We have nothing but praise for the team at Watford. We found ourselves in a sticky situation as our previous care provider gave us 4 days notice in which to find alternative care for our Mum who is 85 and has dementia. The manager of the carers immediately realised how tricky our situation was and
with a real sense of urgency pulled out the stops not only to provide cover but to ensure that the team members were a good match for Mum's personality and individual situation.
Our two main carers provided not only care but friendship and lots of laughter and we have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead Senior Care (Watford) to anyone needing care services for their loved ones.
Many thanks to the whole team for everything you did to ensure Mum was well cared for and happy!

Dear Angie, what a wonderful review. Thank you so much for taking the time to write it. I will pass this onto the team and in particular the carers who were very fond of mum. Best wishes, Alexis.

My 90-year-old sister-in-law has been receiving excellent care from Home Instead for a number of years.
She is a very independent lady but gets on very well with her carer and feels comfortable and safe.
When my daughter in law needed to go on holiday but needed care for her terminally ill mother
I recommended she contact Home Instead in Winchester.
Given the short time scale to arrange assistance the response was both immediate and positive.
The family enjoyed their holiday and mother was very relaxed and happy with her carer.

Excellent care provided by the carer, she is extremely capable and exceptionally friendly. We have also greatly supported by the local management team, who are very responsive to our needs. Of particular importance is client-centred care, keeping to one main carer and flexibility. Our present carer
fulfils all the requirements, as supported by her management team, so we remain very grateful to Home Instead Senior Care (Watford).

The carers from Home Instead are punctual, well trained and supportive and Mum rarely feels rushed. It's a big relief for my Sister and me to know that Mum now has reliable carers to get her up and put her to bed at night.

Home Instead was highly recommended by a friend of my daughter's. The company has certainly lived up to expectations. I have one of two bright, cheerful helpers daily. They are punctual, work hard and seem to know more about my needs than I do myself! I live alone and am set in my ways, so it could
have been a little difficult. However, the carers I have been assigned are not in the least intrusive, in fact, they have already become my friends.

I have used this care agency for companion care for my wife who has dementia. Earlier this year personal care has been added. The carers are excellent, good time keeping and professional. they are trustworthy to be left alone with my wife in the house.

This agency is very flexible and proactive in my mothers care. The ladies that look after her are kind, compassionate and go out of their way to help my mum and me too if I cannot do something for her myself. Thank you to all the team!

I am so grateful you are all there for my lovely mum, she still

has her sense of humour, so she can still show off her wit and the ladies seem to enjoy that too!

Our 90-year-old mother has been cared for by this great team of professionals for some years now. I believe that their contribution to Mums daily communication with the outside world has reduced the onset of any more serious deterioration in her faculties. Earlier this year when incontinence became
an issue, I was able to meet with the care team who proposed a change to the way Mums care would be provided. This has ensured that Mum no longer suffers the indignity of being soiled in the manner that had been happening. In fact, I'd say that the new routine has cured the problem and given Mum a new lease of life by being visited in the middle of the day eating a hot meal and having great dialogue for an hour breaking up the isolation otherwise experienced. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the whole team for such beautiful treatment and concern for our mother and hope they can be with her for as long as needed.

The carers are reliable and the office will let you know of any changes as to who is coming, which my father appreciates. We appreciate the care provided as we live at a distance but are reassured by the reliability and professionalism of the carers. They notice what needs doing before being asked and
are always polite and respectful.

My father looks forward to carers visits and always tells me what their families are doing - so they have time to chat too, which is important.

I am a full-time carer and my partner suffers from Parkinsons and dementia so I needed someone for one evening per week.
The Home Instead sitter was exactly who we were looking for. Profesional, friendly, caring and understanding. We really couldn't have asked for anyone better.
It was wonderful (and
also reassuring) to know that you didn't have to worry about anything.
Thank you Home Instead and all the staff.

I have been using Home Instead at Watford, both for my husband's care, and latterly my own, for over six years.

My husband (now 88) had to get out of bed, bathed and dressed every day for some 18 months before going into a nursing home.

I (now 83) am living alone and crippled but Home Instead

assist with shopping, laundry, cleaning etc a few hours a week. Their staff are bright, helpful and their office staff are excellent.

We look forward to seeing the carers, they always arrive promptly and greet me with a smile.
Any changes to care are notified and all carers who visit, know us.
They bring happiness and if my husband is feeling down they perk me up.
We look forward to seeing them every day.

After suffering a stroke in 2012 I spent 9 months in and out of hospital and rehab. When I came home in 2013 I was unable to walk, underweight and could do very little for myself. Home Instead carers started to look after me (and still do) and I have not looked back! Their kindness and care helped me
to improve day by day. They recognised that I would be able to do a lot for myself as my strength improved to the point of getting me to walk again! I can now walk with a frame, use my stroke hand and do so much more for myself that seemed impossible to achieve when I initially came home. Home Instead Senior Care continues to provide me with a high-quality care service. They continue to encourage me to do things for myself, help me where needed, make me laugh a lot and go above and beyond expectations. Thank you very much, Home Instead Senior Care.

Mum is very lucky to have two really excellent, regular carers. I cannot fault them, they are superb, very caring and have really got to know mum very well.
They are both completely reliable and we feel very happy, they relate to her so well. She still likes her independence, which they respect but
in turn, they know what she is not capable of and assist where necessary.
They liaise well between each other so nothing gets left undone.
Mum is extremely happy with her two regular carers and this is most important to us.
She looks forward to their visits.
Many thanks Home Instead.

The Home Instead team have provided regular care for me for over four years now. The carers are carefully chosen to suit the clients as far as possible and they are introduced to the family before starting. The carers and the Home Instead team become part of the family. The care provided is wide
ranging and, apart from preparing meals and helping with daily chores, their company is the most valuable aspect of their role. It is lovely to see a friendly face and to chat about life. We like the fact that the carers do not wear a uniform, so attention is not drawn to the vulnerability of the clients. We loved the family feeling we experienced at the fabulous afternoon tea last year for all clients, carers and families to attend.

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.833 for Home Instead (Watford) is calculated as follows: ( (25 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 30 Ratings = 4.833

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Home Instead (Watford) is based on 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4.5
