My wonderful parents have sadly both been diagnosed with Dementia on top of other health needs. It has been a painful few months watching them decline as they have tried desperately to cling on to their independence and continue to live together in their beautiful home. As a family, we have been incredibly stretched taking on the running of their financial affairs, house upkeep and management of their day-to-day needs.
We recently hit a crisis point and placed Mum and Dad in a care facility for a respite period. They were both incredibly unhappy and wanted to return home but we knew we needed care in place for this to be a safe option.

Luckily we were recommended Home Instead. Every aspect of the process has been exceptional and a staff member has matched my parents with a wonderful team of care professionals. We are only a week in but it has already made a huge difference to all concerned and we are so grateful we found your company.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this lovely review. It's been a pleasure supporting Mum and Dad to return home and witnessing the confidence that grows in them each day and being a part of the journey to gaining their independence back. The Care Professionals have already built a great bond and really enjoy visiting your Parents.

My Mum is nearly blind but still lives in her own bungalow.
I felt she needed some help with food and general cleaning and Home Instead was recommended to me.
In the last 3 years, they have been great.
Mum even says they are friends now and look forward to their visits.
I can highly recommend them.
They let us know who is coming each day and are on time.

Great service!

Home Instead have enabled us to keep our Dad in his home in his familiar environment. Without the service, my sister and I would have struggled to meet his daily needs as he slips evermore into the stranglehold that is Dementia. We rely on the carers to support Dad which enables us to know he's in safe hands while we enjoy time with our families. Caring for someone with this condition is a large commitment and responsibility. My sister and I work well together and hard to give our Dad a happy, safe and loving day-to-day life. The carers complement this ethos of care, they are all excellent caregivers and treat Dad with the utmost respect. He feels happy and safe with each one of the team. Big thanks Home Instead you have been there for us in our time of great need.

My 91-year-old mother lives independently in sheltered accommodation. We live a long distance away from her and Mum needed care to help her and to allow her to remain in her flat.
We had a recommendation from a friend about Homeinstead and decided to give them a try.
The carers go into see Mum three times a day and they have been a God send. Their attention to the support and care they give my Mum is excellent.
I cannot recommend them highly enough. I can see the record of their visits and what they have done to Mum via their app.
They have also been able to take Mum to appointments such as the dentists and outpatients at the hospital.
We have an email group to allow the carers to raise issues with me and my wife and to contact them. This works faultlessly and has allowed us to arrange shopping deliveries when her supplies are getting low or issues that require my wife and I to raise with doctors/pharmacists and the like.

They don't come cheap, but are worth every pound of it !

Back in May 2023, my mother had a serious fall and we needed some daytime assistance. Doing my research I found that Home Instead had good reviews. A meeting was arranged and we were impressed by the thorough and professional consultation that took place. The care we have had since the summer has been excellent. The carers have always been kind, considerate and professional, always happy to help in any way they can. This might be taking her shopping, or for a gentle stroll, or helping with laundry - all sorts of things. My mother has looked forward to their visits and regards them as friends. Communication is also very good with the office team ensuring everything is working well and monitoring the situation. My mother could not have continued to live at home without Home Instead. Sadly she has now to move into a care home due to health issues, but we are very grateful for the care she has had from Home Instead, and I can wholeheartedly recommend their service.

We use your services twice each week so that my partner can continue using the gym. It had become difficult for him to use the changing room and, of course, I was not allowed in there. With support, he can change and shower and use the gym facilities which will hopefully keep him fit and active.

Both office and care staff work extremely hard to provide a high level of care to my mum and reassurance for me, often going above and beyond in what they do. A regular team of caregivers has really helped my mum, who has dementia, to build relationships with them and for them to really know my mum and her care needs well. I am reassured that the time they spend with mum is time well spent, not just on the necessities, but also on ensuring mum has a bit of fun and enjoys the visit and the company of the caregivers, which is so important to her mental health and well-being.

Thank you everyone for not just making it feel like a 'job you do' but work that is worthwhile and makes a positive difference to me and my mum.

