All carers that have come to support my mum and dad have been kind, helpful and understanding. The manager is always keen to help and support us as much as she can and checks if the service can be improved in any way. Both my mum and dad are happy to get support and I am pleased with the service they deliver. Thank you Radfield.
Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review. All our staff at Radfield work very hard to ensure a high quality of care is given to each of our clients and we take the time to ensure that we are doing everything we can to make sure we take a person-centred approach to the care we give our clients.
Carers from Radfield assisted me as primary carer and wife of the patient who was in the last stages of his fatal illness. They were courteous, professionally friendly with me and the elder (92) patient. Their professional care and handling of him was meticulous at all times. They followed the instructions of the hospice at home nurse and the district nurses in order to comfort, calm and cleanse him, working quietly and efficiently.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a lovely review. It means a lot to us and our carers to be able to support the client and their families at such a difficult time. Person-centred care, dignity and respect is very important to us and I will pass your kind words to our wonderful carers.
The carers promote good care and are generally very reliable. Problems do arise sometimes when carers ring in sick on a weekend. Office staff friendly and helpful.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review our service. We do apologise for any issues you have experienced. We always try our hardest to ensure that staff sickness does not impact on the service our clients receive, however, this is not always possible. Please do let us know straight away if any issues arise so we can do our very best to sort them out promptly for you.
Quite happy with Radfield.
We are very pleased that you are happy with Radfield and the care you are receiving. Thank you for taking the time to review our service.
My mother started using the care services at Radfield Home Care in mid-October. Since then, we have been impressed by the professional, caring service she has received. We particularly liked the initial 'setting up' of the contract. All aspects were carefully explained with no hidden costs. I also like that there is an office to visit rather than dealing with a 'faceless' business. Overall, so far, very happy.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are delighted that you are happy with the service.
Punctual in attending. Make time for conversation (which is important). Will re-introduce themselves to my mother (who has dementia) each visit. Adapt to whatever needs to be done on arrival at home and is professional in carrying out all duties. Friendly and cheerful and patient with both my parents.
I appreciate the proactive management of scheduling and notice of emergency changes to schedules.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of our service. It means a great deal to us to be able to support our clients and their families as well as possible and we are delighted to hear that you think we are doing a good job!
I have no complaints at all regarding staff and carers. However, I would say that the time allowed for the carers to get from place to place is ridiculous and results in them being late as the day goes on, no fault of theirs! Something should be done about it!
No complaints at all regarding the carers. All very pleasant and helpful.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review our service. We are sorry to hear your concerns about our carers travel time. Recently due to the roadworks around Shrewsbury carers have unfortunately been made late. We will, of course, review the travel time given to our staff and try to ensure that these problems don't arise in future.
All carers have done what I've asked for in a pleasant manner.
Office staff have always been helpful.
It is very kind of you to find the time to review our service, Mary. We are very happy that you feel that our carers and office teams are supporting you well. Please do let us know if there is anything else that we can help with at any point. Thank you.

Meet the Team (3)
We would like to introduce you to Karen, Operations Manager for Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury and Oswestry. Karen supports, manages, guides and directs the care management team and undertakes business development work in the local communities that the office services.
Karen joined Radfield as an Operations Manager in February 2021 having spent over 35 years within the retail and customer service sector, most recently as a department store manager for a well-known high street store. Alongside this, Karen worked with various different charities, befriending societies, community groups and local care homes, making her best placed to take up the role of Operations Manager.
We would like to introduce you to Gemma Baugh, Registered Care Manager for Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury and Oswestry. Gemma is responsible for liaising with clients, families and professionals to manage care needs and staff deployment, the creation and management of the rotas for clients and carers, and fundamentally, the safe running of the office.
Gemma explains her path to Registered Care Manager:
“I am a mother of 6 children, all of which are home-educated, and I previously worked as a vending operator filling the machines in hospitals and HMRC offices. I left to take care of my Nan who moved in with me when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. When my Nan passed away, I went into domiciliary care as I wanted to provide care for people’s loved ones as I did with my Nan. I then moved from Telford to Shrewsbury, where I applied to Radfield to be a Care Professional. I have made some great relationships with both the clients and the other Radfield colleagues. Things really took off from there, and I have had the opportunity to work in our branch office, as the Care Coordinator. And recently I have been fortunate to be appointed as the Care Manager, and all the while, undertaking my Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care alongside this – so there are plenty of opportunities to progress in the Social Care sector.”
Since joining Radfield as a Care Professional back in April 2022, Gemma’s experience and passion have proved so important:
“I feel I have lots of experience within the sector after working in the care sector for some time both personally with my Nan and with a company like Radfield. I’ve been fortunate to be able to work with a wide range of clients and care professionals, understanding their needs, and trying to build fulfilling relationships to ensure the best care for our people.
I have a passion for giving people the best quality of life they can have to be able to live an in-depth, independent life how they want to, especially after having family members go through difficult times and having some unprofessional experiences with other agencies. I always aim for continuity when coordinating our care, maximising our time with our clients and minimising our travel and waiting times.”
We would like to introduce you to Rachel, Recruitment & Training Manager for Shrewsbury & Oswestry.
I have over five years of experience in the health and social care sector. I began my career at Prestige Nursing & Care as a Branch Recruiter in Shrewsbury and Staffordshire, responsible for sourcing and onboarding care professionals. I was later promoted to Talent & Resource Lead at Head Office, managing recruitment for all permanent and fixed-term roles nationwide, including clinical positions, and working closely with branch managers and senior leadership.
Before this, I worked for a specialist education recruitment agency, placing teachers and support staff in schools across Shropshire. This gave me valuable experience with high-volume recruitment, compliance, and building strong relationships in both the education and care sectors.
My experience has given me both sector knowledge and recruitment expertise, which are essential for supporting Radfield Home Care as a high-quality care provider.
Personal experiences with my own family inspired my career in healthcare. Seeing the skill and compassion of care professionals made me appreciate their profound impact. The positive difference they made motivated me to work in a sector where empathy and expertise can transform lives.
My professional background and commitment to high standards will help me make a difference for Radfield’s clients. I understand that exceptional care relies on trust, listening, and meeting each person’s unique needs. I am excited to combine my skills with Radfield’s values to ensure clients receive respectful, personalised support and to help make a meaningful impact on their lives.
