Most clients are surprised that they have a choice! Their assessed allowance can for example be spent with whoever they choose, it does not have to be any old provider on the Council List. You can choose to have a private care company. We tailor our care to meet our client's needs, for us it's not a one size fits all approach so accurate prices are provided when we have discussed your needs . Gentle companionship/housekeeping for example in a live in care situation may require less complex care training and support than end of life care. Just call us for a chat to help you make a decision. And look at our reviews too. We are v proud of our reputation.

The carers were all lovely and so kind to him. As well as doing the jobs needed for his physical care they went over and above to support his mental health too. My father-in-law has dementia and they always made sure to check his diary and prepare him for anything happening that day and they left him little notes with smiley faces to remind him. If there were any problems at all they'd stay and wait with him until we could get there and they gave us full daily breakdowns of what they'd done and how he was.
The management were professional and supportive and responded to changes very quickly. You hear a lot of horror stories in the world of care but I can't praise Home Instead enough. In today's world it's rare to get a company that is exemplary in their service, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
Lovely to read that we made such a difference and enabled him to continue to live at home for as long as possible.
The only word that comes to mind is outstanding. They have looked after my mother for a number of years providing excellent care. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff will go the extra mile to make sure my mother is well cared for. Feedback is very good and the emergency call-out works very well. If you need care at home then Home Instead Market Harborough should be your first port of call.
We have had 5 years of excellent care from professional, experienced and friendly carers employed by Home Instead. They come on time and really do go beyond the call of duty to support the families of the clients too.
My sister and I have peace of mind that our mum and stepfather are well cared for each day as we don’t live too close. Both are happy with the carers who visit and appreciate the help and support given to them. Carers often go above and beyond what they are there for.
I am very impressed also, with the regular client reviews that are undertaken, to make sure your care is up to date and meets your client's changing needs.
I would recommend you to anyone requiring this service.
It’s so good for our team of care professionals to receive such a lovely review in recognition of their hard work - we all work very hard to take the greatest care of our clients and really do appreciate and thank you for taking the time to send this in.
The carers joined some specialist training and then supported my client through December and into the early part of 2023. They arranged for a small team to come and supported his morning routines with dignity. My client said, "they were good, and we could keep that team in mind for later".
Communication with the manager was so easy via telephone and email. No fuss and no drama - highly professional.
We were pleased to be able to support this young man with some specialist care to help him maintain his independence and dignity.
The carers are well trained in the care package that you need but are flexible tor respond to changed or deterioration of an individual's health. We have always been treated with dignity and the carers are responsive and include the whole family. The whole team, including the managers and office staff are fantastic and we feel safe in their hands.
Home Instead have been very helpful for my mother as Dad, the primary career for Mum, had an operation and was not able to care for Mum. Mum loves having her caregivers as they provide her a personal touch. This has helped Dad relax and recover and live his life without worrying about Mum.
Excellent time keepers.
Excellent small dedicated team, very good at their job.
Home Instead (Market Harborough, Corby & Oakham) was highly recommended to us by a friend and we haven’t been disappointed. We are pleased to have continuity with the same carers, who are professional and very thoughtful always. Nothing is rushed and dignity is paramount. We were especially pleased that a trained nurse is available to support the carers when necessary. We’re very happy that we chose Home Instead.
This is to record our unspeakable thanks to the care team who stood in our place for Dad recently. Dad significantly lost mobility after a fall and hospital stay. Home Instead were there for us when we needed them most. They certainly lived up to their logo, ’to us it’s personal’. When the nearest of our family were two hours’ drive away and Dad was short of medication, getting in a muddle, or needing personal help with getting up and getting dressed and personal care, they were there! Their attitude at all times on the telephone was one of ‘can do' where reassurance to a panicking distant relative was what was most needed. We were reassured on several occasions that they would ‘sort it out’ and would be there for Dad, and they really were. Their professionalism was exemplary, enabling a dignified elderly gentleman to receive personal care without embarrassment. Their practical abilities to sort a situation and give personal, attentive care are very much appreciated. Thank you so much!
I was delighted with the tactful care and concern shown by carers, it was like having a friend (a good friend) in the house with both carers. I never felt tense or anxious - the care was not only excellent it was also unobtrusive. The care the Home Instead carer gave was light years better than that I experienced via other agencies. I cannot recommend them (Home Instead) too highly.
Experience has been excellent, just expensive.
After a stay in hospital, my mother needed extra support which I felt we, as a family, could not supply entirely by ourselves. We contacted Home Instead, they assessed our situation and helped us by suggesting a package which was tailored to my mother's needs. On the first day, both myself and Mum felt a little nervous at accepting outside help, but we need not have worried. From day one, every carer that attended my mother was so professional, kind and reliable that it made Mum's recovery so much easier. I would not hesitate to use Home Instead again if the need arose and I know my mother feels the same.
