The review was very objective. No revised visitation to better suit his needs based on five months of experience.

My mother has been a client of several care agencies over the last fifteen years and I can honestly say that Cumbria Quality Care is the most impressive one she's had.
One of the main reasons for this is the extent of communication the agency has with both her and me.
This is most evident in times
of challenge - whether that's a challenge from my mother's end or theirs.
For example: as my mother's mobility has reduced and options for assisting her to get from A to B have minimised, they have worked hard to find ways around the problem - sometimes bringing in outside agencies and sometimes just spending time strategising solutions and experimenting with them.
The carers themselves are just that - caring. They view their role as a vocation rather than a job to simply pay the bills. They often go above and beyond the call of duty.
The set-up is reliable and trustworthy - a non-negotiable must for those whose day-to-day existence depends on these things.

I have no hesitation in recommending Cumbria Quality Care. Mum's carer for the past year has been outstanding - bright, chatty, kind and very caring and Mum really liked her. Unfortunately, Mum had a fall and is in hospital and will be unable to return to live at home. I am very sorry we are no longer
able to use Cumbria Quality Care.

Kindly let my husband break in slowly. Home visit first then a trial for two weeks. All going well so far. He is working on his own project with help from the staff. Appears to be ok with everything. Great help to me as I can get lots done that takes me away from the house knowing he is ok.

Mum looked forward to the girls coming to make her lunch.
She enjoyed their company and help with her jigsaw.

The ladies at Cumbria Quality Care have always provided excellent care for my Mum. However, it is the care they gave in the last few weeks of my Mum's life that have prompted me to write this. Once we realised that Mum was going to need extra care as she had moved into the latter stages of her life,
Cumbria quality Care could not have been more helpful. They were extremely flexible at very short notice and provided almost around the clock care for us instantly. All the girls were very flexible and went over and above to ensure my Mum was safe and comfortable, rearranging their own plans to stay with her. They were professional, helpful, supportive and extremely caring throughout.

My Uncle is well looked after by Cumbria Quality Care and all his needs are met. A very proactive service, friendly and any concerns are dealt with quickly.
When we first required care for my Uncle, the care package was put in place with 48 hours. The quickest response from the 3 companies contacted.
A small and friendly company.

My mother was treated with the greatest respect, kindness and dignity from all her carers. Communication with me was very good and if there were any concerns about her health/medical conditions they contacted me. Management were always accommodating if I had to change visit times or if I needed someone
to get shopping while I was away. Everyone was very helpful.

Cumbria Quality Care have been caring for my dad for several months now. My dad has lived by himself for many years and is very independent, but the transition into having carers come into his private home has been an easy one with this company.
He finds the staff very kind, friendly and very capable.
Nothing seems to be much trouble for the carers whether it be helping with his personal care or light housework etc. Also for my part when dealing with the owners and management of this company I find them super helpful in catering for my dad's needs, always ready and willing to assist with anything that may come up.

My husband, who uses a wheelchair and I was to be his escort when going out. He lives in a care home in Penrith. Buses from Appleby were cut in December, so I was not able to be the escort and the home could not release staff for nearly three hours to act as escort and transport. I contacted Cumbria
Quality Care and they agreed to do it. They did not just turn up at the time required but visited the day before to get to know my husband and find out his needs. He said they were excellent, efficient, caring, gently and he felt very safe. We shall defiantly use them again when we can afford it. Our sincere thanks.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
