The ladies who attend to her needs are professional and have managed to gain her trust.
When we wanted to make changes, it was a refreshing change to always be able to reach the main contact number immediately, reaching someone straight away who was always ready to assist.
Thank you, Home Instead.
Very happy, care is the best I have ever had. Staff are very nice and helpful.
Home Instead unfortunately needed an unnecessary amount of prompting in order to fulfil even the most simplest of tasks set, which was to get rid of out-of-date food from the fridge and warm up a microwave meal. Their knowledge in caring for Dementia patients are lacking and this shows in their communication. Their understanding is that Dementia sufferers will ask for help when they need it, many family members dealing with loved ones with this Alzheimer's disease will know that this is not the case. Management were also very discompassionate when discussing care requirements.
Thank you for your comments. Please let me reassure you that the matter has been fully investigated and any appropriate action taken.
Did not fulfill tasks from the outset as per the care package. My Mum suffers with dementia and needs to be prompted to eat/drink. Carers had to be prompted to prepare even a microwave meal. Left mum with out-of-date food. Very little consistency. Rather than helping in caring for my mother made things much more difficult. Withdrew care when mum required more personal care without liaising with me. Pay a very low rate for their care assistants, hence staff shortages.
Thank you for your comments. Please let me reassure you that the matter has been fully investigated and any appropriate action take.
My mum lives with dementia, which has been getting progressively worse, but her care team of three carers have a wonderful way with her and know exactly how to communicate with her and make her laugh. She always remembers their faces, even though she now cannot now remember their names, but having had the same carers over the years has meant that she knows them as her friends.
The reassurance of the office team has been a tremendous help to us, and nothing is too much trouble. The organization of Mum's care, the care delivered by all of the team and the communication from the office has meant that I can live my life knowing that Mum is in safe hands.
Thank you, Home Instead.
The team have been a lifeline for our Mum and the family. They offered Mum the support she needed to enable her to remain in her own home for as long as possible and alleviated some of the stress caring for Mum's needs placed on the family members involved. Home Instead provide a consistent package of care to Mum and offered the family reassurances about her care. Despite a couple of misunderstandings, quickly settled, the service from the team was amazing and we can’t thank them enough and really do appreciate all of their support and understanding.
Mum was cared for by Home Instead for a number of years. She was shown kindness and compassion by the carers, and a number of them got to know her very well. The management team were always very supportive, and listened and acted on any concerns that she had. Communication with us was always prompt when there was an issue that needed dealing with. Our only concern was that sometimes carers would appear that Mum didn't previously know.
This carer is highly professional in approach and constantly offers to help with jobs in the house on her visits, which is exactly what my mum needed as she usually does not like asking for help! As a result, she is getting much needed support with household tasks she was beginning to struggle with, as well as some lovely company each day.
The additional carers who come also work closely to the care plan. All carers have taken the time to get to know mum and show an interest in her life and memories, which is lovely for her. Overall I am extremely pleased with the service and mum is very happy! I would definitely recommend this service provider.
Fantastic service! I contacted Home Instead because I'd noticed that my mum wasn't coping very well on her own. She is 75 and has a number of long-term health conditions. She had developed increasing anxiety during the pandemic and was struggling with everyday tasks. I don't live close by, so having Home Instead has been a huge relief. I have been extremely impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the compassion shown to us. It was very hard for Mum to accept that she needed help, but the manager was very kind and immediately put Mum at her ease. He explained carefully and on her level what care they could offer, and how it could be tailored to her needs, without her losing her independence. She was quite nervous at first, but the manager explained how everything worked and she was soon receiving regular care at home. She has bonded really well with her caregiver and really looks forward to her visits. She now has someone to look after her when I'm not there - thank you all!
We were a bit nervous at first in getting our Mum back to her own home. The whole experience but Home Instead (St Helens) from the first visit to discuss our requirements to the introduction of the caregivers and first visits was smooth and considerate to our needs. Our Mum absolutely loves the caregivers and has immediately struck up great friendships with them. The management are responsive and communicate accurately but with a huge depth of knowledge and compassion, flagging up issues promptly that allows us to sort our Mum's problems out before they get serious. The change in our Mum over the past few weeks has been remarkable, she has relaxed back into being at home and is thriving again. We have got our Mum in the place she feels safest with an excellent and flexible care package designed for us, by a most caring set of people. I cannot begin to thank them all enough and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them for quality care packages tailored to your requirements.
Home Instead (St Helens) has been helping my Mum for the past 6 months, they have been amazing. Very caring, thoughtful and professional. I would highly recommend them. Their help has given my Dad much-needed respite time.
Very good service. The helpers are extremely good, supportive and understanding. Can't fault the service.
Home Instead is an excellent company that we would highly recommend. From the office staff to carers all are willing to help, and communication to the family is great.
Every contact with members of the Home Instead team, without exception, was excellent. The management team are caring, sensitive and professional. The caregivers treated Dad with kindness, dignity and respect. They supported him to retain his independence and helped him to remain in his own home for as long as possible. Would highly recommend.
Very happy with the overall service.
Very pleased with the care provided and the way it was organised. All the staff that we have any dealings with have been very professional, polite and courteous. Dad agrees with the comment.
Considerate and understanding support with a complex needs case in Mum. I feel like she is genuinely cared about and needs are constantly updated by management and carers and always communication.
I look forward to my caregivers calling in on me, and they do an excellent job supporting me, nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
All very good. I have never had any problems and if I request a change it's always been done with efficiency. They always take care of me and listen to and take account of my opinions.

Having cared for my own elderly relatives for many years, I understand just how emotional and challenging it can be to support a loved one, or to place your trust in others to do so. Experiencing first-hand the importance of reliable, high-quality care led me to step away from my career and become the main care professional for my family, ensuring they were always treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
This experience is what inspired me to start Home Instead St Helens. I was drawn to their strong belief in promoting independence, choice, and quality of life for older people, as well as their commitment to providing consistent Care Professionals who build meaningful, trusting relationships.
In my role, I focus on building strong connections within the local community, working closely with organisations and partners, and ensuring our service consistently delivers the highest standards of care.
