It is a great relief to know that my parents are in such safe hands. My dad, who looks after my mum who has dementia, really looks forward to the carers' visits each week and enjoys the chats and good-humoured conversation. Their needs are assessed, understood and catered for in a sensitive way by the same people each week, and I can see that they are being welcomed into the home.
As I don’t live near my parents having the services of Home Instead in place is a godsend, I know my parents are in good hands and having lovely staff looking after them.
Very satisfactory. Friendly and professional.
High standard of care given but most carers go over the call of duty. Good company to work with and personal contact.
Staff are very thoughtful and caring and help with the care plan. They are open to changes to ensure we find the best plan. Caregivers are all genuinely kind and caring with good disposition and understanding of needs.
Delighted with the care Mum is getting and the communication with Home Instead in Taunton.
It gives me much pleasure to say thank you to you and your staff and company for all the care I have received. I am grateful for everything, my helper is wonderful. Say thank you to her for me.
Home Instead Senior Care has been providing home care for my now 91-year-old Mum since the summer of 2016. I cannot express my thanks enough for the excellent care/service provided. Recently one of Mum's carers was concerned about her health and got in touch with the office who in turn called the paramedics. They also kept my brother well informed at all times. All was well, but Home Instead arranged for the carer to stay with my Mum for the rest of the morning to make sure she was OK. I live in Canada and knowing Home Instead and the wonderful carers, supervisors and the office staff are there for my Mum means I can sleep at night. Thank you all!
Home Instead have been absolutely brilliant when I needed more visits for my mother and it was no trouble to arrange. All the caregivers are very kind and my mum feels reassured and looks forward to seeing them. They are happy to take on all sorts of tasks or just sit and have a cup of tea with her which she so appreciates.
Home Instead has proved to be extremely professional, reliable, flexible and perhaps most importantly kind and understanding. They provided as much consistency of care as they could and met my Father's needs in every way.
At the end of my first year requiring some help, I have experienced pleasant, friendly, punctual, unrushed attendance and similar response from office staff. Very efficient, highly recommended.
Home Instead is the best run agency we have used, we have used 5 over the years. They have wonderful Carers, I would add here that applies to others we have used as well, but management has limited other companies. Home Instead allow travel time for their Carers, so they are on time. The owner of this local franchise is very friendly and helpful. The management in the office make life easy. It is a more expensive agency than some, but worth it, although double rate for bank holidays is steep. The three Carers that they chose for me are brilliant and they go above and beyond in their care. So glad we found them.
Very helpful service and nothing is too much trouble. Were always willing to arrange extra visits at short notice and so polite and kind. Just lovely to deal with.
My aunt is being cared for at the weekends. If there have been any issues, they have always been addressed immediately. I have used other care agencies and I feel Home Instead are excellent and I have recommended them to friends who are looking for care for their relatives.
Excellent. Time and care readily given to listen, assess and suggestions given for building on care.
The management and staff of Home Instead have surpassed our expectations with their care, thoughtfulness, professionalism and empathy. Without exception, the caregivers treated my Mum with genuine warmth and kindness and helped to make the last months of her life happy and contented.
I would not hesitate to recommend them and my family and I will always be grateful for the superb support they gave to my Mum and us during a difficult period.
Home Instead is one of the rare agencies I have used during the last 6years where not only do the office staff and the front line carers work as a team but also work as a team with my own employees. All their employees work to an extremely high standard but they actually truly care and not only look after my physical well being but also my emotional one. They have never let me down and never fail to communicate with me regarding any problems. They bend over backwards to be there for me and have never let me down. Any carer they ever send to me cares not only physically but also with their hearts. The level of care they provide is truly exceptional.
One of the many tasks the regular Monday Carer helps Mum with is her bath which has got increasingly difficult for many reasons. Mum told me how impressed she was. The carer is patient and very caring and nothing is too much trouble for her - Mum's words. She has been visiting her for over 2 years and has watched her decline in many ways. She anticipates situations well. Mum does trust her which I think says a lot. She still always manages to do the chores we have requested as well. Couldn't ask for more.
My wife and I have been very impressed with Home Instead since requesting them to provide care for my step-mother and father. Their communication with us and our parents has always been very good. They put real effort into matching appropriate carer staff to the clients. The carers themselves have always been pleasant and never seem rushed. There is such flexibility in the service and it certainly gives peace of mind to a family like us who are not nearby. We continue to be glad we chose Home Instead and would happily recommend them to others.
Home Instead have been helping to care for my Mother in Law for the last six months. We chose them because it was immediately clear that, to them, Mum would be a person and not a "task", and that her care was as much about companionship as the practicalities of helping with food, washing, medication etc. We have a great working relationship with the team of carers, who are excellent at letting us know (via notes) everything from how Mum has been feeling, to telling us we need to get more food for the dog! There is also fantastic communication with the management team too, all with a very personal touch that shows they genuinely do care. It has given us a real feeling of security to know that Mum has that support. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Mark has worked as a GP in Somerset for 30 years. During this time, he also worked for the government as an advisor on health policies and worked in industry-leading hospitals, diagnostic units, pathology and social care services such as home care.
Working in Home Care is what Mark is most passionate about. Ensuring that everyone has the best care, support and independent life where they are happiest can make such a positive impact on families.
