They, along with the nurses that walked through our door, were angels from above.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
I have appreciated having care twice weekly for quite some time due to my incapacity. I have been waiting for a hip replacement operation for four years and my mobility has sadly suffered. I have had a number of falls over the past 2/3 years and have been hospitalised as a result of these. This means I need help with some personal care, so I rely on Somerset Care. I also enjoy meeting the care team and having a chat as well as the care they give me.
I first had visits from Somerset Care when my late husband became ill until he died in 2014. Four months later, in April 2015, I had a stroke, when I came out of the hospital, Somerset Care was there to help me, and I have been with them ever since. I have always found the carers most kind, thoughtful and willing to help. I look forward to their visits.
She is always very happy to see them and enjoys their little talks.
Always helpful and polite. Also, we have dealt with problems with the care package. They listened to our concerns and acted on them. We couldn't ask for any better service.
I am satisfied with the help and assistance I receive. They are very friendly and helpful, particularly with any problems I have.
All the carers are professional, kind, considerate and helpful. They have, in fact, become friends. Occasional problems arise when there are not enough carers available in the area due to a variety of reasons hence the carers that are available are often stressed and stretched to their limits.
Thank you for your lovely feedback about your care team - we are delighted that you are pleased with the care you receive. We are currently recruiting additional team members in your area and offer a comprehensive package of well-being support to all new and existing colleagues to help them look after their own health and well-being as they provide vital care for others.
On the whole, I'm very happy with the care provided by Somerset Care Community Services. On a few occasions, the carers have arrived later than arranged so I go on and tend to myself as I don't like to stay in my night clothes after 8.30 am. Apart from that, I'm very content with the carers and the care that I receive.
My care started from leaving a nursing home after hospitalisation with heart problems. My son and daughter arranged my care when leaving the home. I have already had Somerset Care to look after my wife, who has since died from Covid. The givers, therefore, are in effect, old friends, and it is always a delight to see them mornings and evenings. Always happy to go the extra mile, like bits of local shopping oh, in effect, a connection to the outside world.
My mother was a client of Somerset Care for over 8-years and on the whole, received good service. If any problems did occur, they were soon sorted by a quick phone call. Many of the carers were more like friends and were a great support to myself and family. My mum died at home in October, which was her wish. Without the dedication of the care team, this would not have been possible due to Covid and staff shortages, but they went above and beyond to keep her safe and comfortable in her last days.
The care I have been given has meant I could continue my life at home in dignity and as normal as way as possible. Smiling, happy staff make my days so much brighter, and they are all angels without wings.
I have recommended them to others who are seeking care and will continue to do so.
The carers are absolutely wonderful and my son gets on well with them. The management could be a lot better. When we first had carers for the first several years, it was the same time very morning, between 7.30 and 8 am. Now it is anytime from 7 am onwards, which my son doesn't like - he is a man of routine.
Our carer is primarily here to wash my husband but she does so much more - by having conversations with him while bathing him, asking him questions and leading him gently into using his brain! Anyone who has covered for our usual carer has been equally kind and efficient. Management has been equally kind and considerate. When I have phoned the office to let them know about changes in routine, my call has been answered quickly and the situation dealt with.
My experience with my carers has been first class. They always arrive on time with a warm welcome and always a smile. They were first class and more than willing to help. Now they have finished I will miss them very much. A big thank you to all the staff.
I had personal care for six months after coming out of hospital, and during a four-month course of chemotherapy. This was initially for 30 minutes morning and evening, after two months just mornings.
A core of some four or five carers came regularly, others occasionally. Inevitably they varied in their approach - most patiently encouraged me to do as much for myself as possible, one or two tended to take over and gave the impression they were in a hurry to complete the tasks. Some were chatty, others more reticent. In general, the care was good and reasonably consistent, and the staff friendly.
The most frustrating aspect was that they rarely came at the planned time. Some phoned to let us know if they would be delayed, which was helpful, others didn't. Sometimes the planned times were altered - management were apparently supposed to let us know but didn't.
Thank you so much for taking the time to submit a review on homecare.co.uk. If you would like to get in touch to discuss any of the points raised in your review further, please contact the office directly on 01823 447120.
Somerset Care are very kind and lovely to my husband. Just at the moment as he is very poorly, nothing seems too much for all those who come into our home.
We have been very grateful to our carers who have always been kind and helpful. Some are more thorough than others but we appreciate all help given.
Since care started, we have excellent service. Kept informed of any problems or things we need to know. Always punctual and friendly. Never in a rush. Very good staff.
A carer is an appropriate name for the people who attend on my mother as they are the most wonderfully caring, helpful and competent people. They are given enough time to carry out what is required and always do so carefully and in a friendly and warm manner. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Very happy with all the work and care the ladies give. They have been a great help to my family and me. They are on time and we are very happy about that.
