The carers from Home Instead were exemplary. Mum was extremely frail and sad following my father's death. The carers enabled her to stay in the home she loved during the Covid pandemic, which meant that I, as her daughter, could also visit her. She loved their company and nothing was too much trouble.
I was always informed if they had any concerns and I knew she was well cared for, by trustworthy people.

The ladies from Home Instead have been a great support to my mother and the family. Mum's care needs have changed over time and everyone has responded to this. She has enjoyed her trips out, playing dominoes at home, all the chats and her walks in the park while no other outings have been possible.
Thank you for being able to provide more help over the past year when Mum couldn't go out to shop. Living at a distance to my mother obviously has meant I cannot do things for her so it has been comforting to know others do. The app is wonderful for knowing what is happening during the visits too.

A truly caring and compassionate organisation, from care givers to office based staff to the owners. Whoever you deal with go above and beyond to help, even in the most difficult of situations with frequently changing needs. They just “get it” and can offer support and suggestions to help a loved one
remain in their own home, living as independently as possible. It is very reassuring to know they are in good hands and having such confidence in the team leads to my only disappointment and that is Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset) is not really set up to provide twenty four hour care on a long term basis if this is needed. That would be the ideal.

Dear Tracey,
Thank you very much for your review, we are so pleased to hear how we helped your Aunt and we also appreciate your thoughts on us providing more 24/7 care. Thank you again.

Sensitive handling of dementia sufferer by mature care staff who always went the extra mile to ensure her comfort. The family always felt confident that she was safe in the care givers' hands and that the back up administration at Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset) was always available if necessary.

Most impressed with the service provided. Well supported after two months in hospital and during the virus epidemic. I look forward to seeing somebody every day and they are all very friendly and kind. The highlight of my day as I have not seen any family for one year. (Two briefly when discharged)

Home Instead has been providing support to my mother for the past year. She is extremely happy with the service provided and this gives me confidence that she can continue to live an independent lifestyle. Home Instead have been very reactive to any changes in her circumstances providing additional
or reduced support as necessary. The communication between the carers is excellent which ensures continuity of care no matter which carer is allocated to each session. Their willingness to undertake not only personal care but cleaning and shopping tasks as required ensures that her slightest worries are taken care of.

I cannot speak highly enough for the compassion, empathy and service provided by the Home Instead team. Both management and the care providers take a personal interest in my mother and her care needs. They are always at the end of the phone when I need help and advice and my mum really enjoys the interaction
and kindness provided by everybody involved. Heartfelt thanks to all.

We couldn't manage without the brilliant team at Home Instead who adapt to our changing needs.
We have enjoyed long, continuous care by the same caregivers. It is very comforting that they know our needs so well.

I am really heartened that even an hour a week provided by Home Instead is making a huge difference to our Dad who has Parkinson's and lives alone. The service is professional, caring and non-judgemental making us as a family feel supported and reassured that once our Dad has built up this relationship,
he will be open to receiving more care in the future.
The Staff have gone beyond and above to help us with linking into other services as well on behalf of our Father which has alleviated the time, stress and anxiety for us. Thank you so much Home Instead!

My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a while ago, having successfully hidden her problems from me for quite some time. I found it quite difficult to accept, and it took some time for our children to persuade me that some assistance was required. Home Instead were recommended to me by a friend and
started visiting, giving companionship to my wife, and after I got used to the idea, giving me a chance to take a break. I was most impressed by the initial contact, where what I needed was discussed, particularly with the principle of a small group caring for my wife, who could be challenging. I also got a lot of help in understanding what was happening to my wife from the ladies who cared for her. I could not be more impressed by the quality of care and advice given, or by the relationship which developed between my wife and individual carers. The admin staff were excellent in contacting me regularly to check that I was happy with the service. The monthly newsletter was also nice to see.

