From the initial phone call, everything with these care providers has been excellent. They do what they say, from returning phone calls to arriving at agreed times. The person who visited at first was punctual and efficient. All the carers who have looked after my mum have been lovely with her- doing
the job with the utmost empathy and kindness, instilling confidence and trust all-round. I would recommend it without hesitation.

The care given to my dad was excellent. The carers were loving, understanding and patient. He was always happy to see them. They also supported my mum through this difficult time. It was comforting to know they were there for Dad. Thank you so much.

A well managed and caring service where Mum’s needs were met to a very high standard. As a shy and anxious lady, Mum was apprehensive about carers coming into her home, but the friendly, kind and professional carers made Mum feel at ease with the help she received. I would highly recommend Belong at
Home and cannot thank them enough for looking after Mum so well.

Belong at Home Atherton staff were patient, understanding and caring whilst looking after my father-in-law.
It was a difficult time for him and the family and they were great! The manager was so lovely and knowledgeable of what we needed.
The only criticism would be that the staff visiting weren't
consistent so he needed to learn lots of names. It would have been easier to have had a smaller number of regular staff who could have supported him.

My father receives homecare three days of the week. The carers who I know well now as we have the same carers regularly are always friendly, polite and prompt on arrival. They listen to my instruction and I trust them. There have been instances where my dad has been in immediate danger and the staff
have rapidly responded. All in all, I am pleased with the care that they provide my dad.

I am 88 and prognosis months only to live. Belong at Home's care goes far in helping me manage a difficult and most sad twilight of my life. Alone and widowed after 55 years of marriage.

I have been using Belong at Home Atherton for two years and in that time I have never had any issues with the standard of care, support and staff. Any problems or emergencies have always been dealt with immediately. Staff do leave occasionally but the standard of the new staff is still kept and they
are always friendly.
It eases one's mind when you know help is always there and most importantly at the end of a telephone.

Lesley

Lesley Bailey

Job Title: Area Manager

Lesley has an extensive career history in social care which began in a residential home in Salford, and later as a care assistant for social services for 9 years, before leaving to live in Holland and later Portugal. On returning to England in 2004, Lesley returned to social care, working at Cornwall Care as a community carer, before progressing within the company and becoming an area manager for two areas of domiciliary care in the area of St Ives and in Falmouth. Lesley returned back to Manchester, to be nearer to her parents in 2008, and managed a small residential home for people with mental illness before joining Belong, as the Registered Manager for the Belong at Home service in Atherton, in April 2019.

Andrew

Andrew Shield

Job Title: Head of Operations (Belong at Home)

Andy is a highly motivated and caring member of the Belong at Home team and its longest-standing colleague, having been appointed as its first community support worker when the service was launched in 2009.


He embodies Belong values and has worked across the various Belong at Home regions to support local teams through various challenging periods. He has been instrumental in developing the service to its current level and is committed to taking it to the next level, both in terms of business growth and closer integration with the villages to ensure our services operate in a complementary manner. He is loved and admired by customers and colleagues alike, working closely with his care team and also with other managers, providing support to all who need it. As Head of Operations (Belong at Home), Andrew maintains his focus on the customer, leading by example and showing his usual determination to ensure that clients receive person-centred support from a team in which he is personally invested. Andrew is a great example of someone who lives and breathes the organisation’s ethos, values and culture, and instils these into both his team and other managers. He is a truly inspirational individual.

Rachael

Rachael Sharp

Job Title: Practice Development Facilitator

Rachael is an outstanding trainer who has worked in the Health and Social Care sector for 29 years.


She started with Cheshire County Council in domiciliary care in 1996 and then joined CLS in 1997, where she worked as a Care Assistant and Care Team Leader before progressing to a Care Manager.


Recognising her passion for mentoring and developing others, she made the move to training company, Total People, where she worked for 15 years as a Training Advisor/Assessor/IQA supporting learners through various Health and Social Care qualifications at L2/3/5.


In 2017, she was appointed Practice Development Facilitator for Belong at Home, with responsibility for the professional development of our community support workers across all regions.


An invaluable member of our team, Rachael enjoys empowering others to be able to support customers in a person-centred way to ensure they receive continuity of high-quality care.

Elaine

Elaine Wilson

Job Title: Enquiry Manager Joined: 2016

Elaine brings a wealth of care sector experience to her role as Senior Enquiry Manager for Belong at Home and, above all, carries it out with enormous empathy and compassion.


She has supported the expansion of Belong’s home care service since 2016, providing advice, information and guidance to people seeking support in their own homes.


Prior to that she worked as Enquiry Manager for CLS Care Services for a number of years, applying her previous extensive experience as a frontline carer to bear in her ability to support enquirers through the process of finding the right care setting, as well as supporting managers to promote their care services effectively.


Elaine’s caring qualities have been honed over a long career in the care sector, which she first joined in 1988, holding a variety of roles, including Care Assistant, Activity Co-ordinator and Team Leader, before working as a highly effective Registered Home Manager for 15 years.
