Homeinstead was recommended by a friend of my 88 year old Aunt who needed home care from April 2025 after a formal diagnosis of dementia. I am based in London, she in Glasgow, so knowing that a carer would visit daily provided peace of mind. She enjoyed the visits and the company and quickly became used to the care team. The office kept me informed of her well being and the app provided a useful track of what each visit entailed. My Aunt has recently moved to a care home so the service has been discontinued however I would be happy to recommend Homeinstead to others who need care for a relative. With regard to the cancelling of the service there is a 4 week notice period. I appreciate that for any business having clients change/cancel appointments at the last moment is a challenge and they clearly have a right to charge. I think however that 4 weeks notice is quite a lot given the age/health of their clients for whom unexpected events can occur at short notice.

We were very pleased to find Home Instead for both elderly parents . The carers are very professional and empathetic, trustworthy and our routine with them is well established.
The service augments the other care arrangements which has worked out well . We can also request increased hours when we are on holiday which is reassuring.
The management team communicate any issues quickly and effectively.

I would absolutely recommend them as a safe and reliable service .

Home instead provided care pro to my mother for nearly 4 years. We were promised quality carers, good compatibility and full management. All we needed to do was visit. It took best part of 3 years during which numerous carers were provided who were totally the opposite. There was a general lack of communication with the company and an apparent high turnover of office staff. Through 3 years of trial and error, but mainly the latter, two very good carers were eventually found and supported my mother till the end. Unfortunately in the last 15 months of our relationship with the company the finance department were completely incompetent through lack of invoicing, communication, notification of cost increases, clarification of expenses and a change in payment procedure.

So in brief - a lot of perseverance, a lot of stress, a lot of broken promises, incompetent senior management and overall in my opinion, poor value for money. I can only say thank goodness for the two girls (carers)

My mother has received care from Home Instead for that last 4 years. Over that time she has met a number of the care professionals who have all been excellent with her and treat her with kindness and dignity. Her needs have changed over that period and Home Instead office staff have been very understanding of this and have accommodated visit changes - prioritising care professionals that she is familiar with, which is so important for someone living with dementia.

She developed a very close bond with her main care professional who is just fabulous .This has been a great comfort to our family as she has spent time with mum and we have been able to relax knowing she is in such good hands - and that they are enjoying their time together.

We would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead to other families - thankyou all!

My father has been receiving Homecare for the past 6 years and has built up a good rapport with his carers. Recently whilst unwell the carer noticed a change which was out of character and not being his usual self, alerted the head office staff who then contacted myself and from there was admitted to hospital.

The staff are very good communicators and always there for you if you need their help.

Home Instead provided a care professional to provide companionship for my husband who was housebound. This service was greatly appreciated by us both and we looked forward to our carer coming every week. She had a cheery outlook and was very helpful and kind and we had a nice, friendly relationship with her. Sadly my husband passed away, however, as I did not want to lose the carer, I decided to continue with the service for myself.

We have had the support of Home Instead ( Glasgow North ) for over a year now with care for our Mother aged 94. This support has been a perfect solution to keep her in the comfort of her own home, whilst receiving the daily help and companionship she required. We cannot recommend the carers more highly. Each and every carer brought personality and a huge warmth to their visits, which was so re- assuring to our family. Not only did they complete all personal care and day to day assistance in a respectful and cheerful manner, they were happy to join Mum in jigsaws and Upword games, which she has always loved. They were able to bring ideas to us to enhance Mum's care and they all took time to engage and chat and to draw out memories from the past and to make our Mum laugh. The daily online updates via the Home Instead app were brilliant and gave us huge comfort. We have very reluctantly now moved Mum into residential care in Bearsden, but we will miss you guys!! Thank you all.

Hi Home Instead provided personal care for my mum from January until Match 2025. My mum was recovering from a knee replacement so her mobility at first was very limited for the first weeks. All carers that attended to mum where all very good. The support mum and received was very good. I would be happy to recommend Home Instead. They provided care to my dad for four years before he sadly passed away. As a family we appreciated there support. I would have no hesitation in using them in the future.

My sister was desperate to get home for her last few days - without your team this would have been impossible. She had 24 hour care and nothing was too much bother for any of your providers who were also very caring and considerate to family and friends. All of them went way beyond any care that we had envisaged. One of them said that she treated everyone as if they were a member of their own family and that was certainly true of all the team caring for my sister. Her nephew and I have the consolation of knowing that she died happy and at peace - we cannot thank you enough.

I'm very glad that I decided to ask Home Instead to provide live-in care for me during my first week at home after my operation.

I found the initial contact with the company's staff understanding and helpful, and they were very patient with me while I decided whether or not to go ahead. Some anxieties I had initially were completely understood and one or two things which I expected to prove a practical problem were readily resolved.

But above all, the care professional who came to stay with me for a week was an absolute delight. I was in quite a lot of pain and unable to do much for myself, but nothing was too much trouble for her, and she went out of her way to make things as easy and comfortable for me as possible. She even took good care of my cat! She was also good company and an excellent cook! I was sorry to have to say goodbye to her at the end of the week.

I am very pleased with the support my mother is receiving from Home Instead.

Her carer is very supportive and kind to my mother. They go shopping together and any other activities that need to be actioned. Her carer helps my mother in the house with ironing and helps her with tidying out the fridge etc. They also sit and have a chat. My first contact with 'Home Instead' was in November 2021. I'd just come out of hospital, and my family had arranged for me to have support from the company, in order to help me adjust to moving into a new flat. All the ladies who provided 'companionship' were kind, courteous and very helpful. Although each lady was different, their support allowed me to enjoy life again. My confidence returned after having had severe anxiety and depression. Office staff were helpful and supportive and was much appreciated. After 2 1/2 years of care, some of the ladies have become friends. I can thoroughly recommend 'Home Instead's' help, support and care. First class!

I think it's a question of managing expectations. I see the wider picture since a client/staff meeting which I could attend recently. I expected to form a relationship with one helper who came two hours a week. I have had five different helpers, one heavily pregnant. But all pleasant, friendly and helpful. Managing staff notes is challenging and I like meeting new people and appreciate cleaning and use of a car particularly. I have two carers in my family. Thank you.

During my stepmother's terminal illness, Home Instead carers helped us ensure that she was comfortable, safe and cared for in her own home right to the end. The care service was consistent, thoughtful, flexible and adapted quickly as her needs and medical requirements changed. The carers went out of their way to ensure that her wishes and preferences were honoured and that she was never left without appropriate medical support. As a family, we will always be grateful for their professionalism and kindness.
