about her care. They really go the extra mile - and I can’t thank them or recommend them enough.

Radfield have been taking care of my grandmother for over two years now. She loves the carers and they always provide excellent, dignified care. They are a vital source of company for my grandmother and have developed wonderful relationships with her, often helping to keep up her spirits.
The management
team are fantastic and often go the extra mile to help, even doing laundry for my grandmother when a family bereavement made things difficult for me. Managers call me to keep me informed and make me feel as if I am in touch with my grandmother even though I live on the other side of the country.
I feel so fortunate to have Radfield looking after my grandmother and know she will receive the best possible care.

For the last few years, Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury & Oswestry have provided increasing amounts of care for my father as his condition deteriorated. The care has been exceptional and the relationship built up between my father, his partner and the carers has been lovely to see. Nothing is ever too
much trouble, dignity and respect are always shown, and as much laughter, activities and fun as possible. As my father transitioned into a care home, which was fairly traumatic for the family, the team at Radfield helped enormously in smoothing the way and taking a lot of stress away from us - for which I am eternally grateful. I cannot recommend Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury & Oswestry highly enough!

I have used Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury & Oswestry since August. The carers are all so thoughtful and kind. In September Mum broke her shoulder and sleeping nights were arranged for a month without any problem at all. We have now settled into a routine at weekends with two carers in the main, and
they are more like friends to my mum than carers.

We have been having help from Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury & Oswestry since July with personal care for my husband on 4 mornings a week. This help is proving to be invaluable; our carers are entirely reliable, very professional and capable and they look after my husband respectfully and with kindness.
They are also unfailingly cheerful and friendly, all I could wish for!

We would like to introduce you to Karen, Operations Manager for Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury and Oswestry. Karen supports, manages, guides and directs the care management team and undertakes business development work in the local communities that the office services.


Karen joined Radfield as an Operations Manager in February 2021 having spent over 35 years within the retail and customer service sector, most recently as a department store manager for a well-known high street store. Alongside this, Karen worked with various different charities, befriending societies, community groups and local care homes, making her best placed to take up the role of Operations Manager.

Job Title: Registered Care Manager Joined: 2022

We would like to introduce you to Gemma Baugh, Registered Care Manager for Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury and Oswestry. Gemma is responsible for liaising with clients, families and professionals to manage care needs and staff deployment, the creation and management of the rotas for clients and carers, and fundamentally, the safe running of the office.


Gemma explains her path to Registered Care Manager:


“I am a mother of 6 children, all of which are home-educated, and I previously worked as a vending operator filling the machines in hospitals and HMRC offices. I left to take care of my Nan who moved in with me when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. When my Nan passed away, I went into domiciliary care as I wanted to provide care for people’s loved ones as I did with my Nan. I then moved from Telford to Shrewsbury, where I applied to Radfield to be a Care Professional. I have made some great relationships with both the clients and the other Radfield colleagues. Things really took off from there, and I have had the opportunity to work in our branch office, as the Care Coordinator. And recently I have been fortunate to be appointed as the Care Manager, and all the while, undertaking my Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care alongside this – so there are plenty of opportunities to progress in the Social Care sector.”

We would like to introduce you to Rachel, Recruitment & Training Manager for Shrewsbury & Oswestry.


What is your background prior to joining Radfield?
I have over five years of experience in the health and social care sector. I began my career at Prestige Nursing & Care as a Branch Recruiter in Shrewsbury and Staffordshire, responsible for sourcing and onboarding care professionals. I was later promoted to Talent & Resource Lead at Head Office, managing recruitment for all permanent and fixed-term roles nationwide, including clinical positions, and working closely with branch managers and senior leadership.


Before this, I worked for a specialist education recruitment agency, placing teachers and support staff in schools across Shropshire. This gave me valuable experience with high-volume recruitment, compliance, and building strong relationships in both the education and care sectors.


How has your background prepared you for your new role at RHC?
My experience has given me both sector knowledge and recruitment expertise, which are essential for supporting Radfield Home Care as a high-quality care provider.


What has inspired you to want to be involved in the adult social care sector?
Personal experiences with my own family inspired my career in healthcare. Seeing the skill and compassion of care professionals made me appreciate their profound impact. The positive difference they made motivated me to work in a sector where empathy and expertise can transform lives.

My professional background and commitment to high standards will help me make a difference for Radfield’s clients.
