Every aspect of the service provided by Home Instead has been outstanding. The care my mum has received to date has been personalised and sensitive to her changing needs. Thank you to all at Home Instead.
Thank you for your review of our care and support, we have passed your feedback to the care professionals.
I have only praise for the Home Instead team looking after, and coordinating, the care for our parents, who both suffer from, dementia. They have differing needs, but the care professionals are able to attend to each of their needs and our parents are also very comfortable with the care they receive. They deal with personal needs, hygiene requirements and meal preparation, cleaning and all the other tasks that are required with utmost professionalism, kindness and each care professional has their own high standards. The care provided is not intrusive and without it, we have no doubt that our parents would not be able to remain in their own home. We have enjoyed a good relationship with all the care professionals and we trust them. They always prompt us when additional needs arise, whether temporary or not, and this is important to us as needs are evolving and we are not present on a daily basis, but they are.
Thank you for this review, we are delighted to have met your expectations. The care professionals who care for your parents really enjoy their visits and the relationship they have with them and you. We have shared your kind words with them.
We are so pleased we had Home Instead recommended to us. Everything is of the highest standard. There is great attention to detail. We have every confidence in them and they provide a great sense of safety and security to both the client and relatives. Best and most important of all are the staff, both carers and administrative. They are such lovely, caring, friendly, professional and skilled people who very quickly build up excellent relationships with both client and relatives. Nothing is ever too much bother and they go above and beyond. They are very approachable. The telephone is answered instantly, at whatever time, by a friendly, sympathetic member of staff who is ready to listen and who takes speedy action, if required. Great care is taken in the drawing up of a bespoke, individual care plan to cater for the client's needs and wishes. It is also good to have carers and administrators, who obviously enjoy their work. We have no reservations at all in recommending Home Instead.
Thank you for your review and your exceptionally kind words, which we have shared with the team who support your family member
I was recommended this company by a family member and we have been suitably impressed with the professionalism, quality of care and friendship they have brought to my parent’s life. The peace of mind this has given us as a family can only be described as invaluable. The management team have been exemplary as have the carers. What impresses me is the mutual appreciation of both for each other- rarely seen in most companies. Well done Home Instead- no hesitation in recommending.
Thank you for this review and your kind words, we are pleased to have met your expectations.
They have also helped in the home which has helped me, so I can spend a shorter time cleaning the kitchen and doing some washing. I like the portal so I can check on Mum every day. Overall I would recommend Home Instead to anyone who needs professional carers.
Thank you for your review of our service, we have passed your kind words on to the ladies who support your mum.
I have nothing but praise for the carers and administrators of Home Instead Durham. They go out of their way to assist my Mother, now 93, and are always available for advice and support. They help with solving any issues and are true solutionaries, coming up with practical ways to overcome challenges and looking after every aspect of my mother's needs. I have had experiences with other care providers, Home Instead may be a bit more expensive but they are worth every penny. As I live outside the UK having honest, professional, quality care is essential for our peace of mind.
Thank you for this lovely review, we have shared your praise with the ladies who support your mother.
The carers that look after Mum are great, they keep in touch with me and let me know how things are going and if Mum has run out of anything and give me peace of mind that not only do I know Mum is spending some time with someone during the day but that they are also looking after her needs and helping us out by keeping on top of Mum's flat too. Don't know where we would be without them.
Thank you for your review, we have passed this to the care pros who support your mum.
Mum was extremely well cared for by the team of carers that supported her and also the staff in the office in providing support for Mum and also my sister and me. Starting the process of having carers for Mum was a new and worrying time, Home Instead, Durham, helped enormously in reassuring us and providing that personal care and attention for us. We liked the small team who were allocated to Mum enabling Mum to get to know them quickly. Each team member was professional, and efficient and above all showed real care for Mum. They each brought their own personalities which brought out different things in mum. We couldn't be happier with the care that Mum has had.
Thank you for taking the time to review us, we have passed your lovely feedback on to the team.
Thank you, again, Home Instead for looking after my family as you have done in the past, with such professionalism, kindness, dignity and respect.
Thank you so much for this review, we will share this with those involved. Your brother-in-law was a lovely man and we were pleased we could support him at such a difficult time.
I particularly like the fact that a visit is a minimum of 1 hour, and along with the no-uniform policy, a real relationship can be built.
Living so far away means that I can only visit once a week, so I get tremendous peace of mind knowing my mother is cared for.
It really feels like the carers actually care about my mother.
Thank you so much for this review, we are pleased we have exceeded your expectations, we put building relationships at the heart of all we do.
I look forward to the girls coming, enjoy the natter. Works well for me.
Thank you for reviewing, the ladies who visit you look forward to their visits.
Always provided first rate standard of care. High quality management ensures caring needs are met with minimum fuss.
Superb service, excellent staff, would recommend to anyone.
Thank you for your review, reviews help other families to make choices.
