My carer works hard and always requests work. She never avoids tasks and is always pleasant and anxious to please. She is polite and friendly, and if we use her care, she makes sure I am comfortable and safe.

My carers are compassionate, caring, always ready to listen to any concerns I have. They work very hard and always try to stop me doing jobs that are heavy and/or demanding.
My main problem has been being charged when my husband (who was the client then) was admitted to hospital where it was an impossibility
to give two weeks' notice which is required, by definition no one can give two weeks' notice when an emergency occurs.

Thank you for your review of our service. We do charge for cancellations that are within 14-days of the scheduled visit, and we understand that it is not always possible to know in advance if a visit has to be cancelled. However, if we did not require the 14-day notice period and we did not have alternative work that we can provide to our staff for a relatively short period of time, then the carer would lose a part of their monthly salary as a result. Because Home Instead charges, we are able to pay the carer, and we are also able to guarantee continuity of staff with the client that they have been visiting in the past.

All my carers were first class, but I must mention in particular my most regular carer for a pleasant and cheery overlook. She was at all times very quick, very efficient and soon adapted to our ways.
She was also very helpful to us with a temporary eye problem.

Having been with Home Instead for over 12-months, we are really pleased with the service. The carers are punctual, professional and extremely kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum has really improved mental and physically since being with the service and got into a good routine.

We needed to change over care providers quickly. Management and Staff were prompt, professional and put together a thorough and well-written care plan for mum, setting up care provision within a two-week swap over.
Mum's Carers were introduced prior to starting, and consistency of same carers and
times of visits are great as mum has Alzheimer's, and now has familiar faces who she trusts and gets on with.
Companionship has been a huge benefit to mum's welfare and demeanour going out for trips
The group between admin, carers and family has been invaluable to keep in touch/ask quick questions. The app updates after each visit, with a task list, is perfect to see how mum is doing and puts my mind at rest.
All staff, both in the office and caregivers, have been supportive, professional and mum gets on really well with them. The improvement in mum's character, reduction of stress for both of us since moving to HI is phenomenal and would recommend them wholeheartedly.

We have had amazing support from Home Instead. We thought it may be difficult, as Dad is living with us at the moment, after an accident. However, it has proved to be an easy and enjoyable process. The lovely ladies brighten up Dad's day, we all get along together well and have had some really good
fun together. Dad is always fresh and comfortable and I know, when he returns home, as is his wish. When he is stronger, we will have no concerns about his continued care. Thank you all.

I contacted Home Instead Rochdale as my mother had injured herself in March 2020 and I wanted to keep her out of a care home during the pandemic. The Director organised a team to start within 24 hours which allowed my mum to get back home from hospital quickly. Throughout the past 10 months, they have
been absolutely fantastic and especially one member of staff who has been amazing. Mum says she loves her more than us! They have also been flexible in the number of visits a day according to her needs over the months. Unfortunately, my mum has deteriorated after a recent fall so is in residential care but I cannot thank the Director and all the carers enough for helping mum stay in her own home as long as possible. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

Based on a recommendation, Home Instead were engaged to provide two daily visits for my elderly mother, following a bereavement and diagnosis of vascular dementia.
From the time of my initial enquiry, all contact with the company has been excellent - they have been professional, helpful, efficient
and courteous. My Mum struggled with anxiety and being left on her own and, with immediate family being so widespread, the two daily visits (which we later increased to three) were a great help and she really looked forward to them.
The carers were kind and considerate and I would have no hesitation in recommending this sort of 'companionship care' in the home. It was great for Mum but also provided a lot of reassurance for the family.
It isn't particularly cheap, especially on a tight budget, but as with everything else in life, you get what you pay for. You can probably find a cheaper alternative but I'd say the overall service levels, care and professionalism are definitely worth paying for.

Home Instead have delivered on their promise to provide dignified and quality care. The consistency of named carers visiting my mum is really appreciated by her and by her family. The care, friendship and compassion the carers provide is second to none. The Home Instead management team have also shown
my family real compassion and flexibility during some tough times. I would recommend their service to anyone planning care and support for themselves or their family.

Immediate trust engendered by carers. Hard-working and skilled and gave full value for the period paid for. What became apparent was their kindness and concern for both the client and her spouse. The strapline is 'to us it's personal' - we found that all the carers lived up to this. They became almost
like family. An outstanding experience, despite the unhappy circumstances.

I am disabled and deaf and my needs include shopping for food, housework, washing, garden and lawn mowing, handwashing, telephoning of all sorts, appointments, inquiries, prospective purchasing etc. All these needs have been and are being met each week willingly and expertly, and also include simple
food preparation. I have always felt I could ask for any variation on either of my two days a week.
Now that severe lockdowns are easing I will also need transport to appointments on my care days sometimes as I had before the COVID-19 situation.

My parents receive care 4 times a day from Home Instead Rochdale. They have a small group of regular carers who cover for each other so they always know the people who visit. I can not speak highly enough about the caregivers who treat my parents with dignity, respect, kindness and friendship.
My only
slight concern is the change from written documentation which is available in the home to online record-keeping which is completed on a phone and therefore not readily accessed by ourselves.

We are very pleased with the standard of care provided by Home Instead. All the carers are very kind, caring and efficient and many go above and beyond the required very high standards. One carer, in particular, regularly brings my aunt a home cooked meal from their own home and was going to have her
over on Christmas day except that she was rushed into hospital.

My mother had broken her right wrist and needed support to dress and wash. Following the removal of her pet, as my mother had lived alone, we continued with carers from Home Instead as they also provided companionship.
My mother also suffered from mild cognitive impairment (memory loss). The carers
were brilliant with my mother. It has only been as my mum has become very confused that I have had to move her to a care home. I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead to others. They are fantastic.

Home Instead provide an excellent service to you are 20-year-old daughter. They have worked with us as parents and our daughter to provide a bespoke service which fits her requirements perfectly. My daughter has the same carer on a daily basis who goes above and beyond. She is friendly, professional
and punctual. She has built an excellent relationship with our daughter and the care provided is very personal to her which included trips out and activities.

As the owner of Home Instead Rochdale, my focus is on the service first and the business second as I want to provide a quality service that I would be happy to use for myself and my family.


I have a daughter who used to live with me in Hebden Bridge but she has now flown the nest. When I am not dedicating my time to Home Instead, I enjoy hill walking- especially in the Lake District, spending time in my vegetable garden and looking after my chickens. I also love cooking, but it is really just an excuse to listen to football on the radio and to drink red wine!

I live in Bacup with my husband Jon, my two young boys Jack and Charlie and my daughter Rosie; my children are in infant school and nursery so outside of work I am busy looking after them and our cat Rodders! I love food, especially cheese, and love going camping in our tent as often as possible. My favourite holiday is our annual drive to the south of France to see my French family; it takes two days but the children love the journey!

I have always worked directly with the public. I have spent the last 16 years of my career working in the care sector with varied experience in Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Carer Support. I find my role exciting and rewarding, particularly engaging with the whole community and providing support wherever I can.


I was born in Rochdale and live locally. I have two teenage daughters and a cat, they all keep me very busy. When I get a chance to relax (in between being a mum taxi) I enjoy going to the theatre and I also volunteer at local am-dram societies.
