This is the first time I have met the carers of this care provided and I must admit I am very impressed. My sister seems more relaxed and happier than I have seen her in the past three years. The carers are happy and most willing to give all the help they can sometimes when circumstances are difficult.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this care company.

Home Instead have been great in helping us adjust to the change of introducing care into our home.
They have been responsive and very patient with our family in order to ensure we get the carers best suited to our requirements.
The carers themselves are absolutely lovely and do whatever is asked of
them.
There is one carer in particular who consistently gives over and beyond what is expected and is an absolute joy to have in our home.
Everyone I have been in contact with at Home Instead has been great and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of care.
Thank you for making this so easy for us.

The company has been very good recently in recognising mum's preference for fewer carers who she knows and gets on well with. Concentrating the care with a few known good carers has improved mum's confidence, satisfaction and quality of conversation.
The carers have also been proactive in addressing
problems with continence and have helped the family adapt the care regime to suit.

Have found the service to be professional and well arranged.
Mum loves her carers, they are friendly and really take their time with her. She is deaf and had Dementia, but does seem to remember the visits, if not the carers name. She always tells me what a nice time she has had and what a lovely lady.
I Cannot thank them enough for making me relaxed with someone else helping me look after my mum. Thank you.

My main carer is very good indeed. I came from another agency to be with her. The carers provided when she is off are usually pretty good, some better than others. Apart from the increase in hourly charges, things are good, but the fees now are really too high.

My mother in law needed assistance in heating up her evening meal and a little light housework.
Her carer understands her brief well and makes sure my mother in law has a meal, companionship and that all is well on leaving.
The carer shows initiative and willingness and gives us peace of mind.
We
are very grateful for her help and kindness.
My mother in law has dementia but the carer has managed to make her accepting of help and there is a good routine. We are thankful for Home Instead's help.

Since November 2015, when my mother started her care with Home Instead, we have been very satisfied with the level of help. Her carers have been splendid and we would be keen to recommend Home Instead to friends if they needed similar care.

They match the caregiver to client well. My caregiver is always on time. Home Instead always provide cover when my main carers are not available. They do regular reviews. The office is good if I have a query.

From the first phone call, my mind was put at rest. They understood my requirements and the appointment was made for an assessment to match my mother with a carer. My first meeting allayed all my fears. This company provided continuity of care with carers who empathised with their clients. My mother
had a rota of 3 carers who interact with her and also help with light housework. The improvement in my mother is wonderful to see. She loves the carers who attend her and has a laugh and a joke with them. I would recommend Home Instead to anybody.

My mother has been receiving care from Home Instead for 2/3 years now. The care has been excellent and if rarely, my mother has not liked a carer, they have been replaced with no bother whatsoever. The carers are kind, helpful and a great comfort to my mother.

They look after her completely, putting

her to bed, getting her up, cleaning the house, cooking her meals, giving her pills and ordering them for her. I cannot fault this company, they go above and beyond their care and duty. I couldn't contemplate using another company because this one is a hard act to follow.

I am very happy with the service we receive from the carers. There are several who come twice a day - one in the morning and one early evening at the appointed time, but they let me know in advance if there is a hold-up time.
The care of my husband's Parkinson's has made life much easier for both my
husband and myself. My husband is washed, dressed and shaved and helped to move from the bedroom with his zimmer frame to the bathroom and then to an armchair in the lounge. The routine is repeated in reverse in the evenings. His hospital bed is adjusted in height to make it easier for him to move. The carers of various ages are helpful and kind.

Throughout the time Home Instead and carers have looked after my father, we have experienced nothing but consistency of care, compassionate understanding of father's needs, recognition of his deteriorating capacity and adjustment of service appropriate to his condition, and unwavering support. On both
an emotional and a practical level. I genuinely have no idea how I could have managed dad at home without their assistance in many ways. Dad's carers became the family we do not have.

Home Instead are a very well run business employing caring support staff and care givers. Every effort was made to make mum comfortable at all times. Not all care givers could cope with my mum's dementia. I'm sure Home Instead will provide ongoing training to office staff and care givers in the future
following lessons learnt with my mum.

Reply from Peter Neighbour, Director at Home Instead (Watford)

Our client's dementia was initially quite challenging for our Caregivers, but we spent time with the client's family discussing different strategies to help care for the client more effectively and used our in-house dementia expert to assess and provide further tailored training to the Caregivers concerned. Over time the team evolved better strategies and were able to support the client much more effectively. We are also now in the process of rolling out Home Instead's City and Guilds accredited Dementia training to all our staff.

We worked with Home Instead to support my mother and father during what turned out to be the final 18 months of their life. My mother had terminal cancer, and my father had end stage COPD. They were both sound of mind, but living in a 3 story house was challenging, and keeping on top of it became impossible
as my mother dealt with some aggressive treatments.

We went to Home Instead after being recommended by a friend who works in social services in the area, and some research online. They sent us the most wonderful carer, who became a friend to mum and dad, and indeed to us children. She gave us peace of mind that mum and dad had the support they needed. She became such a friend that she actually attended both funerals. I think she was one of a kind - a carer by calling. She shown professionalism and kindness, treating my parents with great love and care.

The team at the office were always friendly and supportive, and did their best to met all our needs throughout the process

A social worker suggested Home Instead because we wanted the same person coming on a regular basis in the afternoons to provide companionship for our 87 year old stepmother who lived alone. Home Instead dealt with our request efficiently and found someone suitable who was reliable and punctual. Unfortunately,
my stepmother deteriorated and is now in a nursing home, however, we were pleased with the service provided and would recommend Home Instead.
