The carers were very kind and helpful to my husband. They treated him with respect and dignity.
I cannot praise the carers too highly, they are without exception not only kind and caring but always cheerful when dealing with any of our needs. Keeping us informed when minor changes occur (recent snow) and communication with us is at a very high standard. It's always a pleasure to see them they are a breath of fresh air.
Very happy with the care.
Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. They were considerate with 'taking over' they listened to me, where compassionate, honest and patient. Just a fabulous team of people. Nothing was too much trouble and they spent time listening to me crying and chatting.
It's a shame that there is a shortage of carers as it would have been nice to have a carer earlier in the morning. Staff attendance good and caring which was nice. Know time is of the essence but in some cases a bed made well makes all the difference. I was grateful for the help and understand how some clients wish to be independent but ant quite cope without exhausting themselves. I did try to help on this score. Overall, no complaints and thank you for being able to help before I could get there in the morning and the help in the evening after I left.
Strip washing quite good but soap not rinsed off skin. Time keeping good. Helper had a pleasant and cheery manner. She showed empathy and kindness.
Overall the carers did their best in view of the situation if being housebound unable to stand or walk. Overall on time for visits. When two woman were on call my mum was most happy.
During my short experience with 1st Homecare, I found it good and overall better than the first service I had before, however, my only fault I came across was I suppose personal, I was unfortunate to have one of my curtain strings broken by one of the carers as she was pulling the curtain. I did see her do this so I am in no doubt about it. After I had reported this I thought that something would be done about it but, alas not up to now, so I am still waiting to hear what is going to be done about it.
We are currently awaiting a quote for the repair of the curtain so that we can agree next steps.
Excellent service and very accommodating when altering times.
In June 2009, my father aged 94 began to require some help from carers. He was lucky to receive such help from another agency when, one carer decided to set up her own company 1st Homecare solutions and continued to assist my father as needed. Over the years until January 2016, with continuing daily use of help the company provided excellent help for my father. I believe that the company has gone from strength to strength. I cannot remember an occasion when they have failed to attend.
My first impressions turned out to be just right because their regular visits to my wife to maintain personal care or sometimes just sitting with her for up to five hours at a time, were just what I wanted. Their carers always arrived within minutes of their scheduled time and were always smartly dressed in uniform, and in their allotted time, did their job providing personal care as well as weekly changing the bed, servicing the room to my complete satisfaction.
Most times it was one of just two people who came- thus avoiding the need to explain everything more times than necessary. Unfortunately my wife's Alzheimer's combined with her physical weakness has meant that she has now gone into a care home so, on leaving 1st Homecare I am sending this review in the hope that it will be useful.