I would like to say a big thank you to carers and the office team for their continued support for my lovely Mum. She has had a very difficult time over the last few years, in and out of hospital, a stroke etc but I cannot praise everyone enough for the care, support and kindness they give her. She looks
forward to seeing her carers for help and of course a chat in these difficult challenging times of Covid. I cannot praise her main carer enough, she has become a friend who makes sure Mum is always comfortable, safe and happy. Excellent service! Keep up the good work.

Home Instead has provided increased levels of care for my parents over a 3 year period As a result, they have been able to stay living at home longer than otherwise possible (they are now going into care).
I have always been kept well informed of concerns/developments with my parents, and urgent
care has been provided each time there has been a need.
There has been a consistency in the caregivers, so my parents see familiar faces daily.
I have been extremely impressed by the overall care that Home Instead has provided, and will always be very grateful to the friendly and professional nature of all staff members. Thank you.

I am particularly impressed with the office staff. They are very friendly and extremely helpful. Being disabled I get the extra care and consideration I need from the caregivers who visit me. It is very important to me that they understand my disabilities and they all do that.

The service I received from Home Instead has been exceptional; from the initial enquiry stage to the planning of the schedule of care and finally through to the quality of the care delivered. My father got to know and like his carers, he looked forward to their visits and frequently praised them. They
were always friendly, helpful and capable.
In addition, I found the managers at Home Instead were excellent communicators and always ready to assist when it came to the organisation of medical appointments and prescriptions.
I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead to others.

My sister and I can't thank Home Instead enough. Sadly, our dad passed away suddenly in September; he had been caring for mum superbly. We were faced not only with the shock and grief of losing dad but also how mum was going to be cared for. To be honest, we were completely overwhelmed by the situation
we found ourselves in. We contacted Home Instead and explained our situation. They were superb; they managed to get caregivers in extremely quickly and without much notice. This gave us the time and space to sort out all that we needed to in terms of dad's passing. Very quickly, it became obvious that we'd made the best decision we could have made, not only for us but for mum too. Each and every caregiver has been amazing with mum; their genuine care and compassion has taken a huge burden of worry away from us. Simply put, the ladies who come are wonderful and we know that when we are not here, we don't need to worry about mum. Mum looks forward to the ladies coming...we do too.

Very happy with the level of care provided and a breath of fresh air after a bad experience with a carer from another company. The management is very good and the carers do a good job and are very friendly. It spoke volumes when initially phoning around the self-employed carers that a popular fully-booked
one essentially recommended the competition!

My wife suffered a severe stroke and I was told that it was extremely unlikely I would be able to cope with looking after her at home. However, I contacted Home Instead and they determined that it would be quite feasible to care for her in our little thatched cottage.
The carers are absolutely brilliant,
my wife is a very private person but I don't think that I have heard her laugh as much for a long time. They are punctual, treat my wife with dignity at all times and thoroughly professional. My wife likes all of them without reservation (although she does have her favourites). Everyone at Home Instead has been very supportive of me as well, asking whether I am ok, sleeping/eating ok etc which is great because I think that the primary carer can get forgotten.
It is true that the fees are not cheap but you certainly get what you pay for and I believe that the service provided is good value for money. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend them.

From the moment we first made contact with Home Instead we felt relief. Relief that our problems were being understood, and could be addressed quickly. I needed some help for my mum - her needs changed rapidly, and Home Instead adapted accordingly. My dad felt that all the caregivers wanted to help
my mum. They talked to him all the time about what they were doing for my mum. It was important to him that he still felt involved with his wife's care. Although we were paying for a service, we did feel that the caregivers genuinely cared about my mum. This made such a difference to us, as it is a hard decision to give the care of someone you love into the hands of strangers. Unfortunately, my mum passed away so our association with Home Instead was cut short. However, I would recommend them, and I will use Home Instead when the time comes for my dad to get some help.

In her spare time, Julie loves Gardening, attending festivals, watching live bands and spending time with my family.
