We do charge for cancellations that are within 14-days of the scheduled visit, and we understand that it is not always possible to know in advance if a visit has to be cancelled. However, if we did not require the 14-day notice period and we did not have alternative work that we can provide to our staff for a relatively short period of time, then the carer would lose a part of their monthly salary as a result. Because Home Instead charges, we are able to pay the carer, and we are also able to guarantee continuity of staff with the client that they have been visiting in the past.
