The team at Bluebird have been providing care to my Grandad three times a week in Exmouth. All the staff from the carers, managers and administrators have provided a fantastic service from initial discussions and enquiries to delivering the service. All the carers have made a real effort to get to know my Grandad and he now looks forward to their visit where previously he was reluctant to accept help.

Having had two close spells in Hospital, some six weeks in total, it was clear that I needed personal care help, my wife suffers from acute arthritis so she would also benefit from knowing that I was getting daily help.
The assessment visit was very comprehensive and my needs were clearly understood, and my wife would also benefit from some home task help within the visit time. Our requirement of an 8ish am and around 19.30 pm visit time was possible. Something that other local care providers could not offer.
Initially I was unable to use a shower due to my lack of stability, that was not a problem as an assisted sink wash was managed.
As time progressed I was able to shower, with carer in attendance to help in the wash and drying process, giving me confidence.

Bluebird were very helpful in my wish to gradually reduce my Carer visit days as I became more able and confident and my final Carer visit date was 10 March 2025.

The team at BlueBird East Devon looked after my mum beautifully in her last months. Every function within the team (carers, office staff and managers) offered an exemplary service.

The team showed respect and compassion to my mum; respecting her wishes to be looked after in her home till the very end would not have been possible without their outstanding care. At times of crisis, they stepped in and flexed care provision to ensure Mum was kept safe. In particular, her main carers were there to support me as well as my mum. Continuity of care was so vitally important to my mum and her regular carers became friends very quickly; this level of kindness is so important when patients are nearing end of life, particularly those who are so fiercely independent, like my mum. Also, the team in the office were fabulous - they were both so calm and compassionate in moments of crisis! I can't recommend BlueBird highly enough. They are the very best.

My mother used Bluebird for just over a year, with visiting care for an hour each morning to help with washing, dressing, and minor chores. She only stopped when she needed a live-in care service.
The care provided was absolutely excellent. Bluebird is one of the most expensive agencies, but the standard of the care staff was faultless. She has made genuine friendships with the carers and was quite tearful about the idea of not seeing them again after moving to live-in care.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bluebird Exmouth for visiting care if you can afford them. The only niggle my mother had was communicating with the Bluebird office staff. When she was confused over appointment times, she would try to phone the office, but often the phone would go unanswered. Also, the emails giving her appointment times were from a "no reply" address. She would try to reply to them and was confused when they went unanswered. Those are the minor areas I think Bluebird could try to improve upon.

Whilst my wife was away on a respite break, carers came into our home twice a day to make sure I remembered to take my tablets and had breakfast or an evening meal. During the day, for one hour, an enabler visited me to chat with me and give me an opportunity to go for a walk, if I had any worries about the day I could talk about it with them. I found the carers and enabler were reliable, extremely polite, friendly, respectful and efficient. I enjoyed the time my wife was away and am very happy with the care provided. The electronic link my wife had with the care team was invaluable for reassurance and peace of mind. Easy to use.

Bluebird Exmouth are simply superb. Both within the office and the employees.
Whatever I request is given thought and if the result is not possible a reason is given and I can understand why, which is so important. Every effort is done to fulfil my request. For example, the person answering the mobile phone last Saturday was able to help with my request, a huge thank you to her.
My mother’s dementia is deteriorating and is totally understood by the staff in the office at Exmouth.
The carers are wonderful, I am often on my regular video call to Mummy when they arrive in the evening and I catch up with the regulars, whom Mummy feels so safe and happy with.

Thank you so much for your compassion and care, it is so appreciated.

I cannot praise or thank Bluebird Care enough for the incredible care they gave my Father-in-law, and also the support they gave to us, in the last few weeks of his life. Every single member of their wonderful team was without exception, polite, kind, thoughtful and above all professional. From the admin staff who carried out the initial assessment, to the fantastic team that came in around the clock to look after him. Because of Bluebird my Father-in-law was able to stay in his own home right up until he peacefully passed away. Thank you so much to each and every one of you.

Bluebird helped me look after my mum through the last four years of her life. She had dementia, which saw her decline slowly over that time. Following a stroke, her needs (and mine, as her prime carer) increased. Bluebird then came every morning for the last six months.
I received excellent support from the coordinators, who always did their best to organise carers for the days and times that suited us, even when needs changed.

Every carer was good at their job, providing gentle, respectful and very friendly care. I had my favourites, of course! Those who made me feel particularly supported through their professional experience and wonderful attitude to care. But, I was happy to see any of them. I couldn’t have done it without them, and I would recommend the organisation without hesitation to anyone who needs any level of help and support.

In May, my aunt suffered a deterioration in her health. We were fearful of how things would work out, regarding her quality of life. However, by increasing visits from Bluebird Care, she is once again feeling so much better and intends to carry on enjoying living in her own home. This situation could not have been achieved without the care and support which she has received from Bluebird. The service is so reliable, and my aunt sings the praises of those who visit her. Thank you, Bluebird - it makes a world of difference to know my aunt is happy again, and she is still doing so well at the grand age of 96-years (the same age as the Queen)!

I've been really impressed by Bluebird. The live-in-care manager took great care to match my parents with the right carer and even managed to extend the care with 1 day's notice when my father had a fall. My parents have now had 2 cares and both have been exemplary. The first carer was incredibly kind and attentive, taking care to work with my father's routines his mood lifted within days of her arrival. The second carer impressed from the start, containing pragmatism with kindness and generosity of spirit she looked after my mother initially whilst my father was in hospital, raising the spirits by cooking delicious food including wonderful cakes. Since my father's return, she has worked tirelessly and proactively to address his mobility and other issues. My father is really compatible with her and his improvement in the last 2 weeks is largely down to her. I do not know what we would have done without her.