Home Instead provided live-in care for my mother from late June 2020 until her death in January 2021. Two carers shared the role, alternating at weekly intervals. My mother had advanced vascular dementia and COPD, so could do relatively little for herself, and required total personal care. Both carers looked after my mother to a very high standard, stimulating and entertaining her on her good days, and gently nursing her with close care and attention, day and night when she was poorly. Both carers were competent with administering medication, which in my mother's case involved a baffling quantity of different tablets, as well as various inhalers and nebulisers. It was also crucial that my mother's fluids were kept up, and this was carefully managed by her carers. Our family found the carers easy to communicate with and friendly to be around. They also liaised well with the doctor's surgery, pharmacy and the supplementary carers who called to help with bathing etc.
Having Home Instead provided us with a massive sense of relief that Dad was being well looked after and nothing was ever too much trouble - for example, if we wanted to change hours etc. Staff always went the extra mile and Dad was treated with respect and care and we were 100% satisfied with the care and service given.
The issues of Covid 19 were dealt with professionally and in accordance with government guidelines whilst all staff maintained a friendly and approachable manner.
I would totally recommend Home Instead to anyone looking for care for their loved one.
The office and carers were superb, we all used an app which kept us up to date and informed.
I can highly recommend Home Instead for prompt, efficient and caring service in a friendly, homely manner. Thank you so very much.
Thank you so much - we will pass this on to our team who will be delighted to receive such lovely praise in recognition of their dedication and efforts in such difficult times.
When deciding that assistance with care was required for my wife, who is suffering with dementia, the first requirement was that it should be at home. We were recommended to Home Instead by a friend of our son whose parents-in-law were cared for by them. After a consultation we started with two carers for two hours, two days per week. As my wife's condition has progressed we have increased care to five days a week for two hours daily. We have a team of three carers who we now know very well. They are BRILLIANT. I cannot recommend them more highly. As I am over 80 and have certain medical conditions, I would not be able to look after my wife and she would have had to go into a home. Having Home Instead is the best decision we ever made. My wife is in her own home, comfortable and content. Just as we wished. Thank you for your care.
My Mum has been having daily visits for an hour from Home Instead caregivers for six months and a weekly companionship visit for much longer. She has mobility issues and dementia. The caregivers are all very friendly, kind and caring. The daily visits enable my Mum to continue living independently in her own home. As she has regular visits from a small core of caregivers she views them as friends which is lovely. The communication between the office and me works well, and the new app, which enables me to see the daily reports, is very helpful.
Home Instead has over the past 5 years provided excellent companionship and care for my Dad who has Alzheimer's. The caregivers have consistently been of a high standard. I would like to thank some staff in particular for their dedication and kindness to my Dad. Home Instead has always kept in close contact with me as next of kin and alerted me to any concerns they have had over Dad's wellbeing. I recommend them highly as support to those who have lost independence, as well as to the families of clients. Thank you Home Instead.

Angela, from Market Harborough, has been with Home Instead since its inception. Fully Care qualified & experienced and Home Instead City & Guilds Accredited trainer in Alzheimer's and Dementia, & End of Life, with Level 7 Leadership Health & Social Care, Angela did her Home Instead CAREGiver training with the first group when the company opened and has delivered exemplary care to many Home Instead clients in the area. Her great strength though is in people management and she has a wealth of experience in the service-based industry. This appointment has brought her full circle back into the health and wellbeing sector from when she was practice manager at a Health Centre in Perth Australia.
Angela commented, “I am very excited to be in this role. I have worked with Gail for many years and I admire her hard work and dedication to the vision of changing the face of ageing by providing top-quality care to the elderly. We only provide a minimum of one-hour visits and each caregiver is matched to their client, this ensures that we always maintain continuity of caregiver which helps to develop a trusting relationship.”
The only East Midlands home care provider for the elderly rated Outstanding in all areas by CQC makes me very proud. With local staff, we support clients in Leicester, Market Harborough, Oadby, Corby and Rutland areas with the highest quality companionship, care and personalised attention.
Caring for family members I realised that there was a real gap in provision for those who were "nervous of letting just anyone into their home" and seeing how a carefully matched and trained caregiver could make a difference to an individual's life, inspired me to open the local office.
Lucy joined Home Instead as a part-time caregiver, then developed progressed through scheduling to attain her Level 3 professional qualifications and join our team as our Care Manager. With a lifelong passion for caring for others, her early-bird hobbies (as well as a busy family life) are her two dogs and horses.
