We chose Home Instead as it advertises that you get the same carers every visit but sadly this wasn't the case for us. We had 14 different carers over a 15-month period and weren't told previously they were changing. Our mother is quiet and no trouble and just needed a meal doing and a wash each visit
but there seemed to be a huge breakdown in communication from what you requested to what was actually done. The staff who initially came to do a care plan left the job and it seemed that the information wasn't passed on to new staff. It was almost 12 months until they offered a bowl of water to wash mother. It was mentioned at the regular reviews but it still went on not being done. Although it is a good care provider this is just our experience. The carers are all lovely and you can trust them all within your home which is very reassuring. Just needs better communication.

We're really sorry to hear that you weren't 100% satisfied with the service provided by us. We take all feedback seriously and have conducted our own investigation into the comments made.
We can confirm your mum had 8 Care Professionals during her time with us. Four of these sadly left HI to further their careers, meaning four more carers were placed in the package to ensure adequate staffing.
We can confirm in a service review with yourself, the changes in the care plan specifically regarding washing were recorded and shared with your mum’s care team. There is evidence that this was successful when the client gave consent. Though we take families into account, we prioritise the client at the heart of our person-centred care and must gain their consent to carry out any tasks.
We can also confirm in the final quality assurance, you stated you were happy with the level of care your mum received and requested for no changes to be made.

Mum's two regular carers provide excellent support. They are friendly and professional and provide the family with helpful feedback. they have gained Mum's trust and after the first month she is pleased to see them, which allows us peace of mind.
Our only concern is that the carers are not qualified/trained
to administer eye drops and that this is taking some time to arrange.
The three managers I have met are pleasant and helpful and respond promptly. (New client 13th March 2023).

At my age, 88 years old, I realise I do need help. Mostly housework doing chores etc.
Especially washing, putting it on airer to dry, it is a great help. Apart from the housework I also have a "what" probably tell a joke and also hope they can tell me one! The ladies that come are all nice company.