Very happy with the services provided - carers and office staff are extremely helpful, supportive and responsive. They provide advice when needed and are really flexible with adjusting visits to accommodate various appointments.
First-class service, always on time and perform the tasks required.
Reliability has been first class and one or two of the carers have been able to take our father out for “mini trips” to entertain him.
We are most grateful for the care and attention provided and the gentle yet firm approach to somebody who, like many his age, can prove demanding.
Thank you.
Thank you for your review, the care pros who support your dad enjoy their visits.
Completely happy with Home Instead. Friendly, good service and very adaptable to needs.
Thank you for taking the time to review us, you feedback is important to us.
I managed without carers for longer than needed. I was concerned that my needs would be a barrier, however, the ladies are all professional, non-judgemental and nothing is too much trouble. They even get me to hospital appointments and hairdressers. If they have suggestions they do it in a pleasant way.
Thank you for your review, we are pleased you are happy with the service we provide.
The carers who come to look after my husband are always punctual, very friendly and efficient. They always offer to do extra jobs and are very willing to drive me to the leisure centre. They take my husband for good walks which gives him valuable exercise. Toilet needs and showers are done with care and dignity.
Thank you for this review, we are so pleased that you are happy with our service.
Having experienced and been disappointed by other care providers, I was persuaded by a friend to contact "Home Instead", where I discovered a very different attitude towards home care. The service provided was tailored to the individual needs of the patient with sensitivity and respect, and the interviewer took the time and trouble to make a suitable match and timetable for the carer. We were really pleased when the carer arrived with a smile on his face, a cheerful personality and who carried out an efficient standard of care with thought, kindness and patience. Subsequently, my husband's health has deteriorated, and we now have three carers, all of whom give us this high standard of care, and we are well satisfied - a result, happy and grateful customers.
Thank you, Rita, for this glowing review; we are so pleased that we exceeded your expectations and that you are happy with the service. We have passed your lovely words on to the carers who visit you.

Meet the Team (7)
As our Operational Manager, I am responsible for ensuring that clients have the highest quality care and that we exceed all their expectations.
I am registered with CQC who monitor the provision of care, ensuring that standards are met. I'm very proud to work for a company that has achieved the rating of OUTSTANDING from CQC three times. This is the highest rating they can award and we are so proud to have achieved this!
I have managed a variety of care settings over the last 25 years and I always take a person-centred approach to the care we deliver.
I meet new clients and their families to discuss their needs and the type of care that they would like, we work to meet the needs of the client, and we don't expect our clients to fit in with current schedules, the client tells me when they would like their visits and for how long, I then write a care plan unique to the individual and match them with care pros to ensure a really good relationship is built.
I joined Home Instead Durham in 2019. As our Care Manager, I support our Operational Manager Helen on a daily basis and I have a varied role which includes supporting and supervising our team of staff, delivering training, meeting new clients and families to plan their care, visits to clients to monitor the quality of the care they receive and directly supporting clients to ensure we are providing the best possible quality care.
I joined the Durham team as a care pro in 2020, after working for another Home Instead office in Devon. in 2021 I was promoted to join the office support team.
As our Care Quality Lead, my role is very varied. From recruitment, meeting prospective new clients and their families and developing bespoke care plans that carefully meet their needs. I support the training of our Care Professionals and I am our designated Mental Health First Aider, a role which allows me to give extra support and signposting to any of our team who need it.
I have been with Home Instead for 11 years, I am the first point of contact people have with Home Instead, I answer the phone and greet visitors.
As an Operational Support officer, my role is to ensure that our clients get the support they need at the right time, with the right care pro. We carefully match our carers and clients so that we can provide relationship-led care and support.
I love being involved in hosting our companionship cafes and making sure people feel welcome. I have a lot of contact with our Care Professionals and I’m part of our recruitment and retention team, making sure we look after our team so they can look after our clients.
I started working at Home Instead Durham in 2019 as a Care Professional, then I was successful in 2021 in achieving a role as part of the office support team as a Care Quality Supervisor. My role is to supervise and support care pros to deliver the highest quality care. I work with new staff to ensure they are well supported and to guide them through completing their Care Certificate.
I visit clients to carry out quality monitoring as well support them with their care and carry out moving assessments as required.
I joined the team in 2023 as a Care Professional having moved 'up North' from another Home Instead Franchise. I am new to my role as Field Support Supervisor within the office support team. This role includes supporting Care Professionals to provide outstanding care, carrying out 1-1 supervision, and visiting clients to either provide care or to check that their care continues to meet their needs and they are happy with the quality of the service we provide.
I joined Home Instead as a Care Professional in 2016 and loved visiting my clients and supporting them. Then I had the opportunity to join the office team as the scheduler ensuring that our clients are matched with the right care pros so relationships can be built and that care pros have schedules that meet their availability, whilst ensuring consistency for our clients, and that every visit is always for at least 1 hour.
