My daughter researched which Care Agency to transfer to, as we were impressed by your credentials on the website. You have lived up to our expectations.
The carers are all sensitive, caring and hard working.
Behind the scenes organisation is good. If there are any expenses incurred, you have a very clear system in place which is very helpful.

I now rely on the carers for many tasks that have become too difficult for me, and the carers undertake them all willingly and cheerfully.

I have Parkinson's and following a fall, which broke my hip, I had a caregiver twice a week to help with showering. As my illness progressed the number of visits were altered to suit me. I am now having three visits a day seven days a week. The Caregivers are amazing with nothing being too much trouble. This also included emotional support at a time when I needed it. The office staff are also excellent I just have to call them and they try to accommodate my request even at short notice. I feel extremely lucky to have such a nice team of carers, without them I would not be able to remain at home.

The most outstanding care, consideration, compassion and ongoing observations with feedback to assist me with a 35-mile distance relationship with my mum. The staff observed certain conditions that could have been life-critical and their excellent contact helped me get the timely medical intervention required to get the correct medication and doctors support. The staff are welcoming, warm, humorous and super caring. So delighted with the business and its fair pricing policy.

The Home Instead care team have been amazing with my mum. She has dementia and they have kept persevering with her over the last three months, making sure she takes her medications and cooking her meals.

They often send the same few carers so she is now starting to remember them. The carers go above and beyond, despite often being shown the door, (or not getting past it), they keep coming back and are very patient and clever at getting my mum to let them in. The app is a brilliant tool as you can see how a visit has gone and is always quickly updated. They are stars.

My mother had been diagnosed with the onset of memory loss and we needed support in the context that she was not fully aware/accepting of her condition. The support has been sensitive and discreet in the first instance and then flexible and practical as her needs have been better understood and then developed.

I would recommend Home Instead to anyone looking for care for an elderly person.
The quality of care given to my father has been excellent. The caregivers are all kind and considerate but at the same time work in a professional way. The rota was constructed in a way that a small number of caregivers visited, so the problem of a different person every day didn’t arise.
Communication with the office was always excellent, responses to queries or emails prompt and felt personal.

I wish everyone at Home Instead every success.

After a professional working life and twenty years of retirement living on my own, Home Instead are introducing me painlessly to accepting help when I need it. As a company, they are well organised, disciplined and practical so one feels safe and they have a very friendly 'can do' approach to whatever is asked of them - an approach that appears to be consistent throughout a varied team of staff and carers which suggests careful recruitment and proper attention given to training. Communication within the organisation is encouraged and is good and I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Instead to others.

My father is 94 and lives on his own and is determined to stay in his own home. Being fiercely independent he was, at first, reluctant to have any 'stranger' in his home. Then in September 2019 he finally agreed to have some help and a lovely young woman from Home Instead came 3 times a week to prepare his lunch. He now has a Home Instead carer coming every day. On my every visit he makes some comment about how kind the carers are and how he couldn't do without them. The whole team involved in his care are exemplary and I cannot praise them enough for the difference they have made to my father's life. Thank you to the whole team.

Home Instead are not the cheapest home care provider in Taunton but my goodness do they provide value for money. Although my fiercely independent ninety-six-year-old mother was initially extremely reluctant to have any help, she is very happy with her care team and beginning to enjoy life to the full. From their constant monitoring through to daily updates on Mum’s health and well-being, I can’t rate them highly enough.

It's incredible how all these carers can do so much in their specified time allowance - without the quality of their work diminishing. It cannot be accidental that despite their various ages and personalities, there has not been one Home Instead representative I have not been happy to welcome into my home. They are a very genial band, and competent too, making my day feel safe and more organised without losing the touch of friendliness they generate.

My mother is nearly 90 and has a preference for living at home and definitely does not want to go into a care home.
Home Instead makes this possible.
Now we are allowed out my mother has been out with the Home Instead carers which is something she has missed doing.
I get to see my mother at least once a week and receive regular feedback from the carers visiting twice a day.

Home Instead arranges for prescriptions to be collected and delivered, takes mom to doctors appointments, does mom's shopping and a host of other things.

I have been highly impressed with Home Instead from the first phone call requesting information, to the initial assessment and then the quality of tailored support that was provided. When a significant health issue arose earlier in the year, Home Instead were very responsive and dealt with the issue sensitively and professionally. The cost is a little more than other local providers but you get what you pay for and I really can't speak highly enough of them.

The carers from Home Instead were exemplary. Mum was extremely frail and sad following my father's death. The carers enabled her to stay in the home she loved during the Covid pandemic, which meant that I, as her daughter, could also visit her. She loved their company and nothing was too much trouble. I was always informed if they had any concerns and I knew she was well cared for, by trustworthy people.

The ladies from Home Instead have been a great support to my mother and the family. Mum's care needs have changed over time and everyone has responded to this. She has enjoyed her trips out, playing dominoes at home, all the chats and her walks in the park while no other outings have been possible. Thank you for being able to provide more help over the past year when Mum couldn't go out to shop. Living at a distance to my mother obviously has meant I cannot do things for her so it has been comforting to know others do. The app is wonderful for knowing what is happening during the visits too.

A truly caring and compassionate organisation, from care givers to office based staff to the owners. Whoever you deal with go above and beyond to help, even in the most difficult of situations with frequently changing needs. They just “get it” and can offer support and suggestions to help a loved one remain in their own home, living as independently as possible. It is very reassuring to know they are in good hands and having such confidence in the team leads to my only disappointment and that is Home Instead (Taunton & West Somerset) is not really set up to provide twenty four hour care on a long term basis if this is needed. That would be the ideal.

Home Instead has been providing support to my mother for the past year. She is extremely happy with the service provided and this gives me confidence that she can continue to live an independent lifestyle. Home Instead have been very reactive to any changes in her circumstances providing additional or reduced support as necessary. The communication between the carers is excellent which ensures continuity of care no matter which carer is allocated to each session. Their willingness to undertake not only personal care but cleaning and shopping tasks as required ensures that her slightest worries are taken care of.

Morgan is our new Reception and Office Administrator at Home Instead Taunton. Before joining us, she spent 7 years at Musgrove Park Hospital working in various areas, including the Maxillofacial Department and the Day Surgery Centre as a Theatre Assistant. After having her first child, she decided to transition into a role where she could make a difference in the community and contribute to improving the quality of life for others.

In her free time, Morgan enjoys spending quality time with her family, exploring new places on long walks, and caring for her toddler. Recently, she adopted a kitten, adding to her lifelong love of animals, having grown up with horses, goats, dogs, and cats.