I would highly recommend Home Instead Rochdale. The care given to my father was of a very high standard. Delivered with loving care and compassion from every carer who looked after my dad. They go above and beyond to provide a professional, highly trained service for the client and also their family members.

Dad's end-of-life care was given with heartfelt love and dignity. Before that, he developed a close and friendly relationship with a carer who would keep him company once a week. Thank you for everything you did for my dad we would have all been lost without you all.

Home Instead (Rochdale) have been providing care services for my mother for over a year now. They have a wonderful team of people who provide excellent care and are all lovely individuals. They genuinely care for Mum and go above and beyond to make sure she is comfortable, happy and enjoys her food.

The office and management support is excellent - great communication and someone is always available to speak to in case of an emergency. They will also accommodate changes to the rota with reasonable notice and do try and help if it’s last minute.

My Aunt has been receiving care from Home Instead for the past four years. The staff have been amazing always helpful and professional and we have been confident that we could depend on them. As my Aunt's needs became more complex we found that the carers were ready and able to adapt to her changing needs. I would recommend them to anyone needing care in their own home.

I have been delighted with the care and support my mother and father have received from the HI team. Our family situation has evolved over a two-month period so needs have changed. The HI team have been flexible and understanding which has been hugely helpful. In addition, the need for care has never happened for the family before so it's been useful to draw on the experience within the team. Issues such as mental health, eating, drinking, taking medicine, mobility, sleep, cleaning, washing and other household essentials have all been discussed and steps are taken to identify solutions. The Care Professional in particular has been very helpful.

The team have worked with me to try and get some companionship in for my mum who has dementia and they have been amazing. It’s not an easy situation and the manager and her team have stuck with me and understand what is needed, which has been a massive support to ensure my mum and dad both get the best out of the service. Home Instead have been brilliant in helping us deal with a hugely stressful process. All the carers have been wonderful and prepared to go the extra mile to help in in times of crisis (of which there have been a few!) The admin has been equally seamless and stress free and they've all done such a lot to make our complicated situation completely manageable.

My feedback relates to one carer in particular for taking decisive actions last Thursday, when my father had a mini-stroke.
She recognised the potential symptoms, arranged for an ambulance and waited until it (and I) arrived. As a result, my father made a full recovery and was allowed to return home the same day.
Personally, I wouldn't have recognised the symptoms, so her actions avoided my father having to have a longer hospital stay, or worse.

We are in awe of the care provided by all your team, but last Thursday she really did go that extra mile

From the initial assessment in December 22, everything that was explained to mum and me has been followed to the letter.
All staff who I and Mum have met and spoken to on the phone, have been very helpful. Pleasant and caring, 100% commitment from all staff.
Thank you you have made Mum much happier and she feels more secure, so in turn, that makes things less stressful for me. As anyone who is an unpaid carer will know.

A follow up assessment was done last week which was really helpful.

I was very impressed by the way the Rochdale manager dealt with my aunt in the initial meeting. The manager put my aunt completely at ease and offered her important reassurance at what has to count as a difficult moment in her life. The manager left my aunt with "a good feeling" that has now been built on by the quality of the two carers who have attended her since that initial meeting. Having someone come into your home to take care of you because you've finally got to the stage of life when you need a bit of extra help is a big deal. The situation obviously requires handling with kindness and sensitivity, and this is precisely what the Home Instead carers have provided. In the space of only a few days, the daily visit from her carer is making a very positive difference to my aunt. She is receiving not just excellent practical help from her regular carer but genuine humanity and warmth.

As the owner of Home Instead Rochdale, my focus is on the service first and the business second as I want to provide a quality service that I would be happy to use for myself and my family.

I have a daughter who used to live with me in Hebden Bridge but she has now flown the nest. When I am not dedicating my time to Home Instead, I enjoy hill walking- especially in the Lake District, spending time in my vegetable garden and looking after my chickens. I also love cooking, but it is really just an excuse to listen to football on the radio and to drink red wine!
