The carers and management team at Home Instead Darlington have been brilliant looking after my Aunty over a number of years of in-home care. As my Aunty's conditions deteriorated, the carers continued to support my Aunty in-home with an ever-increasing level of service including 24hr support. The management team flagged the challenges that we faced and then worked closely with me and our solicitors to transition my Aunty into permanent care. They helped me with the transition process and continued to send carers to visit my Aunty in the care home in order to provide a regular friendly face for her as she settled in. I live over 250 miles from my Aunty so couldn't deal with day-to-day issues; Home Instead were invaluable in providing that support. Over the years of care that Home Instead provided both in-home and during the transfer to permanent care, I can't praise them highly enough for their patience, tolerance, professionalism and humour. Many thanks to a wonderful team!
Thank you so much for your very kind comments. We all loved your Aunty, she was a strong woman with a fabulous character and it was only right that we were able to support her transition from own home to a local care home. It was a privilege to know her.
I have had care from Home Instead for almost seven years, firstly to look after my husband and now me. I have always found the carers so helpful with a very happy disposition and so willing to help with anything. Since lockdown a year ago a caregiver does my weekly shopping. She has been a marvellous help. Office communications are excellent.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to write this review.
The care provided by Home Instead senior care was excellent. The office staff provided weekly rotas in advance and were extremely helpful at providing extra care at short notice when needed. The caregivers were outstanding and gave excellent support for my mother.
Thank you for your kind words. The CAREGivers loved supporting your mother and always enjoyed their visits to her.
My mum, who has Alzheimer's, has a carer who comes twice a week to check she's taken medication and is set up for lunchtime (she forgets to eat otherwise). My mum doesn't have many conversations and spends her time doing crosswords. She's really happy with her carer, who admittedly doesn't have much to do, but she's a different face for Mum. All I care is that Mym is happy, which she is, and comfortable with her carer, which she is; she calls her, "her friend", which says it all for me.
Many thanks for your comments, it's good to know that your mum is enjoying the company of our caregivers.
During this unprecedented time of the pandemic due to Covid-19, my husband and I are in receipt of a fairly intense care package, and our Home Instead caregiver team have unfailingly cared or us with great skill, patience and kindness despite any possible risk to themselves.
Thank you for your kind response. These are certainly challenging times, but I know the team do everything possible to ensure the well-being and safety of our clients and their families are paramount.

We have never felt let down and feel perfectly able to make contact by phone and always receive full care, attention and prompt service. We recommend Home Instead Darlington to our friends and social contacts. Thank you to the whole team.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write and send this review and thank you for recommending our services to others.
The carers who work for 'Home Instead Senior Care' have been absolutely marvelous. They encourage me to do what I can for myself and assist where I can't. They are friendly and chatty, and nothing is too much trouble for them. They tidy up and leave the bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy. My confidence has grown as I feel totally safe when they are there. I would trust them with my life, my money and my belongings. They are very honest and caring.
I am so pleased to hear that you are enjoying the support you receive and it's heartening to know, that even though you started the service recently, the relationship you have with your caregivers is already strong. Thank you for taking the time to write the review and for your kind words.
Carers are prompt, polite and friendly. They have been extremely kind and patient with our parents, who are finding it difficult to adjust to accepting help (even when they really need it!). Concerns and changes requested have been promptly dealt with by the care manager.
Thank you very much for your kind words, it is really appreciated that you have taken the time to do this review for us.
The support provided by Home Instead to my elderly aunt; has been excellent. The carers have a good understanding of my aunt's needs, are able to empathise fully with her and on one occasion came to her rescue immediately when an emergency arose.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to review us. It's much appreciated. Diane.
During the 3 years of using care, each carer has provided good help in all areas needed.
From the first, the service has been good, friendly and enjoyable. The cooking, cleaning and organising have been of high standard. The carers all have characteristics of their own and it has been a pleasure.
Thank you for your kind words and it's great to hear how much you are enjoying the service.
Mum is very happy with carers and the care she is given.
I have found the carers from Home Instead to be reliable, versatile, kind and considerate in general.
I prefer the two carers particularly selected for us. In general, they all reach a high standard.
Keep Mum's bungalow very tidy.
The family are very pleased with all aspecfts of care.
Many thanks for your kind comments.
My mother, 87, was becoming lonely and isolated. The companionship she receives from her Home Instead visitor is a real lifeline. She loves her visits I think they talk non-stop for two hours and if she feels well enough they go for a walk or to pick up some shopping. The office support is efficient and makes the whole process painless.
Thank you for your kind words, it's great to hear that your mother enjoys her visits.
Morning assistance for my husband from bed to wash and dress and sometimes to provide breakfast allows me space to have my own breakfast in peace and to prepare for the day ahead.
When I have taken a short break overnight, breakfast, lunch and evening meal calls have worked well in coordination with visits from my husband's 2 daughters.
We are in our second year of care. We have had support from six different carers. They have been unfailingly excellent in delivering a range of service.
Many thanks for your kind comments.
I am very happy with how things have worked out with regard to my mother's care. She was not overkeen on accepting help but it has all gone well.
My recent need for a substantial increase in visits has been promptly dealt with and sorted out quickly.
Many thanks for your kind words.
Excellent service. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers who visit my father-in-law. Any worries the carers have are quickly and efficiently relayed through the main office to family members and vice versa, if the family wants to implement a change, this is readily accepted. I now feel happier that my father-in-law is in good hands, relieving the stress and worry I endured before enlisting the services of Home Instead Darlington.
Many thanks for your kind comments Kim. It's a pleasure to support your father-in-law. Kind regards Diane.
Extremely professional and caring service. My mother has been able to stay in her home knowing she has the care and companionship of Home Instead.
