Most clients are surprised that they have a choice! Their assessed allowance can for example be spent with whoever they choose, it does not have to be any old provider on the Council List. You can choose to have a private care company. We tailor our care to meet our client's needs, for us it's not a one size fits all approach so accurate prices are provided when we have discussed your needs . Gentle companionship/housekeeping for example in a live in care situation may require less complex care training and support than end of life care. Just call us for a chat to help you make a decision. And look at our reviews too. We are v proud of our reputation.

The family were very pleased with the professionalism of the company in general and thought that the staff were extremely kind and caring and sometimes experienced difficult circumstances which they handled very well. We would have no hesitation in recommending them. The carers were always on time and
if there were any changes to the schedule we were always given advanced warning.

I had to arrange care for my 74-year-old neighbour and friend at very short notice. Home Instead Market Harborough had been highly recommended to me and they responded promptly to my initial enquiry undertook a thorough assessment which focussed on a realistic view of my neighbour. Care was put in place
with the minimum of fuss and all the carers have been outstanding they take time to concentrate on the client's lives and needs and could not do more. They are a delight.

Initial contact and care plan professional. Carers well managed to my mother and developed a genuine relationship. Office and schedulers always efficient and responsive - able to add/extend visits when necessary. Always felt that carers and office staff were listening and responding to requests or concerns.
Staff always contacted me when necessary and appropriate. I always felt that we were partnering in my mother's care.

Home Instead provided care for my father from late 2017, through to July 2018. During this time they gave him excellent physical and moral support at a very difficult time for him. They understood his needs and individual carers made sure he was well catered for. First class service from a very professional
organisation.

The ladies had been visiting dad twice a week for the last 6 months of his life. While it meant I had help in the house, the biggest benefit of Home Instead was the excellent care and companionship dad received. In addition, I could go out safe in the knowledge that dad was being cared for so well.
They were not just caregivers to dad but friends to both of us. I am so glad I chose Home Instead.

Excellent care with the personal touch. Carers became good friends with mum. Allowed her to remain in her home that little bit longer.

We supported this lovely gentleman to help his wife live at home for as long as possible. Now we are happy to support him at home, and also assist him to visit his wife in the care home.

The caregivers who call are all friendly, cheerful and genuinely caring. The service is totally reliable giving me peace of mind when I'm not there. Having a team of three caregivers who cover all of mums calls means that she always sees a familiar face which is vital for someone with dementia. The
caregivers all understand the condition and work hard to meet mum's needs. A truly professional and caring organisation.

I booked Home Instead for one hour a day following knee replacement surgery. The carers helped me with basic tasks such as hair washing, basic food preparation and being in the house the first time I cooked a meal, took a shower etc, so I felt safe.
All the carers (mainly two) were compassionate, efficient
and helpful.

Home Instead excelled in setting up care with very little notice. The carers really did care and were well trained, had great empathy with my wife and on the whole fitted in with her temperament. Most were outstanding in this area.
It was a shame that, when it came to overnight care, an agreement with
the care provider was not possible and another company became involved as we would have preferred all care to be provided by Home Instead using carers we had come to like and trust.
The performance of Home Instead in different periods (holidays, sickness etc) was outstanding and the service never faltered.

Home Instead provided care for two years. They were kind, competent and provided care in a professional way, always punctual and respectful. Office staff excellent always keeping me informed about everything. The only thing I would say they could improve on is how to utilise their time better when providing
support and I think the carers need to use a bit more common sense. I do feel as though they don't do anything extra, even in emergencies without going through the "procedures". For instance, my friend fell, which happens frequently, she slips off her bed onto a crash mat, hoist in situ and 2 carers present but they wouldn't hoist her as they said the office had not had permission to use it from o/r. So she was left on the floor for 3 hours (no injuries) whilst 2 carers called me out and another carer at midnight. That's not good practise.

Reply from Gail Devereux-Batchelor, Managing Director at Home Instead (Market Harborough, Oadby, Corby & Oakham)

We have recently been rated Outstanding by CQC - the only local at home provider with this assessment and are proud to have robust procedures in place to ensure the safety of clients and staff and family members. All our staff must be properly trained to use any equipment (which would include any newly delivered items etc.)
Although frustrating for everyone, this sometimes means that we do have to keep a client comfortable, safe and warm whilst awaiting an occupational therapist or a person who is qualified to demonstrate, (rather than staff "having a go")just because newly delivered equipment may look familiar or an incident has happened at an inconvenient time. We always welcome feedback so that we can review and improve our procedures. Thank you.

Our two carers are both equally satisfactorily well trained to deal with my wife's dementia with dignity and are kindly understanding.
They are also able and willing to help me with various practical tasks. They are also friendly and approachable, I would be sorry to lose either of them after two years.
They are prompt, efficient, reliable and almost part of the family now, working in partnership with me.

My mother has Alzheimer's and had lost motivation due to memory loss. She would stay in bed refusing to engage with her husband who was her main carer. What a difference the Caregivers made. She looked forward to her daily am call where she was encouraged and supported to wash and dress and so much
more. They would sound like a couple of teenagers, laughing and experimenting with makeup and jewelry with mum emerging looking immaculate, smelling divine with newly washed and set hair, clean clothes with matching accessories which was always so important to Mum, doing a twirl for her husband's approval. I cannot praise the carers and company too highly. Their knowledge and the importance of sending two carers who became Mum's good friends was paramount. With the support of Home Instead Senior Care, Mum was able to remain in her home much longer than I imagined. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

All the carers provided by the agency treated my father with compassion, warmth and also humour when required. They became friends and almost like members of the family. They also helped myself to understand his dementia problems. A second opinion and fresh pair of eyes each day helped enormously and
made the situation much more manageable.
His dignity was always paramount in their approach to his care. Their arrival each morning was punctual and keenly looked forward to, they brightened his days.
My few dealings with the office were polite and efficient.

Angela, from Market Harborough, has been with Home Instead since its inception. Fully Care qualified & experienced and Home Instead City & Guilds Accredited trainer in Alzheimer's and Dementia, & End of Life, with Level 7 Leadership Health & Social Care, Angela did her Home Instead CAREGiver training with the first group when the company opened and has delivered exemplary care to many Home Instead clients in the area. Her great strength though is in people management and she has a wealth of experience in the service-based industry. This appointment has brought her full circle back into the health and wellbeing sector from when she was practice manager at a Health Centre in Perth Australia.

Angela commented, “I am very excited to be in this role. I have worked with Gail for many years and I admire her hard work and dedication to the vision of changing the face of ageing by providing top-quality care to the elderly. We only provide a minimum of one-hour visits and each caregiver is matched to their client, this ensures that we always maintain continuity of caregiver which helps to develop a trusting relationship.”

The only East Midlands home care provider for the elderly rated Outstanding in all areas by CQC makes me very proud. With local staff, we support clients in Leicester, Market Harborough, Oadby, Corby and Rutland areas with the highest quality companionship, care and personalised attention.

Caring for family members I realised that there was a real gap in provision for those who were "nervous of letting just anyone into their home" and seeing how a carefully matched and trained caregiver could make a difference to an individual's life, inspired me to open the local office.
