Our experience with Home Instead for Mum has been extremely positive. All the carers have been well trained, sensitive, attentive and kind. We notice a positive change in Mum's mood whenever she interacts with the carers. As Mum has dementia, they manage her with the correct level of empathy, patience and the right approach to prompt her for dressing and shower etc. which is a private sensitive topic for anyone.
If tasks need to be done in the house, they will also complete these if time allows and primary care for Mum is completed.
The daily updates on the App are so useful as this helps close family members to monitor the situation.
Primary carer is assigned to allow build up of good relationships while still having a back up team in case of unavailability to ensure continuity.

We are fully happy with the service from Home Instead so far. One improvement would be to enable carers to accompany Mum on walks or to Dementia groups if possible.

Thank you for your fantastic review. It's a pleasure to care for your mum. Please contact Eilish, who would be more than happy to set a time to take your mum out for walks or to the dementia groups.

Highly recommend the care and support provided from Home Instead. They do everything correctly and assessed my mum's needs fully with a co-ordinated approach. The dedicated care staff work to a very high standard and always kept the family informed of any concerns. It was such a relief to know mum was in safe hands and mum's wishes were respected at all times. Mum's end of life care was met with dignity and love. Forever grateful.

Eilish has been brilliant in arranging companionship visits for my 98 year old Mum. The visits have really helped lift Mum's spirits as she can't get out by herself anymore. Mum was carefully matched to her carer and they get on brilliantly. Thanks so much.

Mum was struggling with Dementia & we needed someone to take the pressure off. Home Instead have been so professional, understanding exactly what we needed & very quickly gaining Mums trust. The person they sent to help mum has become her friend & they laugh a lot together which has been so nice to see. At the same time giving our family some respite with the knowledge that mum is safe in their hands has been a god send. We (my siblings too) would definitely recommend Home Instead to anyone looking for care.

Thank you to the Deputy care manager and all mums carers.
I would highly recommend this service.
We have used Home Instead for mum since January and are very happy with the care she receives.

Mum was matched with carers and they have been ideal, are very professional, caring and have taken the time to get to know mum, her family and interests and have built up a lovely relationship. I feel very reassured that mum is well looked after and all her needs are met when family are not with her.

We used Home Instead for respite care. My partner has advanced progressive MS and cannot move much at all nowadays, so caring for him can be quite intense.

Home Instead took the time to match a care professional to my partner based on mutual interests. It worked - they seemed to get on like a house on fire from the start. My partner had talked himself almost hoarse! I feel it did him the world of good to be able to chat with a like-minded person. He said he enjoyed having someone different to talk to and they had a lot in common.

From my perspective, it was really good to see him settled even before I went out and being able to hear the conversation as I walked in afterwards. I was able to be out with friends without worrying if he was ok, which improved my own wellbeing too.

I feel the first session was a great success and we are both looking forward to future sessions. Highly recommended.

My husband and I get great support from Home Instead. Having a carer come to our house allows me time to myself that I value greatly. My husband and the carer get on very well and have a good relationship. Equally important is the good relationship between carer and myself.

I am very satisfied with the care I'm receiving, as I was with the care for my late husband. It's good to have the same carers regularly as they know where things are and what I like. They are both very friendly and kind, and willingly do what I ask, as well as listening patiently to my reminiscences. This is important to those of us who live alone.
Both the carers and office staff are efficient and professional, but I feel the carers deserve regular contracts and better pay for the difficult work they do.

I can recommend Home Instead to anyone seeking good quality service.

Although we have only been with Home Instead (St Helens) for 2/3 weeks we have been very happy with the service provided so far. Our dad's caregiver has been amazing and he seems to be very comfortable with her. We get detailed feedback from every visit which we find invaluable and gives us peace of mind that dad is ok.

We have had experience with other care providers but Home Instead are by far the best we have found. Thankyou :)

I have used Home Instead for my mum for a number of years. Privately, and now through social care.
We have always been very impressed and extremely happy with the consistently high standards displayed and maintained throughout the years.
During the last ten months, Mum has needed more frequent care throughout the day. We have been particularly happy with the level of care and commitment shown by all at Home Instead.

Thank you to everyone there. We are extremely pleased with everything that you do , and continue to do.

Having cared for my own elderly relatives for many years, I understand just how emotional and challenging it can be to support a loved one, or to place your trust in others to do so. Experiencing first-hand the importance of reliable, high-quality care led me to step away from my career and become the main care professional for my family, ensuring they were always treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

This experience is what inspired me to start Home Instead St Helens. I was drawn to their strong belief in promoting independence, choice, and quality of life for older people, as well as their commitment to providing consistent Care Professionals who build meaningful, trusting relationships.

In my role, I focus on building strong connections within the local community, working closely with organisations and partners, and ensuring our service consistently delivers the highest standards of care.
